Vail pulls out his longbow and places a couple arrows in the dirt in front of him ready to fire as needed.
He shuffles around slightly, silently to get the best vantage point while staying close to Oslamir. It’s been a long day, he decides to reach into his bag and finish the rest of liquor he has on hand. He offers it to Oslamir first.
”thirsty?”
ooc: can I give myself a liquid courage check? I’m an addict I should probably be drunk right now. Want to pound the rest of the bottle! I think it would be one levels of drunkenness? I had a whole flagon of mead and been crushing some whiskey all day. So DC 9 check?
“Tauriel, next drink is on me if you bloody your horns again.”
ooc: what time zone is everyone in? That might help. Tordal is mountain standard. Since I’m in Guam I’m 17 hours ahead of him. It would probably work if we had like a general time everyone was online. Sometimes it gets hard without notifications!
Let us say we are making our way East in search of work, maybe it can get them to slip some details of their operation. I have Faith that we can manage some information without resorting up violence but... Vail seems like he's itching for another fight, should worse come to worst.
Tauriel will casually walk up to the first men she sees.
"Why HELLO there!" she greets while waving. "Me and my Dwarf buddy here have come from...that way! Uh...EAST- yeah East! We are very poor and very bad people to steal from. My name is Tauri~...Tori! And this is Mr....Tordi."
She wraps her arm around Tordal. "Did I mention the part about being poor? We're certainly not people you should steal from but instead help find jobs. We're so poor that we need jobs just because we're very hungry. You all look like a friendly group, what do you do? Are you hiring?"
ooc: Sure Vail, you can have a level of liquid courage.
Bounding boldly up to the camp, the Tieflings all get up from the fire and draw weapons, but otherwise don't look very concerned. When you get close enough they say "You can stop right there!"
"If you were truly as poor as you say you'd sell those nice shiny weapons, so why don't you tell us why you're really here before we leave you in these woods to rot."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"WAIT WAIT WAIT. We really are poor. You see, my dwarf friend and I really are poor. We lost all of our money gambling in town. We managed to get these weapons from a kind adventurer that...didn't need them anymore.We-we've...beeen using them to hunt! Yes. We can't get any food without something to kill game with." Tauriel hurriedly says, trying to convince the men.
"We're sick and tired of eating small rabbits every day though. We heard about a band of Tieflings nearby and we were wondering if you could use an extra hand." She gives an uneasy smile.
Charisma check(?): 9 + 2 (Inspired!)
ooc- i'm just assuming most of our US players are out for the superbowl today
Ooc: DM since they’re looking threatening do Oslamir and I realize it? Do I have a vantage point? And are there any ready actions I can do to prepare an arrow and send it to get the jump on em.
Oslamir has his crossbow loaded and ready in case they take any hostile action but is also actively scanning the surrounding area for any sign of the fourth Tiefling.
Tordal puffs his chest out and stands up tall (for a dwarf)
"Fantastic news, my Tiefling friends, we have come to spread the word of our Lord! We were ambushed by your counterparts along the trail to the west and they have paid dearly for their missteps. They did, however, give us some valuable information the led us to you. Your actions necessitate a swift and severe repentance. Fortunately for you, we have a merciful Lord.
We seek information about trade caravans that continue to go missing along this section of the road. Give us the information we need and your sins may be forgotten. Make us ask again and you will meet the same end as your friends..."
Sinjin walked as stealthily as a half blind gnome could. He took a hiding spot behind a stump sorta near the others. The gnome had his spell book out but not open, and he laid his quarterstaff down parallel to the ground in order not to stick out. Instead of looking around, he listened for any abnormal sounds.
LOL, So Vial: You didn't notice anything at first but then you saw Tordal gesturing in a pious way you recognize and at that moment you see the two who were beginning to flank them ready weapons.
Tauriel and Tordal: The Tiefling in the center you had been talking saw say "Get these two!"
