Oni uses his bonus action to shift Hex to the gnoll lunging to attack him. He thrusts his longsword forward hoping to meet the beasts throat with his blade.

Misha spun around tactfully, keeping her back to Jill, hammer and shield ready. She found her next target. She laughed loud. The thrill of combat pumping in her veins, she swung at the closest Gnoll. "Bane! Guide my hammer!"

The swing went completely wild, that's twice in two days Misha almost twisted her ankle on rough ground.

"I said GUIDE Hammer! BANE!! NOT FUNNY! Not copy Jill!"

Jill readies herself and takes another swing at the Gnoll with Ruin. Don't make me regret picking you up more than I already do.

Natasha low-key blamed her miss on watching that knoll fly to the moon after Misha's swing, coloring her impressed. Wow, eso fue caliente...

The ranger shook her head to rid herself of an impending thought then went about and shot another arrow.

Attack: 13 Damage: 5

Gods damn it, Misha.

As Misha recalibrated her terrible swing from that massive miss, the words of her Legion Commander a universe away rang in her mind.

"Prayer cleanses the soul but pain cleanses the body." Taetanicus said, looming over her.
Misha got up, bloodied, sweaty - her arm broken in three places. Gritting her teeth, she pushed past the pain and swung again.

"Bane will not judge you by your medals or victories, he will judge you by your scars!" Taetanicus yelled, and his sword impact upon her shield sent her reeling to the ground against the hot rock. She looked at him, gave him a mighty scowl, and slowly stood back again, ready for more, ready to fight, ready to be broken.

"Only in death does duty truly end. Nothing of value was earned without pain. Hold it up!" Taetanicus stood at her side, did nothing but yell in her ear.
Misha trembled and was drenched with sweat, her muscles threatening to rip out of her skin. She growled and moaned, and her arms and shoulders were introduced to new worlds of pain as she held the planks of iron above her head, and held it there till she screamed in agony.

She returned to the present, saw Natasha miss, and she smiled. Not because she was a poor shot this time, but because she saw something that was truly worth fighting for. She gave Jill a sidelong glance, still smiling, and was ready for their next move.

(Sorry guys I've been busy lately.)

At the sight of the mauled halflings in the dirt, the farmers lose what little semblance of courage they had to begin with. Dropping their weapons, they take cover behind the carts as the gnolls press the attack, and the ground runs red with blood.

Two of the gnolls, drenched in oil, ignite themselves with torches and lunge at Natasha and Grum, laughing as they burn. 

Natasha opposed Grapple: 5 (On a failed Grapple check take 10 fire damage.)

Grum opposed Grapple: 4 (On a failed Grapple check take 3 fire damage.)

The gnolls continue to circle Misha and Jill, one clutching at it's burning bowels. One stabs low on Misha, the other high on Jill.

Misha Attack: 19 Damage: 8

Jill Attack: 22 Damage: 5

The gnoll engaged with Kelric spits and bites at him with iron jaws.

Attack: 10 Damage: 5

Grum!

((Is grapple just a strength check?))

So I just get my turn as normal? What happens to the burning gnoll that tried to grapple me? Is it still alive?

((It make take a couple rounds of combat for the gnoll to be burned to death so I would just make an attack roll, if I’m wrong just apply the attack to a different gnoll))

It's probably alive and I doubt that it's going to stop trying to grapple you, so you should probably kill it.

Assuming it's in front of him still burning, Grum drops his bow to the ground, draws his shortswords and attacks the burning gnoll.

The gnoll’s attack slammed harmlessly against Misha’s armor. She twisted as the gnoll attacked Jill, and she thrusted her shield to deflect the blow to her. 

Reaction: Protection: reroll the attack on Jill at disadvantage. 

She gave a glance over to Natasha to make sure she was ok.

Grapple check using acrobatics: 19

 Natasha squeaks as she moves out of the way of the suicidal knoll trying to get a grab at her. "Bicho raro!"

Oni looks back towards Natasha hearing her yell and sees the burning gnoll. He ignores the gnoll attacking him and moves in front of Natasha ((not sure if it would cause an AOO since they were close together but Oni isn’t concerned if it does)). He casts Hexblades Curse on the gnoll as he yells in Infernal, ”get away from her!” He drops his crystal into his pocket and grips his blade with two hands slashing at the beast.

Dodging the side of the bite Kelric thrusts with his rapier into the exposed side of the gnoll following with a dagger to the chest when he turns to him

Gnoll fire damage: 6

The gnoll impales himself on Grum's shortswords and it's lifeless body falls slumps forward, still smoldering. 

Oni

The gnoll sizes the opportunity to lunge at Oni's unprotected back as he turns away to aid Natasha. Attack: 18 Damage: 3

The unexpected attack takes Oni off guard, and his subsequent strike is easily parried.

Kelric

The gnoll evades Kelric's rapier and dagger with ease. It's mocking laughter grates on the rogue's ears.

Misha

Disadvantage: Attack: 11 Damage: 6 (Scratch the 3 damage and just use the original 5)
