Sensing from Pensieve that the others are close behind, Zeno will slip into the fissure, carefully checking for traps as he goes:

"Who's the best at tracking or sneaking or both? I can turn someone invisible so help them stay on our quarry," Kastix messages everyone he can. 

Hgraam warned us not to turn invisible, it will actually draw attention to us.  Kaylyn returns the thought hoping this communication was 2 way.  Pensive, follow behind Zeno about 50 feet and let us know where he is going. She messages to the pseudodragon.  I will follow behind you and try to stay about that far behind you. Keep us updated.

As Kaylyn reaches the fissure she hopes to meet with the others and tells them the plan to have Pensive keep track of Zeno and that they can follow from further behind and be close to help if needed.

Rhayna and Kastix depart the tower and head back down through the gates. On the way Pensive flies over with mental images updating them on the quickest path to Zeno, along with a sense of danger associated with any spells of invisibility. They arrive at the fissure to find Kaylyn and Joetaro waiting there, and Sekkar arrives soon after, appearing suddenly as if out of nowhere. The final telepathic communication from Pensive before the pseudodragon rests once more on Kaylyn's shoulder is that Zeno has quickly slipped into the fissure to check for any danger.

A few moments later Zeno returns and informs everyone of his findings. The fissure extends for several hundred feet downward into the rock before opening into a cavern filled with stalactite and stalagmites, the former dripping water into several pools on the floor. Fungi are abundant, and faerzress is heavy throughout the caves. The tracks leading in and out are very few, suggesting that even among the derro this place is a secret.

"Fungi is abundant you say?" Rhayna reaches for her backpack. "Perhaps Stool might be of help." After the myconid is on the ground. "Do you sense any of your people?"

Zeno thinks for a moment. “I’m sure this is the hideout for the Gray Ghosts. We could go poke around a bit, see if we can find out some more info about them, any connections into the Stone Gaurd. That’s what everyone wants here, right? Where they’re operating out of and what’s driving them?”

"I say we poke around and find any information," Joetaro replies. "Any information will help." 

""Poke around" where and how?" It was not a sarcasm but the genuine question. "The buggers on the streets are mad as rabid rats and do not care about our status here. You think this is where they hide - let's investigate that hole. Perhaps Pensive can sneak inside and take a look around?"

“That’s what I meant, Sekkar.  Let’s go in, then.  Sekkar and I can take point.”

Sekkar nodded and squeezed in after Zeno Stealth 18

"I doubt i can keep message going with all of this faerzess," Kastix comments as he looks around for spot out of sight, "Are we all going in?"Gods dammit ,"

"I am ready. Are you ready Stool?" Rhayna crouches down, and makes sure Stool is OK. "Would you like to lead the way? Also, please use your spores so it's easier for us to communicate. Thank you Stool."

Zeno and Sekkar enter the fissure first, followed by Joetaro and Kaylyn, then Rhayna and Stool, with Kastix and Sarith bringing up the rear. The now-familiar sensation of the group telepathy that results from Stool's spores can be felt, and the group are able to communicate with each other without making a sound.

The fissure leads into the cavern that Zeno found earlier. The glow of faerzress casts an eerie soft light across this cavern, swirling into spiral patterns and casting dancing shadows from the jagged pillars lining the walls. The air smells and tastes slightly metallic, and the sound around you is strangely muted. The dripping of water makes no echo, as if you stood in open air.

Everyone please make a Wisdom saving throw.

Stool seems to be communicating a sense of curious but still uncertain excitement at a somewhat familiar sensation in the air.

Sarith is more quiet than usual.

It has been a couple of minutes since Droki was seen entering the fissure, but the sound of muttering can still be heard echoing on the cavern walls.
