You stand in the officers cabins. Perhaps upset about the lack of information provided to you during your investigation, but lucky enough to scrounge up some useful items for yourselves. You still have the blue chest Lespin asked for you to retrieve the items from. Is there anything else you wish to do?
Nope. Missed that lesson, I'm afraid. Whatcha lookin' for?
As the search continues, Lucky looks increasing troubled. Crap. No sign of the manifest. That could be bad news, if our friend has already got their hands on it. Lucky frowns, and looks around. Where else is there in the ship that they haven't searched yet.
"I could manufacture a device that would allow me to detect magic if you would like tonight while everyone takes turn sleeping. " Jax would say looking to his companions. "I would have to disassemble some of my other useful creations however. I was already planning to create a water source and water purifier overnight as well.." The warforged would continue. "I do not require water, but you and the other survivors do. I will do what I can to ensure that each of you survive this desert environment." Jax would then crouch down and pull his rope from inside his leather jacket. After taking a moment to strap the new armblade to his arm so that it can continue to integrate into his body, He would collect the blue chest and tuck it under his arm. "Let us take the supplies we have salvaged and return to the captain. I can then begin work on my creations." The warforged would then trudge through the remains of the airship, his light casting strange shadows through the hallways until he emerges from the wreckage. He would then make his way to the captian and place the chest down at his feet.
"We have recovered your personal artifacts" Jax would say in his plain mechanical voice.
"You do not need to disassemble anything to make a magic detecting item, I will have the necessary power from Ourelonastrix tomorrow," Tara reassures Jax.
"Affirmative" Jax would say looking to Squall. "If we encounter anyone in possession of the cloth, we should detain them at once. A cleaver creature COULD use such cloth to make some fairly effective camouflage. We will need to remain vigilant."
You make your way out of the ship. The sun has lowered as the sands and wind begin to cool. You place the chest at William’s feet. He looks eager “Well what did you find?” He noticed the chest and motions to a crewman. “Go tell Lespin his belongings have been found.”
Not a great deal,Lucky responds to William. A few bits and pieces that will help us survive, I reckon, but nothing to cast light on this whole business.
Lucky fills him in on what they found, and what they failed to find - notably the crew manifest, the journal, or much evidence of anything really. How have things been out here? We saw your fellows inside picking stuff up - did the others manage to return with... he looks sympathetically at the man... the deceased.
William rubs the back of his head. “They’re making arrangements now. “Miss Squall, I’ll leave it to you, would you prefer that she comes with us, or a burial and ceremony here. Perhaps to be retrieved later when more resources are available.” He looks around and sees the situation everyone is in. “I appreciate your efforts.”
It’s at this time the same crewman comes back and reports “Lespin isn’t anywhere to be found, sir.”
William starts in a gruff, “take some men, spread out.... find him and make sure he’s still okay.”
“You should also be aware that some of the shimmer weave cloth you were hauling had been taken. This Shapechanger we are after likely took it. I for one would like to see what is in this chest. I’m starting to question if it was Lespin who made the request to begin with.”
Or,says Lucky, we might keep that little fact to ourselves, and let Tara do her searching tomorrow. He looks around - did anyone overhear Squall talk about the magic cloth? Let's not give the bad guy a heads-up on what we do and do not know. Of course, it's your investigation, Milady Lysander, you can handle it as you wish, he gives Squall an overly-theatrical bow, I am merely making the most humble of suggestions.
Once he had delivered the blue chest, he would let the others do the talking. With the arm blade strapped to his arm and slowly integrating into his body, he would begin making a few modifications to a small strange looking jug that had been dangling inside his jacket. Using his tinkering tools, the artificer would work to etch various runes into the metal bands that run around the jug, as well as creating an advanced cap on the top that seemed to turn like a dial with a number of different runes that could be easily selected.
(OOC: So I am RPing that Jax is crafting his alchemy jug infusion and attaching hisarmblade. These are things he would normally do during a long rest, but I figured I would just slap it in here as him getting started on doing it since Jax hasn't been asked to do anything else quite yet :D)
At first Salqwyn looks embarrassed and flustered as Lucky points out her mistake. His tone taking a more mocking tone her mood shifts so that when he stands from his dramatic bow she slaps him.
Attack: 12 Damage: 2
Stumbling as she completely misses you she catches herself trying to recover she continues "Are you quite done now? Or have you forgotten that someone died? I am happy to admit I am out of my depth here and your suggestion was a good one, but mocking me for a misstep accomplishes nothing." Her voice is steady if cool.
Tara, who has been watching the interaction with widening eyes, clears her throat. Loudly. "I am going to go begin transferring my notes to the spellshard. Then I will burn them. Do not be alarmed if you see smoke coming from my location." She glances at William. "If someone would inform me if Lespin is found, alive or dead, it would be appreciated." Without another word, she turns and begins moving quietly away, towards a relatively empty area.
Lucky takes an involuntary step backwards as Salqwyn takes a swing at him and stumbles. His mouth opens and he seems about to make some loud comment when... he clamps his mouth shut. He stares at her for a moment, and then says: More than one person. And we're gonna find the killer and expose them, don't you worry. I... he looks again like he's about to say more, but instead he closes his mouth, stares at Salqwyn for a second, turns around and stomps off towards where the other passengers are.

Tara shakes her head. "Unfortunately, that power has not been granted to me by Ourelonastrix today."
