" Good morning Lia, strange night we had, eh? Today is going to be wonderous. We have a boat lined up for us by Mikhail and we get to go into the tower and browse a library 2nd only to Candlekeep in Arcane subjects. Dont you think the tower looks like a crazy hand from here?"
Bellows takes a few bites of his food and continues. " we also have this key, that some guy named ship wants pretty bad. Sounds like we just need to count warehouses across the bridge to see what it opens...Hey, I wonder what happened to that Paladin guy named Yensen. His boss Torm must have other business for him.
Tez refuses the food after since he dosen't need it for survival, but is willing to try a few bites just to expiriment with flavor, a thing that is foreign to him.
Tez will try to find nearby trees to create a boat out of
"Well I'd say to check out the tower of the arcane brotherhood, then we can check out this warehouse on the way to the boat." Lia says with a smile for the kobold. "We better get going, since I doubt if you want to keep our arcane brotherhood contact waiting..."
The dwarf tromps down the stairs and he settles in to a chair like a stone. He is wearing his scale mail and his shield, completely devoid of any insignia, on his back.
"I will wander the warehouse district for a bit. Just to get the lay of the land. I have no real interest in the arcane whoziwhatsit."
The gnome bustles through the hallway and up the stairs, following his visitors map to the library of the Arcane. Wrenn Doros is a budding inventor that has shown tremendous promise and has won a trip and visitors pass to the Host Tower through a local magical science competition in his home village. The Arcane Brotherhood is always looking for talent and use these competitions to fill membership needs in various disciplines. Wrenn is very excited to be allowed to browse the hundreds of books on magical engineering and gizmos. And the holy grail for inventors, the 3 known books on mechanical alchemy, written by brilliant minds long lost to history, the only thing remains are these three manuscripts. Wrenn has a fresh bottle of ink and some fine paper so he can take copious notes and capture any ideas he has while reading
As you head a few miles southward down the beach, you find more boat fragments and debris. You can tell the storms on this Island must be spectacular and hazardous to ships that pass by. You come to a rise guarded by a spire of carved rock and dirt, crafted by the wind and rains of this remote place. There is a wide pathway leading northwest back up to the plateau where you know there is some jungle and plenty of trees. You can hear the sound of a small waterfall further south. The sun is at its highest point in the sky and you know finding or creating a shelter is very important in case a storm rolls through.
After you eat your breakfast, you set up a time to meet the rest of the party at the bridge over blood Island that connects to the Mirabar district of Luskan. According to your map, it is closest to the inn and the docks. The other bridges are at least an hour walk to the northeast. You head out the door, keeping track of your bearings and an eye out for suspicious people in a city full of suspicious and dark characters.
You get to the bridge head and find that there is a watch post with scruffy looking guards stopping most of the people trying to cross. They seem to be letting people with distinctive tattoos go through unhindered, those without the tattoos are questioned and asked to show something you cant quite see from your position.
You head out of the inn and step into the glorious morning sunlight. The early fog is lifting, prodded along by the gentle ocean breeze. From this distance you catch a glimpse of the host tower, standing on the high point of north Cutlass island. Mostly in silouhette, but the sun glaring brightly off the crystal clear domes topping the the 5 towers, truly creating the mirage of a giant tree. You say goodbye to Mikhail as he heads off to scout the warehouse district for the days later events.
True to his word Lars is waiting for you at the harbor bridge. He has a big smile at seeing Lia in the morning light. He hands all three of you a wooden coin painted white with the image of an eye one both sides. One side the eye is open, the other is shut. He explains it is the permission required to cross the bridges to Cutlass Island. He also hands you each a letter from the Master of the Arcane brotherhood, Archmage Cashaan the Red, welcoming you to the tower and listing the areas you are authorized to venture and view and a temporary 1 hour access to the library for research.
"Mmm..." Lia purrs in delight, taking the letter and coin. "You are definitely getting a nice reward for this..." She says in a sultry voice. "Maybe we'll have to get together later... Can't keep anyone waiting just now you know..." She will head off towards the tower with the others then.
As Lars leads you across the bridge he tells you about the Arcane Brotherhood and how they run the Show and let the 5 Ships think they are in charge, he of course inflates his own importance within the brotherhood. As you stop at the guard post a Mage and three Ship's soldier come to greet you and inspect your coins. The mage touches your coin to an amulet he wears and the open eye closes and that side turns grey. the opposite side of the coin remains white and that eye is now open. The mage explains these are one-time use coins. One side gets you on to Cutlass Island and the other is for getting off, and will likewise turn grey with a closed eye. You will be able to keep the expended coins as a souvenir. As you continue on the walk across the harbor bridge, the mage says, " Don't forget to visit the gift shop on your way out of the Tower, enjoy your visit."
"Where can we find information about this old mage you are looking for?" Lia asks the kobold, hoping he can take the lead in asking questions, since he seems much more better at research than she is.
" we should check the library first so we can find the address of his Luskan home and maybe some indication of other locales he was known to operate out of. He was said to have a fairly large menagerie of creatures he displayed, so he must have had a good sized land holding to keep them on when not on the road. Once we have the records copied, we can see if any staff remember him while we tour the authorized areas.
You are already in the Library of the host Tower (as described in the intro post I did for you) the party is on the way there. You just need to make a post on what you are doing for when the party gets there
Wrenn puts his map away, seeing no need for it while surrounded by all of the gizmos and devices. He takes in each of the sights that managed to make it into this tower. When he arrives at the 3 manuscripts, he draws sketches of their covers (if any), and takes notes on as much as possible before running out of space.

Snus looks around intrigued but not realy interested. He fixes position of his green hat.
