The head of the beast is quite large (It swallowed one of your number whole), and won't fit in anything you have (although you could send the guards to recover the body if you really want it.)
(Also, I don't think anyone asked for it's head?)
After a few minutes of navigating the caves, you eventually come back to the surface. (LEVEL UP!)
When you reach the surface, you find yourself surrounded by lizard bodies. About 20 of them have been slain by the entrace to the cave, along with 2 members of one of the other teams. Standing though, is the Halfling from that same team, bloodied and battered, he turns to you as you exit the cave; "Is it done? Did we get it?"
"The group that brings me the creature's head will earn their seats on the caravan"

(Crown Paladin time! Here we go!)
"It is. The beast is gone." Thasla replies. She gazes toward the halfling's fallen party members. "We'll help bring your friends back to the camp, so that they may be buried properly."
Wow. Quite the fight you guys had out here, too. Hi, I'm Tamoda. Yes, we will help you with your fallen comrades. We have to burn these lizards first, to make sure they're dead. We have Big Momma's head.
<ooc: we will need a list of the fallen, and their armour, to allocate the loads properly.>
"No helping them I'm afraid." He looks out over the field of bodies. "We were tracking the lizards to find a nest, when they all started freaking out, and came running here. We figured the big one was in trouble, so the less lizards that got in, the better."
He looks over to the head you're carrying. "Hope it hurt."
“Indeed, it did hurt. And we must thank you and your comrades for your assistance in holding them off.” Thasla replies. “Let’s get back to camp where it’s safe to rest.”
After an hour or so of taking care of the bodies, you are able to find a trail that leads back to the farmsteads. As you exit the dense brush and into the open pastures and farmland, you see the sun setting, and the moon above begins it's divergence cycle, two balls of light hanging silently in the air above the barns and homesteads you slept in the night prior.
Camping out among the fields of wheat and cabbages, among the stars and diverging moon, your initial unease is soothed by the sounds of crickets and the light of fireflies.
All is quiet; no screams, no hissing, no conflict. Just peace and the open pasture.
After some time the sun begins to rise yet again, and a full, bright light returns to your little world. (Long Rest)
Grim awakens early to polish up his equipment, snip loose threads from the stitching in his armor, sharpen his sword, and to go through his routine of martial forms. As soon as the others start moving around, he’ll stop and pack up his things, ready to get moving.
Once she sees the group awaken, Thasla finds a quiet space to clean her gear, pray and meditate. Before leaving, she kneels facing the sun and takes an oath, vowing to protect the citizens of the kingdom and asking for guidance from Lathander and Xerona so that her actions may let the realm prosper.
Tamoda also wakes up early to do his morning stretchies, too, with his quarterstaff...and ponders
no clerics, yet 3 of us can heal others...
no spell slingers, yet between us we can cast some of the most dangerous spells known
3 of us are melee types, yet our ranged specialist can out damage us all in close quarters...and I know we will shoot our way out of danger when it proves necessary to do so
no rogues, yet I think we'll be able to open anything we set our minds to getting open

“I jest; I am no master leatherworker. Let us burn the remains and be gone from this fetid place.”
Ho ho ho! That was a knee slapper, Sir! Come, let us swim back to where we were before...

With that Tamoda holds his arms and heals his injuries -> Cure Wounds 7

"We should set watch. No guarantee that we've removed all the threats in the area", advocates Sihnion.
Agreed. A watch is an excellent idea, and good practice for when we leave the valley. I'll take 3rd watch.
Grim speaks up “I’ll take 1st watch.”

"Sounds like I get the middle watch", sighs Sihnion, beginning to wish he hadn't suggested it.
“I will take the final watch, then.” says Thasla.
