Ganathor moves forward to examine the orb. "Hm, if all the orcs have something like this then these disguises may not be useful. Especially if they act like the one back at camp. If one of these gets bound to any of us, that may be the end of the line. If we run into any orcs, even if we defeat them silently, it's better for us to retreat back to our camp than to push on. These things may tell their creator when one of their pets dies, and if they notice an entire scouting party disappear then they'll be ready for us."
Once everyone looks ready, Ganathor continues deeper towards the orcs' camp. Stealth: 20. Survival: 17

Forward Camp
Wilfred sees a shadow loping towards the camp at an increasing speed. As the shape draws nearer, it splits into two smaller shapes, which eventually reach the light of the campfire, revealing themselves to be white wolves! They snarl as they recoil from the fire momentarily, potentially stirring Quoren from his trance. Roll for initiative!

As Ganathor reaches down to pick up the orb, he realizes that orb sits in the skeletal palm of something vaguely humanoid, mostly buried by the snow.
[Ganathor, make an Intelligence (Investigation) check if you wish to check out the body further.]

Forward Camp
(Assuming Venture hears the noise as well...)
Shortly into his second hour of sleep, Venture is startled awake by a primal sound. He glances over his shoulder from his position with his back to the fire and sees Kalahari and Wilfred crouched preparing for battle. Then his eyes clear and the two wolves come into focus. He leaps to his feet, rolling away from the fire and grabbing for his rapier and flute.
Jumping at the sight of the wolves, Kalahari would cry out—"Is everyone awake? Wake up, wake up—" and pull out her mace and her component pouch, knuckles white as she readied herself for her first time ever in combat.
Wilfred fully unforls the chain around his waist, and grabs a branch from the fire, ready to strike at the wolfs. He positions himself between Kalahari and the wolves, keeping the rest of the sleepers at his back and hoping that Kalahari would stir them awake.
Initiative: 7
(I hope that the burning branch counts as a simple weapon, for the unarmed strike of the monk class, but will use it regardless)

Quavari, who was sent out after the scouting party by Captain Gubb, has been wandering around in the snow with no real direction when he spots a fire in the distance. Approaching it, he sees allies, denoted by their apparel, staring down two starving wolves.
Quavari is now able to join combat! [Good to have you back, Caobis!]
The wolves growl at Wilfred's burning branch, fearful of the fire between them and their intended prey. Circling the campfire, they try for a gap in Wiflred's guard, lunging at him.
Wolf Attacks: 23 for 7 piercing damage. | 16 for 8 piercing damage. If either attack hits, Wilfred must make a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
[Wilfred, for the purposes of this fight, we'll consider the branch to be a club that also deals an extra 1 fire damage on a hit. Target must make a DC 10 Dex save or Ignite, which means that they'll take 1d4 fire damage every turn unless they take a turn to put the fire out. I'm coming up with this one on the fly, so it might not necessarily be a balanced rule.]
Scouting Party
Ganathor pulls a skeletal hand out from underneath the snow. The hand is certainly orcish in nature, and the rest of the body appears to be buried here. Most likely, the orc was killed by the ice mephit, who managed to damage the orb, forcing it's magic to release prematurely. The most notable feature of this orc's hand is the pewter ring on its index finger. The ring hums with a soft warmth that spreads along your palm when you pick it up.
(Bonus Action) Kalahari would lunge towards, her hand touching Wilfred's back moments after the wolves had struck him. She loudly chanted something in Primordial, invoking the name of Ytis as dark blue magic surged down her arm. A shimmer field of faint light would envelop Wilfred—she cast Shield of Faith, granting him +2 AC for the next ten minutes. (Action) Uncertain of what to do next, she planted her feet and swung her mace at one of the nearer wolves, hoping to knock it back. To Hit: 5 Damage: 6

Wilfred swiftly dodges the first of the wolf attacks, but as experienced pack hunters, the other used the momentary distraction to go for Wilfred’s leg, sinking their teeth deep into his calf muscle.
Strength Saving Throw: 21
Gritting through the pain, and hearing Venture’s encouraging words, Wilfred lashes out with his chain downwards, onto the head and back of the wolf that bit him, and is trying to keep the other wolf away by threatening it with his fiery branch. Between clenched teeth, he grunts a thanks to Kalahari.

Ganathor leads the group onward, taking them through the snow. Soon, while you can't hear the orc camp, you begin to hear it. The clamor of metal on metal and metal against wood guide you towards the enemy encampment. Soon, vague figures in the distance become more obvious to you, though they don't seem to have noticed you yet.
Brow furrowed in concern, Kalahari would try to take some amount of cover in the snow, still tense in case things came to fighting. Stealth: 7
Unfortunately, her yellow and brown complexion wasn't ideal for blending into the area.
