"I see I've met a fellow purveyor of taste and culture," Kale says to Lia in common with a slight bow and a grin. "Well, you wear it well, though I think one hardly needs it in this land."
He beckons in an "after-you" manner and continues to pull up the rear - or not, depending on Merric - with his well-lit billy goat. When they arrive at the door, Kale gives a little sigh of disappointment that no life-changing battles occurred on their way back. Still... who knew what lay behind the door?
Confidently, Kale followed after the others as Al-Ashari opened the door.

Still... they were carrying a body, for one, and for two, who knew what lay behind the door?
Confidently, Kale followed after the others as Al-Ashari opened the door.
(What body? We dropped the girl off with her mother didn't we?)
Merric pops into the room beyond the door and gasps at seeing..."Wait! I be knowin' this place. How you be, Cicero? It be yer ol' fren' Merric...a bit changed, I admit, but still the same halfing on the inside!"

"This place does change people." The tavern owner says, not overly concerned with the change to Merric.
Lia moves to the bar and orders an ale. "I need it." She explains as she takes a healthy swig. She then turns to the others. "So, more work on those stairs, a rest here, or something else?" She asks the room-at-large.
Al-Ashari walked straight to the bar. "We deed. Though, feeling a bit lost there. You said you used the stairs before - how did you do it? How did you know where to go, which door to open when you are there?"
"There use to be maps." He replies with a shrug. "Mine was taken by the Duchess's daughter, though I warned her not to try to walk there." He looks thoughtful. "I believe the library might have a map, but the library is nearly as dangerous as the stairs."
"Library..." Al-Ashari nodded to Whitegaze's words. "Well, we can get some lunch and search for the library, of course... Do you know anyone who works in the library, Cicero?"
"By the way, was there any map in "Cecilia's" room in the Dancing Spider? Or was it the one with all connections and our names on it?"
"Well... I still think we should focus our attention on the stairs," Kale says. "If there's something prowling on them, I want to take care of it. They're our ticket to every other destination in this city, and the closest thing we have to an escape plan if things go south. If a map will help us find that beast on the stairs so we could reclaim them for ourselves, then that'd be my first priority." He taps his chin. "I'm not aware of what the dangers are in the library, though I'd like to be. We do know, however, that their books can be quite valuable. That thief boy wouldn't have made off with one if it wasn't, and our missing mage friend seemed to have gained some knowledge by reading it. So there's bound to be more useful things in their collection than just maps."
(There was no map of the stairs anywhere you have been so far.)
"Know someone who works there?" Cicero says with a shake of his head. "You don't 'work' in the library. You only make sure you never go to the library." He glances to the group. "If you are tangling with the stairs I won't tell you not to go to the library, but know it is dangerous, and that I can't tell you anything about what is inside of it, as I steer clear of the place."
"Give me another then..." Lia says, holding up her empty ale mug. "I will need it if we are looking into this library..." Cicero nods and pours her another mug.

Merric turns to Cicero, "Why does the library be so dangerous? What be happenin' there?"

"People go in but rarely come out." Cicero says with a nod to Merric. "I would actually say never come out, but there are rumors of those who have stolen a book from the library and gotten out with it."
Whitegaze chuckles again, "Sounds like everywhere else then. Shall we head out now or wait? What time is it, I can't really tell with this constant rain."
Nothing is different from this door to any of the others. Only the Dancing Spider's door were different so far.
(Wait, what was different about the door to the Dancing Spider from the Stairs side? Can not find it)
Al-Ashari scratched another sign (Tavern) near the door (on it too - just to be sure) and opened it.

(Arg, missed that, editing my post then)

(The dancing spider doors had numbers on them. that was all. Numbers associated with the keys.)
Upon opening the door you all find yourself in the tavern. The tavern owner gives you a nod of greeting.
"See you are trying out the stairs." He states the obvious.
"This place does change people." The tavern owner says, not overly concerned with the change to Merric.

Whitegaze chuckles quietly, "There anything here that isn't dangerous? Not the first time the Library's been mentioned either, worth a look?"
He gives Whitegaze a shrug. "Have you found anything that isn't yet?"
"Library..." Al-Ashari nodded to Whitegaze's words. "Well, we can get some lunch and search for the library, of course... Do you know anyone who works in the library, Cicero?"

Let's say it is noonish.
