Seeing as the others have adequately chosen their gifts, he approaches the shield, kneels, takes a moment to latch his old shield over his back, then dons the sentinel shield, rising and testing its weight briefly, "This seems rather adequate." he turns to face the dryads, "I thank you again for this opportunity to help, noble spirits, I hope your trust in me will not be misplaced." he turns to the others, "A map would be useful, I do not deny, but as fate brought us all here, I have no doubt that it will guide us towards our destiny once again." finally turning his head to face south with a furrowed brow and thoughtful look.
Mokk will take the cloak and put it on over his simple garb, attempting to make it look more like a cape then anything else. He will then look at the others with a curious brow. "Is this worth my original ten gold per day charge?"
Saying faiwell to our adventurers, she presents them with a badly scribbled map, showing that soon in the path they'd need to choose to go by the mountain tops or the caves, she warns that perils await on both
Grimalkin takes the map, and mumbles to Mokk without looking at him “It’s worth a sight more, so take care of it.”
Grimalkin starts down the path.
Once they’re a distance away from the dryads: “Now is the time if you wish to know strengths of our group. I would not trust every dryad, especially when they’re paying you. You never know when they’ll turn on you.” With a look back at Ghaoth, “I am a student of the Night School. I have many talents, and patience for idle bullshit is not one of them. I can scout, and track, steal, and kill... and quietly. You’ll see. Or not.”
Not sure why he has earned this mans ire Ghaoth remains silent his eyes narrow at and for some reason he hopes Grimalkin steps on a snake. his eyes avert then he looks for danger while his crossbow taps on the saddle he debates whether or not
he should help him if he is in trouble. Anyone who looks at him will note a dark look on his face sensing his masters anger Tapper growls a deep growl both sets of magical eyes glow, in the dark forest light halflings and Wolfhound
Mokk nods at this and wraps the cloak around himself even more, looking as though he will chase off anyone that might try to take it away from him. "Let us get this job done then. The sooner we get back the less trouble I will get from the others..."
Grimalkin stops and looks back with hands raised. “No threat intended. I see now how that could be taken that way. My mistake.”
Grimalkin draws a small knife from his pack, then reaches for one of the shorter, thin braids on his head. “I’m told I can be... unnecessarily abrasive.” And he cuts the braid back an inch, before tying it off again at its new length.
”I am meaning to say that I have skills that will be of use to us. I can be quiet and I prefer the quiet.” Grimalkin takes a drink after grimmacing, as though talking so much hurt his throat.
IC: Ghaoth calms slowly down taking deep breaths he mentally tells Tapper to do so also though he still growls at Grimalkin
"Grimalkin, I think we got off on the wrong foot, but continue to talk I don't mind. I myself prefer to not."
He shrugs
"If, you wish to know what I can do, I've been a hunter, a ranger all my life. I could be near you in the dark with dark vision and you wouldn't see me. Most creatures would become pin cushions before they could act against me and Tapper. Some would call me a Gloom stalker."
He shakes his head
"I don't think some of my abilities will work against Demons. But I guess we will find out"
As Will waits a few feet from the party he sees the Dryads hand Grimalkin a note of some kind...a map he over hears, "Why didn't I think of that" he mutters to himself.
Watching the exchange between Ghaoth and Grimalkin unfold, Will turns to Mokk, "I agree Mokk...let us begin this journey."
Facing Grimalkin, "Grimalkin...Which direction does the map point?"
OOC: the maps are only scribbeled, not actually following any measurements

The elf was calmly analyzing the map with his companions when the screeches pierced the calm forest, "Harpies!?" he raises his shield and twists around hoping to catch sight of something as he braces himself.
While still nothing is in sight a boulder comes in the direction of Mokk HIt: 15 dmg 30 (surprise attack)
Looking at the direction it came from they see a great ape coming from the forest 30ft away
OOC: You can all do your turns in or out of order, I consider simply "monsters turns" and "players turns" as the lowest rolling player rolled as much as the monster all players have their turn before the monster
"Watch out!" the elf instinctively ducks as the boulder approaches, crashing upon the goblin nearby, he grimaces at his companion's pain, but turns back towards the forest, proceeding to dash towards the direction the projectile came from in hopes of reaching the enemy.
OOC: Using the dash action in order to reach an enemy, if able to reach one before dashing, will proceed to cast green-flame blade .

Facing Grimalkin, "Grimalkin...Which direction does the map point?"
He stands awaiting a response...
“Two routes. With our party’s strengths, I think this series of caves will be our path.”
Grimalkin will show Will the map showing a path through caves and another through mountain tops.
(can we tell how long these routes are? I’m debating when an appropriate time to use Pass Without Trace would be)
