Cas, having now reloaded his Crossbow, shoots the crayfish again, this time using his sharpshooter feat to get -5 to attack, but +10 to damage if it hits, as well as gaining a sneak attack bonus
Attack: 9
Damage (if it hits): 20 + 12
big oof
The crayfish is already down. If you had a score of better than 15 on your nature check, then you would know that the boulder is a creature too, otherwise you might not have anything you need to do this round. Let me know.
(oh, sorry thought it was still up, I know the rock is a crab)
Cas, upon noticing that the crayfish is down, returns the crossbow into his cloak, before approaching the crab. Once he is close, he pulls out a flask of oil from his cloak and tosses the liquid onto the crab, before lighting it on fire
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
So far this session I have hit my teammates twice, flat-out missed 3 times, and only hit the enemy twice. Trust me, you don't want to borrow my dice.

The fire flares up on the crab's shell briefly, but otherwise does no harm. As it burns you notice it does not burn very brightly, the amber haze seems to make it less intense.
Sinsil will move to b43 and with her bonus action use Extract Name on the crab. It needs to make a DC 15 wisdom save or Sinsil learns its name or if it doesn't have a name and the crab is charmed until the end of Sinsil's next turn.
She will then hold her action to cast another mind sliver
Ethan steps back, watching the crab, but doing nothing as it stays un-moving.
It is opal's turn... Not updating map yet, so let me know what you do. If your nature check was above 15 you know the boulder is a crab, if not, then you are yet unaware, since no one has said anything yet.
Opal watches with confusion as Cas lights the rock on fire and then looks even more confused when Larry mentions waking a crab. The tabaxi looks around, but doesn't see anything new. But he stands ready to defend himself against anything hostile that comes within melee range.
Action: Hold action attack with shortsword vs. anything hostile that comes within melee range
"What goes on here..." From the crab. "Why are you waking me up.."
Everyone sees legs slip out from inside the boulder, letting everyone know the boulder is indeed a giant hermit crab. the crab speaks the above, but in a language no one but Sinsil can understand.
Sinsil will go through each language she knows, repeating: "Do you understand me creature? We wish to explore this temple and take what we desire from it, if you resist you will be slain" she will say it in common last.

The creature appears to understand no language Sinsil speaks.
Shieldbiter steps to the side, putting himself between the stairs and the crab.
"I can't believe we didn't see that to begin with," Shieldbiter states as he draws his sword and shield. "Do you have control over it? Are we able to move on without an issue or shall we just have some fun sharpening our blades on this whet stone?"
He grins and then sneers at the crab prepared for what will happen next. In Draconic, he says, "Stay where you are friend, before you do something you will regret."
The crab's head comes out of its shell and it looks around at the group.
Sinsil will hear...
"I can not understand you... Do you speak Olman? Can you understand me?"
(Assuming Sinsil would respond with nods or some other nonverbal answers to the above...)
"I have no desire to fight you, unless you give me no choice in the matter." The crab says when it is clear that Sinsil understands it. "It pains me you killed my only companion, but I do not wish to join him. Leave me in peace and I will let you go on with the same."
"You have to be kidding me..." Ethan says, glancing at the Tressym that now settles onto his shoulder. His face goes a bit white and you see him look around, as if very uneasy. "My familiar says that the amber stuff in the air is actually poison." He informs the others.

Larry's turn now...
"errr, maybe we shouldn't wake this crab up? I thinks it's sleeping"
Larry enters the room and will walk to D50. He will hold his attack, only attacking if the crab beast should move or appear hostile for any reason.
If it does...he will go with the following attack
toll the dead dc14 wisdom save or
damage if no damage taken 3
damage if damage taken. 9
Sinsil will move to b43 and with her bonus action use Extract Name on the crab. It needs to make a DC 15 wisdom save or Sinsil learns its name or if it doesn't have a name and the crab is charmed until the end of Sinsil's next turn.

Crab's save: 14
Sinsil learns the crab's true name and it is charmed for her.

"Can't understand us. If it attacks... kill it." She'll start moving slowly into the room.

"Hey Crabby! My name is Larry. I serve the Darkone. What are you doing here?"

"Can your familiar tell if it's coming from the stairs or the door or is it just in this room alone? That may determine where we want to head next."
Shieldbiter looks around the room to see if he can notice himself.
