Nok scoffs, letting out a sigh. "Miss Misha, this is Nik Nik...my sister. She comes to help."

Misha looks down at Nik Nik, as if expecting a leg of pork. She looks her up and down, in a very scrutinizing way. "Very well. Misha suppose team could use another chimp."

Nik Nak beams at Misha. "Pleasure to meet you, you must be Miss Misha! I'm Nik Nak, priestess of Mystra and helping to save the world now I guess?"

“More like saving the Prime Material plane than saving the world, Miss Nak. By the way, it’s an honor to have you join us on our quest. You fight like an angel!” she spouts, whilst shaking her hand vigorously. 

Misha smiles at Nik Nak. "Hello, Tic Tok, very nice to meet you. I am sad to hef heard about Yoska, but am honored to hef you on team as new member. Pleasure to hef someone else besides Cock Block to carry theengs." she smiles. "Deed you guys run eento trouble? I see you all found another vehicle..and Tormentor looks..chewed up."

Nik Nak beams and shakes Seph's hand back, then giggles at Misha. "Oh, we met some animal people who tried to...eat the Tormentor? I dunno. Anyway, we killed the captain and the crew ran away."

Jill walks up to Misha and Nik Nak with the map of Avernus that they totally have. "Bonjour, I am called Jill Moon." She points towards the Spawning Pools on the map. "I think that we should go here."

Misha nods sagely. "Very well, Jeel. Let us see who weeshes to go weeth us thees time." She turns to the group. "Who among us wants to go!" 

Persephone raises her hand!

The news of Yoska's passing caused Amelia to really realize the situation they were in, and she looked to Corrin who had teared up a bit at the revelation. First, Allynna leaving, now Yoska falling in battle. It proved that this place wouldn't be some walk in the park. She worried for her daughter but she watched as Corrin raised her hand in going along on this new mission. 

"I'll go..." The tiefling says quietly, the blonde frowning a bit as she wraps an arm around the other's shoulder.

"Me too."

THE SPAWNING TREES

A long rest was had, and the Demongrinder underwent repairs. The Demongrinder had a massive wrecking ball manned by one person, and huge metal jaws that nearly ripped the Tormentor apart just the other day. Everyone fit in the Demongrinder, so after placing a Soul Coin in the slot, the Grinder roared across the Infernal horizon to the Spawning Trees.

Treelike growths cluster along the shoreline of a lake of bubbling, black goo. Each growth is formed from the same ichor as the lake and has writhing, membranous sacs budding from its limbs. Five bearded fiends heap coals around the trunk of one of the trees. As they hurl more coals onto the pyre, four of their number cruelly poke and tease the fifth member of their group.

Lakes of demonic ichor appear where demons are slaughtered in great numbers. Malformed trees grow on their shorelines, their branches laden with fleshy sacs. As you approach, you can see that they eventually flop to the ground and wetly break open, each one releasing a fully grown abyssal chicken. Misha says, "Euuchh. Abyssal chickens are carnivorous, temperamental, tasty bottom-feeders native to the Abyss. They beat their leathery wings to scare predators and to help them run faster, and they taste like fatty chicken."

(Zariel dispatches infernal cleanup crews to scour the lake shores for the trees and destroy them before they become thickets. It looks like a work crew of five bearded devils are in the process of raising a pyre around a tree to incinerate it. As mentioned, four of the devils appear to be teasing the fifth, who seems to have suffered major head trauma. He has an abyssal chicken in his backpack, and is being goaded into killing the other free ones that are running about.)

Persephone wakes up feeling refreshed, and back to her old self again....barely.

Upon seeing the disgusting trees, spawning the disgusting chickens, she struggles to hold back the vomit as it attempts to leave her stomach (CON ST check: 8).  But isn't successful.  She manages to recycle this morning's breakfast.

Nik Nak shakes her head when it's asked if she wants to go along, and elects to go through the BaneArch today for killing devils. Her arcane turning and banishing is very useful on the Acheronian field!

Good Jill looks at the chickens. "If we kill those devils, can we take the chickens? Or at least one of them?"

"Do they lay eggs?  Deviled eggs?"  Persephone chuckles quietly at her lame joke.

It was strange, Amelia noticed, one moment Corrin is crying about Yoska's death, and another she seems to be okay, already readying her bow at the mention of killing some devils. "Yeah let's kill the devils!"

"Let's just be careful for right now..."

"Ugh, why be careful when we're gonna fight anyways?"

Amelia is taken aback by the back talk, Corrin never doing so. "E-excuse me?"

Corrin just rolls her eyes at her mom and turns back to the devils. "Whatever, we gonna get the drop on 'em or not?"

The older woman looks to the others, stunned to silence, half wanting to smack her across the mouth, the other half wondering what she did wrong in her parenting.

Jill shrugs at Amelia who is confused by Corrin's behavior.

"She might be putting it rudely, but she is right. We do have the drop on them."

Persephone gently nudges Jill..."You go talk to 'em.  We'll cover you, from waaaaaay back here!"

"While I trust that the four of you would aid me if I needed it, I am going to have to say no to fighting five devils by myself, as I do not wish to die today."

"Ha!" Misha barked. "Leetle Preencess eager to smash devils. I like eet!" She got out of the Demongrinder. "Come, let us go introduce ourselves to them. Violently. Then Jeel can have cheekens eef she weesh."
