Peering through the gloomy half-light that softly glows from the phosphorescent mushrooms growing from the walls and ceiling, Pax can see the dim figure of Zeno far below. He seems to have landed right beside the gathered Inner Circle of myconids, almost landing on top of them, and has disturbed the reverie of their melding. Phylo is looking up at the broken gap in the palisade, and Basidia moves toward Zeno and produces some spores to aid in communication. Meanwhile Pax scrambles quickly down the terraces to approach Zeno and cast her spells.

Other Circles are gathered throughout the grove, including one nearby, but they continue their melding.

(Not really in 'turns' anymore, but Zeno is 100' away, so not far to move before getting in healing range. Zeno is currently on the lowest HP of the group)

Kaylyn moved out of the are and joined the others.  As they stopped to catch their breath she again vomits.  She waves a hand in front of her face but seems incapable of doing the most basic of magic for the moment.  Concern radiates from Pensive who shares this emotions with the others, though at a low level so as not to overwhelm then.

"Hold on, I think I might be feeling better."

She again turns away from the others and again vomits.  She then wipes her mouth and turns back.  

"Ugh, better now for sure."

Kaylyn moves to follow Pax down the terraces.

"I say we put some distance between us and this place," Kastix states. 

Zeno lays in the dirt, mouth and nose buried in the soil. “Orff,” Zeno says. Zeno rolls to his back. “Ow,” Zeno says.  Zeno stands to his feet. “Holy hells,” Zeno says.

Zeno is disappointed, because he knows better than to jump off a cliff. But Zeno is not okay.

He looks around, at the disturbed circle of myconids, wiping blood and dirt from his nose. “Ow,” he says.  Then his eyes focus past the myconids, and he begins looking around frantically.  “Run! Before the whole place crushes us!  The walls! The ceiling! Hurry!”  Zeno begins to run away from the myconids and towards his companions which seems safer.  He nearly runs into Paz and accepts her healing.  (Do I get the cure wounds as well?)

Rhayna sees her friend leaving the wedding venue, and she also sees the groom passing by her so fast she almost wasn't sure if it was Zeno. Utterly confused, she runs after her friends. Something, or someone is calling her back, but she decides to leave her own wedding nonetheless. Back in her mind, she knows that she will hear that voice in her head again.

"Friends... What Happened?" Before Rhayna can finish her sentence, she hears Pax say something about madness and charms. As the group follows Pax, and she follows the group. She then sees that Zeno may have fallen, and he is in bad shape. She runs to him, and uses one of the beads from her necklace to heal her husband to be. (Cure Wounds lvl2: 15)

After she helps Zeno. "Beloved Zeno... Friends!! What is happening?? Why did everyone leave my wedding???"

Sekkar gave the strong female an approving nod - she was on the right path though still way too far from the Demon Lady. She had the right idea, though - healing. He summoned snake spirit ( Healing Spirit ) and let it coil around himself first (7 HP) then looked at Kaylyn, and sent it over to her ( 3 HP) for   (Lesser Restoration was from the item, should not use spell slots, right?)

"Too much joy, Rhayna. We were overwhelmed." He looked at his freshly healed wound and added. "Was interesting, though. May be if we leave now we can catch some of the runners?" Sekkar was agree with Kastix - demon was not something they could (or should) fight, but it did not seem everyone were on board with the running idea. Some needed a little persuasion.

(Zeno gets both healings, for a combined of (gasp of breath) 6 hps.  Sigh, sorry about those rolls.) 

Pax looks at the group, "You're both right of course, we should get some distance from this demon. It's dangerous. Let's go this way."  She walks, determined, directly towards the group of Myconids that Zeno had just run from, and approached, looking for the leader.  "We have important information for you about your kin!" 

The group gather together and check on each other's welfare, with some ready to depart, but none so much as Zeno who feels disaster impending. Other myconid circles scattered around the grove seem to be also cutting their meldings short, sensing that important activity is occurring. The myconids in the nearby circle, including Basidia and Phylo, turn to face Pax as she approaches to hear what she has to say...

Zeno has a brief moment of clarity looking at Rhayna as she and Pax heal him. Then it’s gone, and, feeling much refreshed, but still panicked, Zeno begins looking about frantically for a large stick or pole or something to keep the walls and ceiling of this cave from crushing all of them.

Pax looks to Basidia and Phylo, and forcefully and without preamble starts talking, "Your kin have been seduced by a powerful fungal demon named Zuggtmoy. Do not bother attempting to deny or refute this. Our friend was charmed by her fungal spores and we were forced to go to the eastern plateau to rescue her...and there the demons influence was obvious...and that large structure is her home being built by your charmed brethren. You are all in great danger. Speaking of which, while we fought to rescue our friend from the demon's fungal spawn, many of my allies were infected with spores that seem to be hurting their minds. Do you have any way to cleanse them of these spores?"

Kaylyn steps up with Pax, "This is Phylo's doing, he is in league with demons to enslave you all.  Purge the evil from your midst!"

Phylo doesn't seem at all perturbed by the accusation, but rather begins rejoicing. The exuberance that is projected through his spores is almost overwhelming, and seems to spread spontaneously through the entire colony. The day of joy is here! he pronounces. Rejoice one and all, for the Great Seeder has shown herself at last! Several others in his circle take up the call, and it is soon heard from other parts of the grove. The Circle of Builders high up on the terrace in the north and the Circle of Sowers in the grove below are the most enthusiastic. The Circle of Growers who previously acted neutral seem to have finally succumbed to the alien spores, and they too join in the revelry. Myconids also appear in the gaps in the palisade above, and well over a dozen echo the call from the so-called Circle of Masters.

Only the Circle of Hunters near the entrance, the group to which Stool belongs, watch on silently. Basidia observes all of this and projects a message to the visitors: So this is the key. The Great Seeder of which they speak is a demon queen. Her influence has spread too far and is too powerful for us to overcome. We must depart, and we must do so now while they are in their ecstasy. Basidia looks over to the Circle of Hunters who seem to have the same idea and are moving slowly toward the exit.

Kaylyn listens and watches.  She address the companions.  "We must leave as well, we cannot defend that which they won't themselves and we are not strong enough to overcome the demonlord." 

Pax looks around, "Totally agree Kaylyn. If they're not going to fight for themselves, we're not hangin around.  Basidia, can you do anything for my friends and the influence of the spores?  They remain confused and under delusions..."

Pax starts heading for the exit, ensuring her friends are with her.

"Finally!" Sekkar was all for leaving and as fast as possible, but one matter remained - Zeno's conditions. Mushrooms did not hurry with the help (probably could not, lizardman did not blame them). He looked the man up and down, clicked his tong and closed eyes for a moment, asking (inner voice, of course) Dawnbringer: "Any way you can help?" The sword did not have a head to shake but sounded in Sekkar's mind is if he did. "I can not. But your priest can. To others as well - you all need help here."

Sekkar ignored the second part, but tapped Rhayna's shoulder: "Your man needs some restoration or he can not go anywhere and we have to leave now. Remember? Catching runners?" Considering his part to be done he tried to reach Basidia "Where we are going?"

At Sekkar’s suggestion, Rhayna takes a bead from her necklace and casts Lesser Restoration on Zeno. “Ok... Now where are we going?? Demon Queen... Where??” Says the cleric bewildered.

Zeno stops in his tracks, looks up at Rhayna, then blushes bright red.  “Thanks,” he barely manages to stammer out. “That’s a big relief.”  Then he looks around, remembers where they are, and says, “Yeah, let’s get the heck out of here.”

Kaylyn moves to follow Basidia and the Circle of Hunters.  She urges the companions to go as well if any are reluctant.

"Do we have a destination that puts us very far from a demon lord?" Kastix question as he half drags, half walks with the party, "That's number 2 we've seen? There's like 8-9 total right?"

Pax glares at kastix, “what, you want to collect them all or something?!? I think we were headed to the gnome village from here to get an escort back to the surface.”
