This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When the room is full of bar patrons and diners, Wondolo steps up on stage to set up his drum and his drum case to collect tips. "Showtime!" he says with a flourish and a bow.
Wondolo always starts his performances by playing the drums along with a song of Bardic Inspiration -- to help the patrons in their efforts to charm the ladies (or gentlemen) -- because happier barfolk make for better tippers. Hopefully, it will also help his fellow Soulmonger-ers be more successful in their attempts to gather information on the Soulmonger's location.
Dorno sheepishly enters the loud, crowded tavern and looks quite uncomfortable in such surroundings as their time their continues on. He does intently watch any musical performances, however, which bring out a small smile. He tries to position himself behind the others, in a corner or with his back to a wall whenever possible.
(This is where I wish we were level 2 for RP purposes so he could wildshape into something small and hide in someone's pocket!)
"Is is up to me to find us guides then?" Leann asks as none of the others respond to her statement. "If so I will do so, but you will be stuck with whomever I decide on..." All of this watching performers and looking at each other is more than she can stomach, so she pushes up from the table as she speaks.
(OOC: Leann has determined that she does not know enough and is pushing for a guide, since she doubts if any of the rest of you know enough... She will start to interview guides if no one steps up wanting to do anything about it.)
"Tomorrow? Jeez, really? That's a long time to wait! What am I s'posed to do until then?!" Ivas complains. Fortunately Leann addresses his concern as quickly as he raises it, suggesting that they search around for suitable guides. "That's a good idea, Leann! We'd definitely get lost on our own. I kind of thought Inete would be leading us, though. I mean, she's the one who saw where the bad guys are!"
Having latched on to something productive to do, Ivas will accompany Leann in searching for and speaking to any guides that she identifies, assuming that she doesn't object. While not getting lost is of course important, he also needs to make sure they have a guide who knows where all the best fruits grow out there!
"INete is not leading us, as far as I know." Leann says with a shake of ehr head.
Leann will head out, with whomever in tow who wishes to go with. She will make her rounds, finding anyone who is currently able to guide in the city. she will ask them a series of questions, trying to discover if they are quality guides or not.
(DM, what sort of rolls are you looking for here? Insight checks or what? Leann would be asking questions about the jungle, about their character, and anything else she can think of to help find the best guides...)
Sitting and reuniting the group sees Plaugg get up to perform, his first song coming with mixed opinions. Having been a decent yet not outstanding rendition of a popular folk tune. (to Happy, what do you mean by song of bardic inspiration? unless I'm missing something I thought inspiration was only on one target.)
(On the front of guides the whole point of the mission is that the soul monger is somewhere on Chult, most likely in the jungle - the only other place in Chult being this town, as such some chars here are wanting to obtain a guide to increase the ability to navigate such an environment.)
Almost as quickly as they arrive Ivas and Leann head back out to search for potential guides.
Leann and Ivas
Your first stop brings you only outside the tavern to a previously unnoticed billboard with many different advertisements for different guides.
Leann would suggest talking to each of them, to interview them and see which fits their group best. (We don't have to actually do interviews IC if you don't wish, I think it would probably take a while and whatnot... We could just do insight checks for each, but let me know.)
Ooc got it. Thanks I was reading “a creature within 60 ft” as “any creature”. In that case I’ll direct it at Leann so she gets a boost when researching guides
During his set, Wondolo will dedicate three additional songs of inspiration to aspiring couples in the bar.
(As Leann doesn't know any of these, she would start at the top of the list and work her way down it. Going through it until she finds someone she likes.)
Ivas squints his eyes at the billboard, making out a word here and there, but quickly giving up on the descriptions in favor of simply looking at the pictures. Letters were never really his strong suit, and there hadn't been much time to study them back in the village, either.... luckily, these pictures were super well-drawn!
"Oh man, there's so many! I dunno, they all look good.... wait, are those.... cat-people?!" Ivas exclaims, his eyes widening in apparent wonder that such a thing could exist. "River... Mist, and.... Flask.... of Wine?" he slowly makes out. "Is that how we summon them or something? Pour a flask of wine in the misty river? Well, either way! I vote for those guys! Whadda you think?" he asks Leann.
(Sorry but I feel I already gave the info dump, if you want more you need to be more specific, I'm not going to give you every guide's inner most thoughts from one roll, each one is different and you need to start culling them, because there isn't time to interview them all)
Leann looks over the list and shakes her head at the catfolk. "No, I don't think those two would be good for us." She says. i think we should talk to Azaka Stormfang, Eku, Musharib, and Shago."

Performance 21
Aedan looks somewhat excited by the display, clearly unaccustomed to live performances. He re-visits the now familiar barman and orders an ale.
Roland Drask: Human Rogue - Lost Mine of Phandelver
Nahuatl takes a seat at the group’s table and surveys her fellow patrons. For the time being she is content simply to observe her surroundings.

OOC: maybe I missed it,, but are we assuming we need a guide and will be jumping into the jungle right away? Do we have any clues pushing us that way?

(Before we do that, does Ivas have a particular opinion of the various guides?)
(Sorry, been traveling all day.)

OOC: what about the pair of guides with the triceratops!
(All I have is names, I cannot access the descriptions or images, so all I have to go on is names.)
