The door opens and an old man with iron grey hair and a tangled beard beams at you. "Welcome, welcome! I have been wanting to meet you since I first read of your recent achievements in the papers. Please, sit down." He indicates two wooden chairs, one of which is missing a leg. He himself sits on a creaky bed with a stained mattress and a frayed blanket. The only other furnishment in the room is a locked chest at the foot of the bed and a desk littered with letters and papers.
"I hope we haven't intruded too early for you, we were ourselves carousing last night but felt this hour would be appropriate to bring business to light." Landrae takes a seat on the chair Elber is steadying, assuming she is the lightest and that hopefully her own balance will be enough that Elber need not steady it too much. "So, let me introduce our merry little band... Elber and Duncan are our requisite hunks, Kai our shy mystic, and I am Landrae - the best protected girl in Atlas. We don't mention our final member for the sake of his notoriety. We hear that you are the local representative of an adventuring guild, and were naturally curious to meet you."
Landrae tries to get a read on the man, whether he is upfront and genuine, or more like Elron, and hiding details as he talks.
"Pleased to make your acquaintance at last." Jeb says jovially. "I'm sure you want a little more background information on the Guild. It was established over five centuries ago by a warrior, one Cedric the Valiant. The purpose of the Guild is to offer opportunities to aspiring adventurers and protect Atlas from the various evils which threaten civilization. Privileges of the Guild include free accommodations in Guild-instituted "Adventurers Taverns" scattered across the continent, notification of lucrative adventuring opportunities, and, of course, access to the Adventuring Guild Castle itself." Jeb's eyes grow distant. "The library contains millions of books and manuscripts, the feast hall is always open, and the castle is filled with adventurers of every race and calling, trading tales and sharing information. it's a sight I'll never forget."
Landrae, your head still aches from the previous night's revelries, but the man appears sincere.
"Protecting civilization and sharing the bounties of adventure? You might well be describing my tribes, though riches such as that castle exist not among us. Where would one go to behold that grand sight?"
"Ellon, the greatest city in the realms." Jeb watches you eagerly. "What do you say? If you sign a few papers, I'll stamp em, and just like that you're official members."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Sounds good!"Duncan says, reaching for the papers [ self check DC 10: 13 - just passed~ ], before having a slight flash that he should let one of the more thoughtful members of his team look at the papers before adding his mark.
Although he doesn't say so, Elbers shift in posture hints a distrust for written agreements. Deals more complicated than spoken words has traps, so he looks to Jack and Landrae for their approval.
Landrae will look through the document, for any loopholes in wording that might potentially benefit her but with minimal legal knowledge this is purely a linguistics exercise for her.

Elber has made an effort to look less like a walking weapons rack, so his greatswords are wrapped in fur while the longbow is unstringed.

After a brief silence the door opens a crack and a man's bleary red eye peers out. "Guild business? And what's your qualification?"

"Word be you know we killed the Scorpion. That be one of our many qualifications for the business you deal in." Elber states matter-of-factly.

Jack will be on alert for anything out of the ordinary and just taking in his immediate surroundings.

Elber takes a spot behind the broken chair, stabilising it with one hand for whoever wants to sit.

Duncan will be the last to enter the room, and will stand just inside the door keeping watch.

Kai enters and crosses the room, standing beside the window. Staff held loosely. Trust is running short...

Kai looks at the man, "And the price of all this largesse? Surely there must be an agreement of some type?"

Jeb shrugs. "The Guild is established to offer resources to those who defend civilization. No other payment is necessary. "

Duncan slightly perks up at the mention of a feast hall, and all the treasure that might also be in store.

Kai, too, wishes to read. Having little experience with the wider world in general, and coming from a culture where your word is your bond.
