Sarith broadcasts to the group: Keep this in mind...when the demons are dealt with, and Ilvara discovers our escape, she will chase us down relentlessly. She does not like being made a fool of.
(Underdark travel is similar to surface travel, just slower. Most of the tunnels are going to be dark, with some areas dimly lit by luminescent fungi. You will need to keep in mind your drow pursuers as well. If you travel at a fast pace, you cover more ground and can probably put some distance between you and your pursuers. However, you can't forage for food, and you take a -5 penalty to your passive perception. Traveling at a normal pace gives no bonuses or disadvantages. Traveling at a slow pace gives you advantage on foraging for food, and lets you move stealthily if you wish. However, the slow pace might give your pursuers time to catch up to you.)

"I have rations for just five days. I did am thankful for even that. I had not packed for an extended journey." Don says with a half-hearted smile. "Does anyone else have food? I would prefer to travel quickly, but we will need to eat or the drow will find us exhausted on the floor before long."
"I have some food as well, but not going to last us very long I am afraid..." Tempest says, looking in her pack to see what of her rations were still there.
"Best move quick." Buppito informs the group. "We don't want em dark elfs to be catchin up." He glances to the one with them and gives a bow of oppology. "No offense..." He tells the drow. "I can lead us right to Darklake, then we can head to the fungus's home if that is where you want to go."
Fast is best Ront says in common as he snatches Gadvelt's shield and carries his javelin (AC15 now). Counting on fingers and tusks, and remembering he can think it More than two days of food, you rich ones bring. We bugger off quick, like elfyboots say

With everyone in agreement, you take off, moving quickly through the dark. The light from Egret's light provides illumination for everyone, but also casts long shadows, which seem to twist and turn around as the bag swings around. Beyond the light, the darkness is absolute.
You're moving so quickly that you don't notice the sinkhole until your foot goes through it, collapsing it. You try to dive for the edge, but your fingers miss and you go tumbling into the dark. You fall about 20 feet or so, and hit the ground hard, taking 9 bludgeoning damage.

"Come on, we don't have time to be lazing about..." Buppito calls down into the hole. He tosses a rope down to help climb out. "Best keep an eye out for those drops..." he says as he helps the others get him out of the hole.

"Owww" Don gathers himself and looks around the sinkhole for anything interesting. If he finds nothing he takes the end of the rope and climbs out of the hole.
You continue moving, still traveling fast. It's hard to differentiate between "night" and "day" in the underdark, but after many hours of traveling all of you are getting exhausted. You come into a large, open cavern that has some dim light from the fungi on the walls. Sarith hits his knees. We've got to stop...Ilvara isn't the only danger down here. If we're too exhausted from running anything we run into could kill us.

"Someone find us a defensible position then." Tempest says through gasps to catch her breath. "We need to have a bit of a rest before we go any further, or we'll all fall down some hole we cannot climb back out of."
Don goes back a few steps into the passageway they just came out of, looking for a narrow (hopefully 10ft wide or less) portion of the passage near the entrance to the cavern. If a there is a suitable place, Don hammers two pitons into the floor of the passage and obscures them with fallen rocks. Then he threads some string into a small bell from his pack and loosely ties each end of the string to separate pitons. Once done, there is a low trip-wire with a bell attached to alert them to anyone trying to sneak up from behind.
"This won't help us with danger coming from ahead, but someone coming from behind might get our attention before springing on us. Whoever is on watch should keep their ears open for a tinkling bell."
With that, Don slumps to the floor, using his pack as a back rest. "I'm not cut out for all this running around in the dark."

Perception. 5
You don't see anything except for dirt and rock. You're able to climb out pretty easily with the rope.
