Kei approaches the northwest door – a well-used, sturdy, reinforced door covered in a layer of soot and grime. It appears to be locked.
Two of the three workers burst in behind you. Seeing Kei at the door, one hisses, "She went home. I'm serious. What are you doing? We're closed! The lions will be out!" The other glances nervously at a square opening in the ceiling to the east, where a huge winch attaches to the mechanical lift. "You gotta go!"
You're not sure what they're expecting, but they do seem to be anxiously looking back toward the opening to the loft above, appearing genuinely concerned about who or what may be coming out of it at any moment.
As pink-haired Kei, Gerrard, and Boko-Fly pause outside the locked office door inside Mr. Dory's warehouse, you hear scratching and shuffling and the creaking of floorboards as something large stirs above – or maybe two or three somethings. The annoyed exasperation of the three workers turns to nervous action as they quickly double back and exit through the front doors upon hearing the ominous sounds above.
One of the workers pauses just before they shut the double doors again. "You gotta go," they whisper anxiously to you. Then they shut it.
Drawing his blades and willing his dagger into flame, Gerrard says, “Now might be a good time to either get into the office or try and jam whatever mechanism is about to release those lions.”

Boko spots a thin gap under the doorway, although it's a bit of a tight fit, even for a firefly. (Boko: Make a DC10 Acrobatics check to squirm underneath. Assume Swarm of Insects (Wasps) physical ability scores, so +1 on Dex.)

Kei
The workers nervous energy and worried tone gives Kei the feeling that whatever is meant to guard this place was indeed real. He looks to Gerrard. "I guess we get ready for a fight then." His words echoing Gerrard's actions.
As Bokofly buzzes around the door, a moment of clarity comes to him. He dumps Thwack's backpack on the floor and rummages though it. He pulls out a small roll of cloth tied with a leather strip. "Seen this done a thousand times." He pulls the small tools from the roll and attempts to open the door.
Frustrated at his feeble attempt to unlock the door Kei continues to unload Thwack's pack onto the floor. "Any of this look useful for jamming that mechanism?" His voice calm but he speaks quickly. He lays out a mess kit, some rope, an iron rod and finally a broken doll. He recoils slightly as he places the doll on the ground.
(I'm reading a 19 on that roll, and will use it unless you say otherwise.)
The firefly goes inside the office, and after glancing once to ensure there is no larger threat inside the office, shifts back into herself and then opens the door from the inside.
Boko-fly easily slips through a crack under the office door. Inside she finds a dingy, if fairly ordinary, office. It contains filing cabinets, a work desk, and a large table, along with two sets of rickety bunk beds (empty).
Boko resumes her humanoid form, and unlatches the door for Kei and Gerrard.
(Opening in the ceiling near the lift marked as an overlay.)
Gerrard climbs up on the crate under the opening and gets as high as he can, locking the iron rod under the ceiling opening. He then takes the rope and ties down the winch as best he can so that it won’t rotate.

If he can’t reach the ceiling, Gerrard will pull the adjacent smaller crate over and stack it on top of the larger crate so he can climb up and reach higher, locking in the iron rod (with button push) so as to prevent the platform from descending.
As Gerrard begins to stack crates and set the rod, a maned head suddenly peers over the edge of the opening, looking down at Gerrard with a low growl. At first, it very much resembles a lion's head, but then you see it has a human nose, humanoid eyes, and a bearded, toothy, maw. A massive, clawed feline paw grips one edge of the opening.
"Who... are you?" it growls aggressively, it's clawed paw tensed.
”Oh, heyyyyyyy there citissssen,” says Gerrard with a heavy slur, “I’m visiting royalty, dontchaknow, lookin ta do business with Miss Chum-good, uh, Chum-….uh the warehouse lady. She up there with ya?”
Peering around as if looking upwards for her, he adds, “Hey, fella, anyone ever told you ya have magnificent hair? What kind of conditioner doya use?” Leaning heavily against the crate, the young noble tries to nonchalantly smooth his own hair a bit self-consciously.

"Beg for your life and maybe we'll kill you swiftly," it snarls thickly. And then it springs through the opening, followed by two more identically massive, winged creatures.
The first one makes a feint, as the second one tears into Gerrard, not waiting for any begging from the noble. Bite Attack: 20. Hit: 10 piercing damage. Claw Attack #1: 9. Hit: 7 slashing damage. Claw Attack #2: 17. Hit: 5 slashing damage.
The third cruises forward in the air, circling to the north, before firing a trio of tail spikes at Gerrard. Tail Spike Ranged Attack #1: 6 . Hit: 6 piercing damage. Tail Spike Ranged Attack #2: 7 . Hit: 4 piercing damage. Tail Spike Ranged Attack #3: 24 . Hit: 9 piercing damage.
Everyone may act. Kei is about 55 feet away; Boko is 60' away.

Gerrard:
Gerrard replies with a smile, “I have pretended to be sober while drunk a few times, but not the other way around. It was harder than I thought.”
”I am guessing we need to head down where it is wet and hot, but I have never been in this building before,” he adds.

Insight 16 to discern how fearful the worker is. (Is he truly expecting lions or just a figure of speech?)
