Peri:
Peri hears Dwal's orders as he is nearing the northeast corner. Makes sense if it's just swords and axes we're facin', but if they've a wizard with 'em we'd be fish in a barrel. He continues creeping along the wall, scanning the room, until he reaches the edge of the dais. Then two strange, ugly dwarves pop into existence, aiming javelins at his friends. He sees Gerrard leap forward to engage one and instinctively rushes to engage the other. He thrusts his spear toward the gray dwarf's face. 16 + 3 (bless) for 6 damage. He follows with a kick to the dwarf's throwing arm, hoping to break it before it can get its javelin off. 7 + 2 for 4 damage.

Peri sprints across the edge of the dias, skirting the campfire, and jams his spear through the armor of the other grey dwarf, significantly injuring his shoulder and neck. He howls in anger, brushing Peri's kick away with the edge of his thick shield.
Oceanus fires a bolt at the same duergar. Attack: 6. Piercing damage: 3
The bolt crack against the far wall, narrowly missing the pale dwarf.
Undeterred by their melee attackers, both duergar launch their javelins at Dwal: Javelin attack #1: 9 - 1(bane). Damage: 6 Javelin attack #2: 19. Damage: 6
One javelin strikes Dwal's leg in a painful blow.
Bjorn swoops in and attempts to sting the duergar next to Peri with his barbed tail. Sting attack: 2. Piercing damage: 3
The duergar easily sidesteps the little dragonoid.
Everyone may act.
(Apologies for the manipulated roll banner; I forgot a bracket, and now it keeps rerolling. The only hit was on Dwal for 6 damage. I just hard-edited that roll to reflect it.)
Feeling the divine power building in him, Gerrard quips, “You really should have just talked with us...” as he flows into form two, a flourishing sweep with the Glowing Rapier as a distraction then a swift double thrust with both weapons.

Annoyed that the duergar managed to get his javelin off, Peri rams the spear straight into its chest armor. 13 + 1 for 5 damage. He uses the distraction to attempt a flying punch to the duergar's throat. 16 + 2 for 4 damage.
((That was a lot of dice rolls to have them all go so badly!))
Dwal strides forward and crushes the remaining Duergar with a single mighty blow. Combat is over.
You hear a voice from the dias - the same voice who had spoken to you earlier. "That was a grave mistake." The door on the eastern end of the chamber, behind the throne, immediately opens and quickly slams shut before you have a chance to react.
"Cacaw!" With his best bird imitation, Kei recalls Trill to his arm. The bird willingly obeys and hovers for a moment before landing silently on his shoulder.
The two walk over from behind the pillar. "Well, that was a bit spooky" he says referencing the final words of their unseen enemy. He begins searching the duergar for anything of value just as Gerrard heads towards the door. "Hang on, nearly done here."He hastily finishes his search of the bodies.
Kei finds that the duergar wear drab, well-worn scale mail and carry a war pick, but have no other possessions of any apparent use or value.
(Recap of room description:) This enormous hall is lined with ten great pillars, carved into the forms of giants and dragons, that support the vaulted ceiling high above. A mighty throne sits on a dais at the opposite end. The walls were once covered with tile mosaics, but they have been smashed and defiled by graffiti. Tiny fragments of tile litter the floor. You can see five other exits. A small fire smolders on the floor before the dais, where six sleeping pallets lie empty, surrounded by packs and supplies. The sound of hammers ringing on iron comes from beyond the doors to the south.
He looks over the dead duergar, noting their differences from the dwarves he's familiar with. "So, you don't get along with this branch of the family tree, eh?" he asks Dwal. "Never seen dwarves like these before. Would they defile a temple to your Top God, or do you think someone else did all this before they got here?" He looks over the pallets. "Six pallets, minus the two dead guards, and one that ran off behind the throne. That should leave three more making all that clanging. If we rush 'em before their friend raises the alarm, we might could catch 'em unawares and unarmed." He shrugs. "It's up to you, Captain," he says to Dwal, enjoying this turning of the tables. "Chase the one to the east, or try to surprise the three to the south?"
"The story goes, when Moradin gathered the dwarves together, the Grey Dwarves rebelled against him and his plan and were cast out. Then they tried to get things, like Mind Flayers, on their side to conquer the other dwarves but got themselves enslaved instead." Dwal tells Peri. "They eventually got themselves out under the thumb of them squid faces but blamed Moradin even more but were too weak to do anything. So they hide and show up ever once in a while." Dwal states.
Dwal strokes his beard then says: "They ain't showed us their full power and all their tricks just yet and they so still have a habit of enslaving things to help them so we best be on our guard." Dwal stops and ponders for a moment. "If the Wight is any indication we'll see more undead and a few other things as we go so I recommend alot of caution and moving more as a unit rather than willy nilly."
"An I'd watch lottin' bodies like a mad man too cause they see that and if we get captured yer gonna be high on their list fer being a slave or worse." he says as his glances at the newcomer.
Smiling at Dwal’s comment, Gerrard considers ‘willy nilly” an apt description of their combat tactics so far. Stopping before he gets to the door behind the throne, Gerrard states, “Yes, let us move together, Brother Fiercehammer. Lead on!”
Remembering a bit of tactics himself, Gerrard pulls a bag of fine drying powder out of his calligrapher’s kit in case the invisible creature makes another appearance, stowing it in his vest for easy access.

Dwal
Dwal will use a reaction, raising his hand up, palm facing the incoming javelin and cast Shield
(OCC: I think the +5 to AC will negate the javelin hitting Dwal-if I am using the spell correctly)
(OCC: Sorry-forgot it was the same round)
(Yup - sorry I missed that. Peri misses his arm but scores a lucky hit square in the ribs. He's not in great shape.)

His focus squarely on the dwarf that Peri is engaged with, he lifts his arm and points "The Bell tolls for you friend".

Meanwhile, Trill sees Gerrard the other and swoops down to aid the Would-be Duke.
Yup - You can't cast two spells the same turn, unless one is a cantrip.
Kei conjures the sound of an eerie, sorrowful bell near Peri's foe. The sour dwarf scowls - Wisdom saving throw: 17
The dwarf chuckles, humorlessly, as he brushes off Kei's magic.
Meanwhile, Trill begins to harass and distract Gerrard's opponent.
Peri's spear strikes only shield, but his punch strikes the grey dwarf square in the throat. He's wobbling on his feet.
Gerrard pierces clean through his opponent's heart; he crumples instantly. One down.
Dwal may act, then Oceanus. Only one duergar remains standing (barely.)
Dwal
Dwal will strike at the remaining dwarf.
