The orc scowls at you menacingly, but the derro jumps and and holds out his hand. Buppido's the name. Seems you lot are in the same deal we're in. Us prisoner's gotta stick together, especially if we're wantin' to make it outta here alive. The other dwarf seems like she was about to say something, but sits back and frowns when the derro jumps up and starts speaking.

Gadvelt checked out the area to the north when guarding the rear. After crossing into the tower, thinking quick, he looks in the supply are to see if there is any rope - perception 22

After grabbing his gear he takes the time to light a torch, but doesn't have armor to don. He keeps his chains draped around his neck for now, thinking about the lecture on ooze-ology and having a disposable weapon. After lighting a torch tie off rope (found, his own, &/or others') and get ready to lower himself down This, oddly, is lucky. Let's drop on the far side from the battle, north of the tower. Melee fighters first, archers and casters cover us?

There are 2 coils of spider-silk rope, 50 ft each. (And no, there's has apparently been taken somewhere else. They're able to outfit themselves with hand crossbows and shortswords, however.)

(Yeah, for simplicity's sake, the npc's you guys control get their equipment as well. If you need a stat block, let me know)

(OOC: guess I stand corrected...'shrug'.  I have the same question as asked above though, would the NPCs have standard equipment here as well?  Makes it easier to run them if we can just use their standard actions and stats...)

finding silk rope, Gad saves that and uses his own hemp rope and asks for another - Don, you have some line, sailor? Let's see how close two bent together gets to the floor. How 'bout you me and Manju form a beachhead

If agreed, Gadvelt wants to tie at least two ropes together and lower towards the floor with some others. Gad has a torch, maybe see if we can burn a hole in the webs and make a safe-ish passage down

Manju - Lifting his arms so they can tie the rope "Let's do this, nobody got famous by playing things safe."

"I can use fire bolts to burn a hole if you want to go that route."  Tempest informs them through their mental communication as they prepare.

Egret will use the rope on his pack to tie on his mail and shield before shouldering it, put his emblem of Gond on around his neck, grab his mace, and gather as many short swords as possible into his noose and bring those as well, “Waste not, want not. Never know when an extra blade may be useful.”

While the fools mess with the rope, Ront puts on his hides and straps on his weapons. He tucks the pipe into his belt and snatches a shortsword before godboy grabs them all. He checks the guard table to see if they left any food behind. Then he's impatient for his turn to go down.

Responding to Tempest Good idea, and also for blasting any spiders who come near. And your magic stuff is ok? Thank fortune!

And Manju wants to go first, that is fine. We'll stop you part-way down while you can still talk by thought - keep telling us what's ahead

Don hands 50 feet of hempen rope to Gad. "Hopefully this gets us all the way down! I'm ready when you are."

Tempest has 50 feet of rope as well, to add to things if needed.

While you're tying up, one of the drow glances over and shouts. Hey! They're escaping! He and the drow next to him stop taking pot shots at the demons, and start heading your way. One of them shoots at Zhor:

Attack: 23 Damage: 8

And the other at Tempest:

Attack: 14 Damage: 4

Tempest casts shield

The bolt bounces off the shield and skitters over the side. However, the other bolt hits Zhor right in the chest, and he roars in rage. He charges the drow, who have now drawn swords, and tackles one right over the ledge, screams and snarls growing fainter. The other drow stops, shocked, then turns back to the party. He raises his crossbow, and a Chasme demon slams into him, hurtling out of nowhere, both of them going over the side as well. The Chasme raises back up, no worse for wear, but the drow is nowhere to be seen.

"Let's get a move on..."  Tempest calls to the others mentally.

Don peers over the ledge where Zhor jumped, trying to see what might have happened to the impulsive bugbear. Perception, 5. "I'm with Tempest, lets get the hells out of here. Do we really have time to lower everyone down a rope? Those webs might slow us enough to not kill ourselves on the way down. That's what the drow said to do, anyway."

Don, it looks like they missed the web, and disappeared into the darkness. The webs are only twenty feet down, however, and does looks like you can jump down without hurting yourself. (Unless you miss)

Egret will peer over, "Well, one way to find out. See you at the bottom." And he'll carefully jump into the webs.

Egret lands on the webs. They bounce a little, but hold firm.
