The bones are very ancient.

"Oy there!" A voice calls from behind one of the rock piles as one of the stones rattles down its side. From behind the Eastern pile two dwarfs come out, looking around as they spot the group. "What ye throwin rocks at us fer?" The speaker asks in a gruff tone.
"Oh be silent you old coot." The other dwarf says, giving his companion a jab to his ribs with an elbow. Looking at the group then... "Dazlyn and Norbus at your service. What brings you out to this farflung part of the North?"

Absentmindedly, "You do." And go right back to studying the temple, pulling out his whisper jar and talking into it, describing what he sees for future research.

 "Whew, dwarvez iz still alive," says last Tree Standing. "We iz come to warn you about the dragon. A white dragon haz moved into the vicinity, and you may be in danger of becoming short and hairy, but tasty, dragon snacks."

Both dwarfs instantly glance skyward in worry.

"Dragon ye say?" The more friendly of the two asks, after not seeing any sign of a dragon in the sky.  "Well that does be a problem..."  He glances towards his companion.  "Too bad we cannot just hide out inside the temple huh?"  He asks his companion, who just huffs in irritation, stomping back behind the rock pile once more. "You'll have to excuse him, he's not too happy just now..."

"Excuse me for a moment," Fyste turns to the party, "We were called for a job right? Who has the contract again?" Fyste will put his back dagger back into their holders. 

"Well I would assume Walter has it." Leann says to Fyste as she gives the dwarf a nod of greeting.  "He is the documancer, but he's back in Phandalin, so not sure that does us much good out here..."  She shrugs though.  "From what I recall we were just suppose to give the nice dwarfs here the warning about the dragon though, then we could report back for our reward."

"Yeah, just warning waz the deal, but the Townzmaster iz a jerk who will probably demand some kind of proof before paying. So, why iz it you can not hide in temple?" Last Tree Standing asks.  "It looks way big enough for the two of you guyz."

The dwarf looks over the group with a speculative glance.  "You were sent to warn us by the Phandalin Town Master then?"  He asks.  he looks towards the temple and then glances back to the group.  "As for why we cannot hide in the temple, it has some creatures inside that drove us out last time we went inside." He shrugs.  "How about a deal?  If you help us get rid of the critters inside, me and me companion will trade you a set of Sending Stones we have...  Plus we will give you a letter saying you warned us about the dragon."

"I want to check over the details of the job. I'm bad remembering that stuff," Fyste nods his head before turning to the dwarves and listening, "I'm fine with cut up some things, half expected it,"

"Kind of expected that for the price, this job would involve messiness. I iz ready."

Sending stones would be very useful, and so would the 50gp they were offered for the job...50gp they were not likely to get without the dwarves' letter.

Reginald chimes in, "Sorry for the rocks, having come onto the scene and seeing no life I was a bit on edge and wary of some piles of rocks just sitting randomly in the area. The place does look like it was attacked and seeing the dwarf bones over there" pointing to the bones, "one can never be too careful."

Pulling out my flask, "Here have a drink, its not ale just water but if we meet again in Phandelin drinks will be on me. We are members of the "Company of Dragons" and have set up camp in the area to help keep it safe and to take out said dragon. And I forget myself, Reginald is my name."

"So what type of critters are in the temple and we would be happy to help you out? Especially for a few sending stones, thank you."

The dwarf gladly takes a swig of water.  "Definitly will hit you up in town for that drink, when we get around to getting supplies again."  He says with a grin for Reginald.  "As fer what those critters are, we're not exactly sure, some sort of ooze or something me thinks."

Seruk will move away from the temple over to the dwarves, "There are worse things down in the dark, believe me. But we should be able to handle them for you, if the company agrees. Perhaps, as a small add-on favour, could you send us a copy of what you've learned here? If we're going to be operating in the area, we should probably be alert to its history, just in case it comes back to dominate us later."

"We'll do one better than that if you help us clear the entire place of the goo we saw..."  The friendly dwarf says with a grin.  "If ye will help me and me partner clear the place out, we'll split half of everything we find with ye..."

"What have you, or do you expect to, find here?"

"Sweeeeeet!" yells Last Tree Standing. "Let's bust us some oozies!"

Without waiting for the others, she runs to the temple doors, skids to a stop, and then slips in stealthily...just in case, ya know, they haven't heard her coming yet. (Stealth 17)

And she looks around.  (Peception 19)

"Ignore the old coot."  The friendly one says, glaring over his shoulder.  "We haven't found much, to be sure, but we have not gone into any of the temple areas, since we were driven out as soon as we tried.  There is bound to be something in there, who knows what it might be..."  Clearly the dwarf is very excited about the prospects.

About now Last Tree takes off towards the temple grounds...
