Carrus barges past the people who are entering and leaving the building, roughly pushing them out of the way if they are not quick enough to move by themselves and clearing a path for himself and Dicaeus.  I must speak with Lucine, he shouts.  Bring her here, now.   Intimidation  19

Pushing over a few people on your entry you find a small bakery inside the building. Breads and cakes laid out as a hearth on the backwall roars to life as a Young woman. No older then your little sister Carrus. Looks up to this intimidating man who has barged into the store. Her eyes widen as she drops a loaf of bread and takes off out a back door. People are now shouting for the guards to come. 

Carrus loudly curses his own stupidity, and races after her as fast as he can, shouting.  Wait, please!  I'm Cari's brother.  She's in trouble.

Dicaeus stops in the middle of the store's chaos, letting Carrus chase after the younger woman. "Someone has to talk care of this mess," he mutters before beginning to move his hands in well versed arcane pattern. "PLEASE, EVERYONE, QUIET DOWN!" The pale man's voice, amplified through the use of magic, booms throughout the the shop. Assuming that everyone does quiet their screaming, he continues in his regular voice. "That man's sister has disappeared, and her store has been ransacked. Obviously, he is quite distressed, but I assure you, no harm will come to Lucine. He just wishes to ask a few questions. There is no need to call the guards. If you all will just remain calm, then I can go calm down my companion before he disturbs anyone else. Thank you." He then moves out in the alleyway to follow the Paladin.

Persuasion: 14

Carrus you open the back door and find a closed alleyway that is filled with broken furniture and junk. The woman who you assume is Lucine, Is within sight but a good 100 feet away from you, in a full on sprint as she knocks over a broken chair behind her. She is Scared and running. 

Dicaeus your words do nothing to calm the masses, Hysteria and panic has taken the crowd and they are in full on mob mentality. Families are carrying their children away, some folk are helping the elderly move faster, carrying them if need be. All the commotion caused by Carrus and the Dire wolf has caused panic in the Bazaar. Drowning out the yells and various names being shouted, you can hear dozens of heavy footsteps; Marching in unison. From the western side of the Bazaar. 12 heavily armored and armed Olympian guards take the streets. One man, fully covered head to toe in heavy plate armor starts directing the other guards. 

He bangs on his shield with a longsword while a man walks up to him and points over at you Dicaeus. "EVERYONE MOVE BACK." He turns to you Dicaeus. "You, Pale one. You are hereby detained by the Guard of Olympia. Your crime, Disturbing the peace and causing unrest in the Southern Bazaar."

Simultaneously, the two dozen guards advance on the dire wolf. 10 of them with spears drawn and pointed at the beast. They begin to close in and circle you Cybele. 

Ok folk, this is a delicate situation here. Make you move. If you try to talk you way out of it a Persuasion/Deception check will be needed. 

Dicaeus turns slowly, raising his hands. "My good sir, please. I understand you are doing your job, but there's been a mistake. I'm not disturbing the peace, but merely trying to do my best to restore it. Tell me, why would an officer of the Greek Army, one of the chosen Four of Achilles, disturb the peace that he serves to protect?"

Persuasion: 29

Carrus continues to chase the woman, his suspicions growing.  How is a young woman who works in a bakery able to outpace him, given the last two years of training under Achilles?  He begins to suspect that all is not as it seems, and recalls that this woman left her position in the same shop as Cari shortly before some kind of attack.  He picks up the pace, as much as he can, and if he can get within 60 feet of the fleeing woman he will cast Command and order her to Halt!

My hangover has addled my brains- I should have just been a blasted dog. 

Cybele will lay down and put her chin on top of her paws with a heavy sigh- trying to appear as non threatening as possible. She'd wanted the wolf's longer legs and better speed. She'd expected people to be startled but hadn't expected this ruckus.

I'm too out of touch with the common folk.

(OOC: OOPS. Hopefully Anax is with her to do the talking, if not I'll have to change back and post again. Might have to do that anyway if things go poorly.)

She is putting distance between herself and you Carrus, She is fast on her feet. You've only ever seen Achilles move this fast before. Unfortunately at your full movement you cannot get in range for the spell. She takes a turn and vanishes from view for a few moments before you round the same turn. 40 feet ahead of you is a 15 foot high wall of stone. She is in the process of climbing it. 

Dicaeus the Man looks around at the people who are visibly frightened by the commotion. "You are one of the Four? Beg pardon sir, I did not know." The man pulls his helm off and takes a knee before you. "Commander Kruger at your service.....What was the commotion about if you do not mind my asking? I was informed that you and another barged into a bakery and started a ruckus." 

Dicaeus sighs. "I apologize, Commander. Another of Achilles's pupils returned home to discover his sister's shop in ruins. Obviously, this upset him, and we've been away for quite some time. He went about the following investigation at the bakery in a more... up front manner. Unfortunately, his armor and tone of voice spooked the civilians." He looks over the shoulder of Kruger, catching sight of Cybele's predicament. "Apparently Carrus isn't the only one who's forgotten how to behave on leave. I hate to ask, Commander, but would you order your men to let the wolf go? She's a friend of mine. Cybele hasn't been around any but us long time, and probably forgot how threatening she can appear."  Dicaeus begins to walk to Cybele in an attempt to stop the soldiers from spearing her.

Cybele will look over at Dicaeus, thumping her tail on the ground in a small wag and giving a miserable little rumble of embarrassment- like a domestic dog who knows they are in trouble.

...Except she's a wolf the size of a warhorse.

Carrus runs towards the wall as fast as he can, and shouts the word of Command:  Grovel!

The Woman had got to the top of the wall when she is hit by your Empowered word Carrus. She stops all movement and falls back. Falling 15 feet and hitting the compacted dirt below with a soft thud. she lays motionless.

The Woman takes 2 fall damage. 

Commander Kruger looks to the neighboring street where a group of soldiers have encircled and have begun advancing towards Cybele. "That is your pet? A strange beast to keep as a pet. If it listens to you I will call off the soldiers." 

As Carrus approaches her, he speaks the command word for his Animated Shield, causing it to float by itself and leaving his hands free.  He draws a dagger and attempts to Grapple the fallen woman, holding a dagger to her throat.  Athletics 22

Dicaeus calls out as he approaches the ring of soldiers. "Good men of Olympia, if you would please refrain from spearing my wolf while I prove that she will listen to me and cause no harm, that would be appreciated. Cybele, if would open your mouth?"He sticks his arm in the gaping maw, as far as he can comfortably go without causing Cybele to gag. He holds it there for nearly a full minute while stroking the wolf's fur. "That should be all the proof the good Commander needs that I can keep my pet under control."

Sparks of lightning fire off from the shield towards the ground as it stays aloft where you let go your grip. The shield hums with electrical energy that causes it glow dull. The woman attempts to resist your Grapple Carrus:

She attempts to slip out and almost does but you have a firm grip on her neck and the sight of the dagger tells her the chase is over.

Commander Kruger signals the men to lower their spears, which they do but they are keeping a close eye on the Dire Wolf. "Now, You may be a member of the Four but you cannot go threw the Bazaar with such a beast or causing unrest, The last thing we need around here is a raging mob which you could have caused." Kruger looks at the Dire Wolf and then at you Dicaeus. "Apologies sir but we need to escort you out of the District, Protocol demands it." 

Angry and embarrassed at his poor judgement back at the bakery, Carrus now has a firmer grip on his fear and his temper.  He lets his cold fury show in his face and voice, as he says in a low, dead voice.  Speak.  Everything.  If I am satisfied, I will hand you to the Guard for trial.  If I am not... the dagger presses into her neck just a little, drawing a trickle of blood.

(Once again, he is prepared to snatch the dagger away if his prisoner attempts to impale herself. ) 

Tears form in the womans eyes. As you initially suspected Carrus, she is no older then your younger sister, Perhaps even younger. Her face is sun kissed and her skin is smooth, Dark brown eyes and a head of brown hair. As you finish speaking the woman sighs and wipes the tears away from her face. "I know who you are Westcomer and I know why you are chasing me.......Isaac owed money to the wrong people, He got your sister mix-" Her sentence is cut short as a arrow sinks into her neck. Your head snaps up, the sunlight is almost blinding but you can make out a figure, with their back to the sun. A short bow in one hand and a quiver at their side. A long cloak hangs from their shoulders. Unfortunately you cant really make out any details of the persons face. 

The figure dashes across the rooftops and vanishes from sight. The Woman is coughing up blood, Unable to catch her breath. "Der....ic" Her body relaxes as she uses her final breath to speak a name. 

Carrus watches the shadowy figure go, knowing he has little chance of catching them wearing heavy armour and from such a distance.  He looks down at the woman, and sheathes his dagger.

I am sorry, Lucine.  You died afraid because of me, and I think you did not deserve it.  He bows his head and prays to the Gods to welcome Lucine's soul and be kind to it.  He stares down at her, wishing he had a cape or something to cover her with, but sighs, stands, lifts her and walks back towards the bakery to find Dicaeus and the others. 

Okay, we're pretending I'm a normal animal then.

Cybele will allow Dicaeus to put his arm in her mouth. When he's done she will put her nose to the ground and give it a heavy sniff while maintaining eye contact. She'll then 'point' like a trained hound toward the South Gate.
