Name: Thorik Stoutbrow
Race: Mountain Dwarf
Class: Paladin
Age: 112
Background: Acolyte
Backstory (A brief one at least): Thorik's childhood was relatively simple and uneventful. He had a loving family and a very optimistic outlook on life and the world around him. Once he had saved up enough money, he left his relatively small home town and headed for the city. Excited for the new opportunities and experience, Thorik went through the city taking in everything he could. His joy and excitement turned to sadness and anger as he further explored the city and found himself in a seeder part of town. All around him was crime and squalor. When he witnessed a man getting beaten and mugged down the street in front of him, he decided that there needed to be changed. He sought out a temple to Torm and began his study of the laws and ways of the church. After a few years, Thorik became a warrior and arbiter for Torm and has been combating evil since.
Backstory: Originally from a family of wealth and power, Patrice came upon a different path as she followed a thief from her house at a young age. Impressed by her skills, she was taken on as an apprentice and came into her own as both a thief and assassin.
Wanted to post here to make sure people knew why they may not have been contacted. If you do not post more than ability scores I do not contact you. There are four posts so far with nothing but ability scores. If you want in, and are willing to be active at least daily, then please reply and add in your character details in a new post. If you rolled, and did not reroll all 1s, then go ahead and reroll stats as well. I am not going to keep going back to make sure you didn't update your posts several days after your actual post.
Backstory: Hailing from Redricksholm, home of Clan Redrikson, Hvitserk grew up surrounded by his extended family. Having heard of his grandfather's exploits in his younger days, Hvitserk yearned to be an adventurer from a young age. Cousin to Olaf and Jörlk through their mother's brother, Hvitserk served for many years as a mercenary, escorting caravans across the mountains and waging war against goblins, orcs, and goliaths. Having left home when he was only 25, Hvitserk matured in war, something that has left him with an unceasing hatred of his enemies.
Sidenote: some of my buddies and I have been searching for a game where we could do an extended family type deal where multiple PCs are from the same dwarf clan. Let me know if this interests you.
Backstory: The quill hovered above the page for a moment, his hum faltering as he thinks over what to share.
I was born in an orphanage, and never really knew my parents. I learned early on that you take care of yourself because no one else is going to. After getting in trouble with the guard a few too many times, I managed to convince a Lord to take pity on me and send me off to college instead of hard labor. I picked up a few tricks there that have helped keep me out of trouble since. Not that I haven't gone back to my old ways mind, just that now I find I get caught less often.

This build works best starting at level 5 where the rogue and bard elements are both pulling their own weight. It could be wound back to 3 conceivably, but it would be difficult to keep the same backstory and wind it all the way back to 1.
Durlin was born into rigid hobgoblin society and always hated the tyranny of the rulers. After being exiled for being not-rule abiding, he decided to foil tyrants, and was on the run for several years for large bounties on his head because of the trouble he caused. He has traveled the land looking to invoke justice and trickery upon evil and finds himslef traveling with trustworthy individuals for certain tasks, never revealing his true identity

"I used to be a keeper. One of those guys who's like, "Nature is cool, man. Don't light a campfire in a drought if you want the forest to keep on foresting", you know? So I did the keeping thing for a couple of years. It was an alright gig, lots of cool guys hanging out just taking it easy with mother nature. Then one day these colorful frogs jumped up to us, while we were minding our own business. And, maaaan. The frogs must have been tripping or something cause they like, tore my pals open right, lots of blood and stuff, and jumped through this hole in the air. Like a literal hole in the air with flashing lights and darkness and stuff inside. So I jumped in after them, right? To tell them how what they did was bad and not cool, but the place was scary as hell, man. All floating rocks and twisting swirls and... well I just jumped back like "Naaah, man. I'm going home, this is too spooky for ol' Ignatz." Now everybody back home thinks I chased those froggies away, but I was just bailing myself out of there, you know? You know."

The clothes and leathers from the Waesvyre family are considered to be high quality and sought after from the region. For as long as the population can remember the family has produced high quality goods for a reasonable price. Feanaro was born into the family as a second son and has proven no less a craftsman than the rest of his family, though in his heart he had always dreamed of wielding the power of a wizard.
While he was not the next in line to take over the family business, he learned all he could and kept the high bar of quality nonetheless. His skills did not end at the family's traditional weaving and leatherworking, he also had a knack for more mechanical tasks. Creating little toys or mechanical knick knacks that he would often give away as gifts. He even taught himself to carve wood into many shapes and sizes.
As he grew older his ability with trades drew the attention of a wandering master of a rare form of arcana, Artificing. This new path Feanaro was on brought him to new experiences, he was now on the path he had always hoped for, magic.
Having finished filling out the form, Robar returns it to the Warforged - but neglects to return the quill or the ink well. Instead they manage to find their way into his pack.
Sleight of Hand for giggles: 8
The attempt is clumsy and obvious, but he holds his breath waiting to see how the being will respond.
Hector grew up in a village in Rachemen. He was a beautiful young man, strong, talented, a gift to his village.
As was the law in Rashemen, the witch that ruled the land where his village was located had the right to take any man from any village into her service. When Hector turned 18 the soldiers came and took him to the witches palace to be trained as a member of the guard.
The training Hector received was excellent and he was well liked and a natural leader. Things were going well. However, Hector noticed something strange.
In addition to serving the witch as soldiers, the witch, on occasion, took the men who served her into her bed. Hector noticed that no matter how strong the man was when claimed by the witch, he came back changed -- somehow less.
One night the witch sent for Hector. As he was being led to her chamber, his will got the better of him. He broke free, disarmed the guard, killed the man and fled into the night.
He fled to the only other place he knew, back to his village. Unfortunately, the witches forces were mounted and got there before he did, killing everyone and burning his home to the ground.
Hector arrived while the village was still in flame. Realizing the role his rashness played in the destruction of his home and all that he loved, he suddenly remembered the stone of the ancestors in the main hall. He knew it had to be rescued and, feeling responsible, charged into the main hall. As he entered the hall collapsed and Hector was knocked unconscious.
He awoke days later, completely burned beyond recognition, clutching the ancestor's stone. Somehow, he had been spared.
He moved into the wilderness, avoiding the witches guard, protecting surrounding villages and righting petty injustices. But, that drew the attention of the witch and he was forced to flee.
Someday he will return and kill the witch who took his people from him. First, he needs money and men.
Ash Falfaren has a passion for his two loves, combat, women and nature.
Ash was born to the mighty elven warrior Maibel Lacilin Falfaren, or Laci, as her peers called her. Maibel never divulged Ash’s father’s name and was a single mother until she wed the sorceress Christina Kagney.
The mothers knew Ash was no genius, so they emphasized the importance of being a good person and helping others. When they discovered his love for nature, they enlisted different trainers to instruct him in the ways of the ranger. Given their relationship, they also stressed the importance of being open minded toward all races and species.
Originally born in Myth Drannor, Laci moved her family to the Dalelands after the city began its war with the Netheril Empire. The couple would assist the elven city over the years, leaving young Ash in the care of adventurers. His first job was as a bouncer for the Old Skull Inn in Shadowdale, though he would help others. When he reached adulthood, Ash accompanied Kagney and Laci to Myth Drannor one last time. It was there Laci learned her sister made a pact with a demon for power. This time, the family left Myth Drannor for good.
Ash continued to progress as an archer and skilled tracker and found his way to the Sword Coast, working at bars. Although Ash is calm, he would get into tussles with local drunks who wanted to test themselves against the “elf princeling.” One evening in Luskan, Ash helped a pair of orc rangers. He later met their sister, Songbird. Admiring her strength and will, Ash formed a relationship with Songbird, eventually marrying and living near the city of Neverwinter.
Ash devoted his life to Songbird and the two enjoyed a life together. Being that orcs have a much shorter lifespan than elves, he remained youthful while she grew older. Knowing her husband had a full life ahead of him, Songbird made Ash promise he would devote his life to helping other rangers, and to continue living. After spreading her ashes in the mountains, Ash returned to the Sword Coast, keeping his promise.
Backstory: See https://ddb.ac/characters/20184860/MFZFVO for his full backstory. In brief, Rober is the inheritor of a sacred relic of Eldath, a figurine called "Lady of Hope." His family was slaughtered by the followers of Jergal who have long sought the figurine. Rober does not know why or why the figurine is important. With his dying breath, Rober's father told him to seek his sister who would have the answers...the sister he never knew he had.
Harukai was a quiet soul who was content to live out his life in service to Ilmater, but fate had other ideas. Less ecclesiastical in his interests, he often was tasked with accompanying the faithful as protection rather than as spiritual fellow. Thus it was that he accompanied a small contingent of priests into the catacombs beneath the abbey to visit the honored dead. Harukai does not speak of the next few days, but observant companions have heard him thrash while dreaming some nights, fighting off some nameless fear. What is known is that the abbey fell in smoke and flame into a great pit that opened below, and Harukai was found, barely alive, at its edge. Leaving his past behind once he had healed enough to travel, Harukai set off into new lands, trying to make a new start for himself and somehow make sense of a faith that failed his brothers but spared his own life...
...and he found that new purpose, helping the people of Phandelver throw off their oppressors and reclaim their mines. With he and his companions hailed as heroes, he decided to stay in town and open up a small monastery to both spread the faith and train the townsfolk in case evil days once again loomed...But Ilmater's plans may be different for him, and occasionally he glimpses far off places full of adventure in his dreams.
