Gerrard opens the other forward door. A crude metal stove, not lit, leans against the hull. It has an adjustable metal chimney that can be placed through a vent hole when it is opened. Next to the stove is an open metal bin containing sticks of wood kindling, and beside this is a large wood table, bolted firmly to the deck, with a thick top crisscrossed with score marks. The table has a large drawer. Hanging from hooks set into the hull above the table are two iron frying pans, two saucepans, and a skillet. Set against the bulkhead opposite is a large cask filled with clear liquid. Beside this stands a wooden cupboard. Against the bulkhead beside the forward door is a wooden upright chair, and hanging from the center of the deck above is an unlit, hooded lantern.
”I found the kitchen, Brother Fiercehammer”, Gerrard calls out to Dwal over his shoulder, then moves into the room and opens the forward door to see what is in the bow.

((Peri would have given the papers a once-over looking for anything describing their arrangement with the lizardfolk. Anything else could wait, but if there was anything about this deal he would have read it and brought it out too.))
Peri shuffles through the papers he found in the captain's desk.
Several are letters of a personal and intimate nature from three different women in three different ports (each of whom is under the misapprehension that she is Mrs. Sigurd “Snake Eyes“ - evidently the captain's name.) There's also a curious, semiliterate document requesting a further supply of ironware “as per previous consignments and at the agreed terms.” The signature here is in the form of a pictograph and shows a lizard with forked tongue extended. It's quite vague as to specifics.
He replies to Dwal's question, "No log that I've seen. There's just this letter about 'ironware' being shipped at the 'previous terms.' It's possible that those ingots in the strongbox were payment from those lizardfolk. They seem the sort to use ingots rather than coins." He shrugs. "Assumin' the map shows where we're supposed to drop the scaly buggers off, and if we can rig up some sail, we just need t' find the 'ironware.' If I was cargomaster, knowin' we were t' rendezvous with Sanbalet's lot first, I'd'a loaded the 'ironware' first, then put the kegs and whatnot for the smugglers atop it. We might have t' shift some kegs t' see what's b'neath. If we do find a fat lot o' weapons, what do we do then? What're the scalies doin' with an arsenal a few miles outta town?"
He heaves a big, heavy sigh. "There's much t'be sorted, and I for one am runnin' on dregs. The anchor's set and looks t'be holdin', so I think we ought'a grab some rack time. If we split into two watches, that'll leave one of us on deck t' keep watch, and one of us plus one of our 'new crewmen' t' search the holds for ironwares, sails, or anythin' else useful."

Dwal
"Where is the paperwork?" Dwal asks.
Once he finds out Dwal will spend time looking over the paperwork. "Rest if ye must. This these need gone over to understand what we face. It won't go away with sleep." he says.
Dwal breaks out his special glasses, reading over the documents with and without the glasses.
The "Captains" plan seemed as good as any. The ship was locked down tight. The only variable was the reptilians and they appeared to be under control for the time being. "Cap'n if ye don't mind then, I'd be up for second watch. That hook took more outta me than I thought. Permission to hit the bunks. Sir!"Grinning as he mock salutes the young halfling. "I think the two cabins up here on the main deck might give the best chance of reaction should something come up during the watch. What ya reckon?"
Even though he loved ribbing the halfling about being the Captain, Peri did seem to know his way around the ship. He waits for approval from his friend.
Gerrard continues toward the bow. Opening the door, he finds a small storage cabin. From iron hooks set into the ceiling hang three long strings of sausages, a large ham, and a hunk of meat. Against the hull are three sacks. Set against the bulkhead beside the door are a cask and a ceramic jar. Against the other bulkhead are set a large and a small cask and another ceramic jar.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Meanwhile, Dwal breaks out his glasses and pores over the documents. (The dice roll doesn't appear visible. Here's another, with advantage from the glasses: Investigation: 23 )
There's not much more to put together. It appears the one document is very likely the agreement with the lizardfolk, although there are neither specifics about the cargo nor terms laid out. “Snake Eyes” Sigurd was indeed the captain's name. He seemed to be a well-seasoned swindler and conman.
Peri and Qivys seem to be on the edge of exhaustion, and Peri's leg is still bleeding. They'll take Punketah's and the captain's bunks, unless you specify otherwise.
That leaves Dwal, Gerrard, Mortly, and Elbin to maintain watch and continue to search the ship. Mortly sings to himself quietly and superficially scans the ocean, while nervously keeping an eye on the party. Elbin follows Peri around at a respectful distance, slack-jawed. The parrot goes back to sleep.
OOC: Still waiting for the results of Gerrard's door opening before he rejoins the conversation...
(Sorry about the delay! I missed it for a bit, but I think I finally did resolve it in post #1711?)
OOC: My fault. I missed that post somehow.
Gerrard:
"And now the larder," he thinks to himself, checking out the starboard door next.
When he has finished checking the rooms at the front of the ship, Gerrard goes below and starts looking for that crate to see what kind of weapons the Lizard folk are procuring.

Gerrard continues his exploration of the bow. Opening the next door, he finds another storage cabin. Two coiled lengths of rope and three rolls of sailcloth lie on the deck alongside a large metal box and a small wooden one. A large cask stands next to six lengths of wood planking. Set into a wooden rack, fastened to the bulkhead by the door, are two metal-headed hammers, two wooden mallets, two saws, and an adze.
Very happy to have found the spare sails, Gerrard first checks the two boxes (large metal and small wooden), then starts bringing the sails and rope out to the main deck so the sailors "Master Fiercehammer, can you supervise our two sailors in getting this sail rigged?" he asks as he brings out the first bundle. Once that is done, he will head down to the hold and look for the crate.

(Alas, the sailcloth are not sails. But with the right tools and expertise, and a fair amount of time, they could be made into functional sails. Especially if you salvage the bits left from the old fire. But this will take some time.)
Well, they looked like sails to him—he doesn’t know any better. Disappointed that the sailcloth isn’t premade into sails, Gerrard says, “Maybe we figure this out in the morning. Let me check for the crate now,” and heads belowdecks.

"Kill 'em all!" shrieks the parrot.

Here's the lower deck, too, for reference:

You recall at least one crate in the hold, in addition to the kegs and silk bolts.
Peri found a lot of papers and letters that have not yet been examined, but no obvious log.
