"Fff...There goes the element of surprise." Frederick grumbles to himself as he catches up with the others, ruing his missed shot at the serious Goblin. He takes a moment to hurriedly look over the body of the lazier Goblin. Even as he looks for anything that might be worthwhile on the body however, he says, "We need to hurry. If they know that we're coming, we can't take any chances with regards to the girl." A serious, teeth-baring Frederick rises back up to his feet, ready to pursue the serious Goblin through the half opened door.
"Good thinking; we can't let 'em prepare for our attack, so let's press this advantage while we still can!" Walton dictated, moving over to the door and shoving it open with all his might. He was here to pulverize goblins, save children, and chew straw, and by god he was all out of straw.
(Fredrick looks over the body as he talks, finding the Dirty Magazine, a couple of shiny rocks and what appears to be a Stinkbomb. Walton, meanwhile, heads to the door and throws it open. The group goes to join him by the entrance of the cave, which has a large stone double door with ornate carvings. You all look inside. There are steps going down, then a bend in the stairs where you can no longer see in. Also, it is fairly dark in there, and the passage is fairly narrow, about 4-5 feet wide.)
DMs note: I'm going to need to know what order you all will be marching in. Pick a number from 1-4, first come first serve.
Erhorn walks up to the body of the dead goblin, sighs a little and then looks towards the tomb.
"Well, there goes the neighbourhood," he murmurs. He draws one of his daggers and walks towards the door where the other goblin went. When he gets there, he looks down the stairs and casually picks under one of his fingernails with his bared dagger. "I wonder how hard it is to get blood out of marble?" He looks over at the others. "Anyone know?"
"Couldn't tell you, though blood's pretty hard to get out of wood, though."
Walton blithely replied, following behind Xan. He produces a candle from his pack, lacking a lantern or any other light source, and holds it up high to see.
"Does anybody have something to light this with? I haven't got a lantern, so this is the best I have."
(Walton's torch is lit by Fredrick. You all enter and go down the stairs, having to go pretty much single file due to the narrowness of the corridor. After a few moments you turn, then see a long, dark corridor with a slight light source at the end. Note: The dash lines are your line of sight.)
(Looking far ahead, you all see 3 Goblins scurrying, preparing their weapons. They space out a little and have their Shortbows out and ready, but the fact the corridor is narrow actually helps you all, as they need to be very precise in their shot. If you step out of the corridor, however, you may be sitting ducks. You have just enough room now where you can switch marching order if you need to.)
(I'll take 4 in the marching order, leaving 2 to Walton.)
"Psst, stop here." Frederick tells the group as they reach the narrow corridor. He squints, looking down to the other end, the wider room where Goblin foes await. Frederick sighs, imagining how much easier this all would have been had their ambush on the two outside gone accordingly. Pulling out his bow and an arrow, he pulls back, taking aim at the Goblin in the middle, lining up his shot. He does not fire yet, not intending to be hasty. "How shall we do this, boys?" He asks the group, keeping his target in sight.
"I you take the one in the middle, I can rush and throw a dagger at the one of the left, and Erhorn can do his magic blast at the one on the right. Hopefully we can get them down before they can get us"
Xanlanann pulls put his dagger, holding it at the ready
(I was going to take 2 anyways, though I forgot to post it.)
"I'll take cover behind a corner and cast my sacred fire upon them, since I haven't got a bow. I'll finish off any that try to flee or take cover."
The priest answers, taking up his holy symbol in his candle-holding hand with a somewhat awkward motion. He did not change his order in the line, since he really didn't need to; he's a fairly tough man, so it wouldn't be unwise to hide behind him.
"Do they look flammable to you?" Erhorn asks, squinting against the light from the brazier. "I have a flame version of my," he wiggles his fingers, "magic blast thing. That said, I do think we need to take one alive. We need to know where they're keeping the child and what their time-frame for whatever they're doing is." He looks around at the narrow corridor. "Also, try not to chip the stone or burn any furniture. It'll be very hard to buff out later."
(Two of the Goblins decide to be impatient and try to shoot arrows into the corridor!)
Attack: 16 Damage: 6
Attack: 7 Damage: 7
(One of the Goblins gets lucky and lodges an arrow right in Xanlanann's left thigh! He starts bleeding pretty profusely. The other arrow bounces harmlessly off the wall of the corridor.)
There are two people in between himself and the goblins. Though he's thankful for the extra-meaty shields between himself and goblin arrows, Erhorn isn't sure that he'll actually hit anything if he tries any ranged spells. Instead, he readies his Eldritch blast cantrip ready to fire if any inviting targets move into range while the others are moving.
He also ducks down, giving Frederick one less person in the way should he decide to fire his bow at random things. It's not lost on him that presenting a smaller target should also make him harder to hit if he ends up without any cover at all. He winces at the sound of an arrow hitting flesh.
"That... that sounded like it hurt, maybe? Anyone know how to heal?"
Xanlanann winces as the arrow buries itself.deep in his flesh, but grits his teeth and rushes forward towards the closest goblin. If he can reach a target (within 30 ft, wasn't specified in the prompt), he will swing with rapier and offhand dagger, otherwise throw a dagger
Melee:
Rapier: Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Offhand dagger: Attack: 4 Damage: 6
Thrown dagger:
Attack: 16 Damage: 4
