Peri wanders over behind Gerrard. "You all right? What's all the moanin' about?" He also peers around Gerrard into the room beyond, using his Eldritch Sight to look for the source of the sound.
Putting his hand over his stomach self-consciously, Gerrard says, “It’s not me. I heard it when I opened the door, but I can’t see where it comes from.”

Kei
"Seems they don't want to talk Dwal." Kei states the obvious as Peri and Gerrard wander off. Knowing that thee are multiple duergar on the other side of the door, he stays with Dwal. He takes time to search the chamber for anything of interest.

Dwal and Kei remain in the old council chamber. Nobody answers Dwal's banging on the door to the east. The walls are ornately carved here, and the remains of nearly-disintegrated painted tapestries still hang from a couple of walls. Kei finds a bit of decorative writing on one, which Dwal is able to translate. Although there's little information to be gleaned, it's clear that the name of the once-leader of these dwarven halls was "Durgeddin".
Peri, Gerrard, and Oceanus peek into the new, dark room to the north. Peri sees nothing magical with his Eldritch Sight. Nevertheless there is something here - a presence, and an unsettling one at that.
The moaning and babbling increase suddenly in volume as a translucent form of an armored dwarf bursts through a wall. It shrieks words you don't understand. It's terrifying to look at and deeply unnerving: Peri Wisdom Saving Throw: 12 Gerrard Wisdom Saving Throw: 9 Oceanus Wisdom Saving Throw: 16 Trill Wisdom Saving Throw: 10
Gerrard is deeply affected by this chilling sight. The 24-year-old noble ages in front of your eyes - some 4 x 10 years. He is now a 54-year old man, with streaks of gray in his hair, and deep creases upon his face.
The unearthly, translucent dwarf is clearly aggressively attacking, even as it shrieks words (Dwarven?) at you. Initiative: Peri: 19 Gerrard: 17 Oceanus: 16 Trill: 13 Ghostly Dwarf: 11 In the other room, some 100 feet away by the eastern door of the council chamber, Kei and Dwal hear Gerrard shrieking: Kei: 6 Dwal: 20 Bjorn: 9
(Sorry - Trill is with Kei.) (Gerrard is frightened for no more than a minute. He may not move any closer to the ghost, and attacks at disadvantage. He may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the frightened condition on itself on a success.)

Gerrard:
With trembling hands, Gerrard holds his weapons in front of himself and backs slowly away from the apparition, unsure of exactly what is happening, only knowing that this phantom is somehow draining the life from him!
OOC: Crap! Aging 30 years? Esmerelda will have nothing to do with him if he stays this old!!!
As Gerrard shrinks from the horrifying ghost, Peri steps in front of him, spear leveled at it. "You've had your chance at life, shade. Our years are our own to fritter as we see fit." He stabs its pale form 16 for 9 damage. Then he channels his Ki to focus his mind on its Patient Defense.
OOC: Gerrard wasn’t planning to split the party—he thought everyone was ready to start exploring and went up to the next available door. Not being particularly wise, he apparently didn’t check to make sure everyone was with him before he opened it, as it seems Dwal is wanting to get through a different door...

OOC: Gerrard wasn’t planning to split the party—he thought everyone was ready to start exploring and went up to the next available door. ..that is just Dwal grumbling...nothing more....:D
Both bard and bird bolt towards the others. Kei reaching into his component pouch as he runs. "I think you're right. Perhaps we should stick together down here" he pants.
Oceanus steps forward and plunges his trident into the ghostly form. Attack: 14 but it passes right through the incorporeal figure. The transparent dwarf grins.
Kei sprints across the council room, getting as far as the throne, Trill flying by his side; they're still about 40 feet away. Dwal is about ten feet behind Kei, straining to keep up.
Peri jams his spear into the figure. "Leanaban innearach damnaichte!" shrieks the unearthly being, clearly feeling the effects of Peri's magical weapon. Dwal understands the rather old-fashioned Dwarvish:
(Dwarvish curses)
Bjorn flashes high through both rooms, and ends its turn circling over the fight.
The wide-eyed ghost waves his arms over his head, squacking and babbling, "Barrachd luchd-ionnsaigh! Is e mo choire-sa a tha ann! Glanadh! Glanadh!"
Dwal:
More intruders! It's all my fault! Cleanse! Cleanse!
The ghost stares at Peri for a moment then disappears like a popping bubble.
Peri can feel the foreign soul trying to invade his mind. Charisma Save: 13
Peri manages to expel it, but just barely.
Everyone may act, Dwal last. Kei is still 40 feet away; Dwal 50 feet.
Gerrard lashes out with his glowing rapier, but it misses the translucent dwarf completely. He has better luck with his main-gauche, but the blade has no effect whatsoever on the unworldly entity. Gerrard takes a deep breath, trying to calm and center himself, and nearly succeeds, but the dwarf's unblinking eyes continue to unnerve him. (DC is 13.)
Everyone but Gerrard may act, Dwal last. Kei is still 40 feet away; Dwal 50 feet.
(Kei is just past the throne at this point, just at the cusp of visibility of the fight. He will see the ghost at the beginning of his upcoming turn. )

Peri:
The ghost vanishes and he feels it pushing its way into his mind. "Oh no you don't, ghostie!" he says, forcing the presence back out. "There's barely room for one up there!"
As the ghost reappears he again thrusts his spear into it. (25 for 11 damage)
"Hey There" Dwal calls out in dwarven to the Ghost. "By Moradin, stop this mess. We are explorers, Sons of the Maker, and sent to see what darkness has taken this place. Stop yer doing and tell us yer clan and story and why ye have not returned to the forge."
Continuing to run towards the fray, he stops the moment the battle comes into view. A quick look tells him that there seems to be a ghost fighting his companions. But also, Gerrard's father is here. Quite strange.
He snaps back to the moment and releases an opaque [Tooltip Not Found] directed at the ghost.
Attack 7 Damage 8
After slinging his magics he will continue into the pool room to the full extent of his movement. Avoiding melee range of possible.
(On a hit the ghost must make a strength save or be pushed back 5ft. DC 12.)

As Kei, Dwal, Bjorn, and Trill approach the fight, the unearthly being rematerializes out of Peri. It looks up momentarily to stare at them with an unnatural gaze; ghostly worms begin to dance in the apparition's now-empty sockets.
Kei is stopped in his tracks in the great hall outside the new room to the north. He can't seem to make his feet move any closer to this horrifying sight. He fires off a sloppy [Tooltip Not Found] but the translucent bolt streaks harmlessly into the ceiling. Trill, seemingly unaffected, circles overhead, preparing to defend his master.
Oceanus, realizing his weapons are useless against the being, steps back.
Peri injures the spectral form again with his magic spear, a second serious wound causes the ghost to shed translucent blood. It cries out again in anguished Dwarven obscenities.
The ghost shrieks again in Dwarvish:
Out, out, filthy orcs!
The ghost tries to grab Peri by the throat:
Attack: 21. Necrotic damage: 16
It succeeds, leaving a horrible rotting burn upon Peri's neck, from which Peri felt his life force drained for a moment.
Dwal races past Kei, Bjorn overhead, into the new room, urging the ghost in Dwarvish to reconsider its attack.
The ghost looks at him with a look of anguish and grief.
No! More orcish trickery. Foul invaders must die!
Everyone may act. (Dwal after ghost.) Kei and Gerrard are frightened; they attack at disadvantage and may not approach closer. They can roll another Wisdom saving through at the end of their turns, however.
