"I think that might be the issue..." Leann says with a sigh. She reaches into a satchel at her side and pulls out a thick folder. She opens it and starts to look over what is inside.
"Let's see..." she says, glancing through the folder, which appears to have a decent amount of pages inside of it as she pages through. After going through it once she returns to the first. She then reads the below from the pages, clearly editing out legal speak so that it will be easier for the rest of you to understand...
Who: Obaya Uday What: Offers to pay for any unwanted magic items found in Undermountain. Payment: Pays the following for magic items: Common - 10 pp, Uncommon - 50 pp, Rare - 500 pp, Very rare - 5,000 pp pays the following for spellbook based on the highest-level spell contained in it: 5 pp for 1st level, 25 pp for 2nd or 3rd level, 100 pp for 4th or 5th level, 250 pp for 6th or 7th level, and 500 pp for 8th or 9th level. Restraints: Limit 7,500 pp worth of magic items and spellbooks.

Details: pouch contains three moonstones worth 50 gp each. Who: Esvele Rosznar What: Keep an eye out for Kressando. Description: A 22-year-old man with fair skin and dark curly hair, trained in the arts of stealth and thievery, and wears a platinum signet ring bearing the Rosznar family crest (a diving white falcon on a field of blue) and an inscription of the family motto (“Fly high and stoop swift”). Payment: A favor from House Rosznar.
Who: Volothamp Geddarm Details: This story dates to the fall of Illefarn, an elven kingdom of the North. An alabaster throne belonging to Syglaeth Audark, the last coronal of Illefarn, disappeared from the capital city of Aelinthaldaar, where the Mad Mage built his tower and today stands Waterdeep. It’s said that a group of dwarves feared the destruction of such a miraculous work of stonecraft and stole the throne right out from under the elves’ slender noses. Where the dwarves hid it for so long, who knows? But should you find it in Undermountain, it would please the elves of the North to know it survives. Payment: (Blank)
She glances to Rurik. "I am guessing those are very much like what your group was hired to do, so we are pretty much your compitition..."
“While those do sound familiar, I can’t say I remember off the top of my head. I do see how competition could be an ‘issue’ as ya say....but I see a stronger team as a lucrative opportunity for all. But that’s just me, of course I’m sure my group and yours may disagree,” Rurik responds.
"You do know that they are only paying one of us, not both, for completion of these items, right?" leann asks with a raised eyebrow. "Sure the priestess seems to have an open offer to purchase magic items and spellbooks, but the rest are do this thing and get paid for it. We can't both do them, and we can't both get paid for doing them together." She gives a shrug. "For myself the money isn't the real focus, but I have to keep my own franchise's best interests in mind as well."
"Working together is not in the best interest of our franchise." Morgan speaks up in his deep voice. He holds up a coin in his hand. "I will place my vote to continue on on our own, and I know both Nolla and Lia would vote with me on this one..." He glances to the others.
"I vote with Morgan on this one." The soft voice of Rubin comes from the darkness beyond the torch light.
"Then I guess that is that." Leann says with a shrug. "It was nice to meet another warrior of Torm." Leann tells Rurik, giving him another warrior's grip. She then steps back, glancing to her companions. "On to this goblin market then?" Those with her agree, and the group moves on towards the goblin market.
You are again alone, with the goblin Glom in your possession.
"Glom no know." Glom shrugs and starts to head off to the East, away from the market. "Glom show way now?" They asks, glancing back over their shoulder.
(If you are low on rations, then you can have purchased some while at the market earlier.)
Maximus will start to show Glom the maps he has made and see if Glom has any further knowledge on the directions we have not gone and then to see if Glom knows any information on the routes we have not traveled yet. Also if he knows of any directions "rats" might be living in.
"Rats way..." He says pointing to the northern tunnel you have not explored yet. "Stairs too..." he says, continuing to point at the same location. "No go..." He says, poingig to the area with the chute. "No good... Bad place..."
You travel East then turn back up the tunnel to the North. Traveling some distance back North you reach the intersection where you found the gate to another level of the dungeon, behind a secret door. There you turn West, down the unexplored hall. A bit down that hall you come across a door in the Northern wall. The goblin would continue past it, but will pause if you wish to explore.
If asked what is behind the door he will shrug and indicate he does not know.
Maximus will update his maps and then ask the group, "We should at least explore the door in case we get into serious trouble ahead of us. We might need a better escape route or at least check to see if we will get cut off on our retreat. Does someone want to help me with checking out the door as I am not an expert at it."
Then without opening the door he will listen to it and check to see if it is possibly trapped.
The imp would have told Stigr about the door prior to you arriving, then move to socut further ahead, not locating anything of too much interest by the time you reach the door with the goblin.
Max looks over the door but finds no sign of any sort of trap.
Glom stands back as you look over the door. he looks to Rurik. “Glom still hungry...”
Stigr turns to the goblin, "My appologies, I got caught up with my familiar scouting ahead, here, please, enjoy." And he'll hand over one of his recently purchased rations along with a dagger, "You may find you need this as well, a sign of my trust that you will behave."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rurik laughs. “I didn’t free ya lil one, best talk to ya savior if ya need more food. But if ya help us longer than this and guide us well, there can be some more in it from me.”
“I will help ya with the door,” Rurik says to Maximus. “Though I don’t know if I’ll be much better.”
Opening the door you find a hall that runs straight ahead (North,) with a single double-door on the Eastern side wall of it.
The walls of this passage are painted with images of wizards succumbing to madness and being transformed into nothics. One particularly vivid image shows shafts of eerie green light exploding out of a spellbook and changing a wizard into a gibbering mouther.

"So, it seems we're either heading down some stairs or down a chute. What shall it be?" Trin ponders aloud.
Stigr looks to their new goblin, "I think our new guide can take us to the stairs."
Well then let’s move out.
"Food for Glom?" The goblin asks with a look up at you all. "Glom need eat..."
Rurik tosses him some rations.
”Should we pick up some more food stuffs here before we delve deeper? Glom is food down deeper?”

“Looks safe to me.”
Chucking softly, "Seems safe to me as well." And then Maximus will gently and as quietly as he can open the door just a tad and peek inside.
Opening the door you find a hall that runs straight ahead (North,) with a single double-door on the Eastern side wall of it.
