"Duncan, Duncan, he's our man, if he can't kill it, maybe Elber can!" Landrae sings a rhyme as Duncan's polearm slices through the last of the hideous creatures, felling it. Then she sees Elber charge into the room, and calmly says "Elber, don't..." before raising her bow and sighting through the door, not wanting to follow, but preparing should Elber be charging into trouble.
As Landrae now sees the chains through the door, and notes that Elber hasn't been set upon by anything scarier than his own battle frenzy, she proceed towards the door, "Take a knee Elber, the foes have been slain, your bow and sword extinguishing what little constituted their pitiful existence. Breathe and be calm, mighty barbarian. Let us check these rooms and see if we can get any sane response from the old man now."

((yay~ Well done all ^^))
Duncan will go back over to the mad scientist, saying to his companions on the way "Anyone wanna see what we can get outa this guy?"
Once at the scientist he'll remove the gag, but keep him tied up, and say "We had to put your children down... What the hell are you playing with here?!" grabbing the guy by the shirt and shaking him INTIMIDATION18 ((+3 to that roll if I can use STR for intimidation))
Jack looks at the carnage and then walks over to the pathetic man, “You created these things? For what purpose? They could have done a lot of carnage to your neighbors, their children! I bet the authorities would like to get their hands on you, maybe even a small reward for turning you over to them.”
Disgusted, Jack walks away but not before he wipes his blade clean on Fosa’s clothes and sheathes it.
“I want to take a look at the upstairs before we leave and get the authorities. We should lock him in his children’s room.”
"Good thinking Jack. There are people better equipped to deal with him then us. I'll go with you while you explore the house in case something else is lurking."((Duncan will give Jack the help action on any search checks he makes.))
To the other members of the group "see if you can learn anything else down here."
"Your insanity disgusts me old man. Was it worth the trade, losing your mind for creating these abominations? For now you have lost them too, and soon no doubt your freedom will be another cost of this wayward road you wander." Landrae's tone is icy but without malice, as she walks over to the man. She looks him square in those eyes filled with utter madness, and slaps him, "You have wasted a gift old man."
Nodding assent to Jack and Duncan, "I agree we should check upstairs, first though, does this mechanismlook familiar to anyone? Is it just to distill potions, or is there any more to it?"
Kai makes sure they are dead before making a detailed investigation of each of the creatures in turn. Surely they must be the corruption of some other creature.
Jack mumbles something under his breath about Fosa and prison.
Jack will inspect the cell these things were locked up in to ensure there isn’t another way out. Investigation: 18
”Appreciate the help Duncan. Let’s go check out the upstairs rooms see if there is anything else of importance in this hell hole and then get out of here.”
"Prisons teach the desperate. This man has no desperation, only madness and evil intent." Elber raises his sword, but only to sling it across his back again. "The law be captain Alais. I can find her while you secure this place."

"Let us all abide here a moment longer Elber, whilst Jack and Kai make certain that our exploration has been thorough enough so that there are no more hidden monsters..." And with a small curl at the corner of her mouth and a smile in her eyes, Landrae adds "Or that Jack's quick hands don't weigh only his own pockets with any trinkets of value. Fosa must have funded this somehow. Then I am sure that the captain would be pleased to hear the news that a band of fresh into town commoners have performed such an untroublesome activity that hath called the capabilities of her watch into doubt not at all."
Landrae will look over the mechanism on the table and see if she can fathom out how it works, and what it is supposed to be doing.
"Ha, should you not have heard me I would fear you growing lax in your skills!" Landrae shouts back "Then there would be less profit for everyone!".
Turning away from the mechanism to find Elbers reproach still lingering, she concludes, "Fret not, oh keeper of the justice, Jack is a thief but first he is a friend, and I have faith that he keeps his fingers nimble by returning our purses as often as he busies himself lifting them" Landrae winks at Elber, then turns back to her tinkering, glad she still treads the line between humour and civility.
Elber seems content to ponder Landrae's mastery of words while keeping a watchful on the alchemist until the investigation has concluded, or assist in lifting anything heavy as needed.
The sight of his slaughtered children tips the alchemist off the brink of sanity and into the pit of insanity. Curling up in the corner he begins to mumble utter gibberish to himself, saliva dribbling down his chin. Any further attempts to question him are met with blank stares.
Jack, the cell in which the monstrosities were kept has only the one exit as far as you can tell.
Landrae, the room is bare save the wooden table, a few tattered books, some glass bottles bubbling with unknown liquids, and the strange mechanism on the table which you can only guess pertains to the alchemical arts.
Kai, you may make an Arcana check.
Now that the adrenaline rush of battle has worn off you are left to contemplate the full horror of the things you have just witnessed. Wisdom ST from each of you.

Coming from the other room, you hear Jack respond to Landrae’s jest “You know...I can still hear you!”
"Good that you do, such insults be unjust of us!" Elber shouts back, shooting a disapproving look to Landrae.
