GRUUN & HOX:
Once in the room, the door closes slowly behind you. The voice speaks from that direction, circling the room. "What is it that you come seeking? What is your goal? Why are you here?"

The pipes exude an aura of fear. Someone capable of playing them would be able to create an eerie tune that evokes this fear in nearby creatures.
Nothing disturbs your study, and as the hour passes, you have collected yourself and regained composure in the aftermath of the tense battle.
OOC: The short rest is complete and Killian can roll hit dice if she wishes. Added the pipes of haunting to her inventory.

Tanakir continues to stand as a bastion against the oncoming tide, clubbing the chest of one creature and sending it staggering while Rycider does what she can to bolster him. The wave presses, however, and one of the monsters wrenches the genasi toward it, grappling him and sinking its teeth into his neck.
OOC: One vampire spawn is fairly wounded, but so are Rycider and Tanakir. Tanakir's maximum hit points have decreased by 7.

Dragging the lifeless rogue by the back of his collar, Killian heads left to the wooden door. Depositing him against a wall, she draws her sword and examines the door for traps. Fool me once and all that.

Not seeing any traps, you kick the door open, revealing a strange room wrapped in a misty blue haze. A door across the room and another on the right side are closed. The room is empty, but the walls glow slightly with a light blue color.

RYCIDER & TANAKIR:
OOC: Botting Rycider for this round with a 4th level healing word.
Healing Word:12
Claws vs. Tanakir:23 Claws vs. Tanakir: 23Damage: 8 Claws vs. Tanakir: 22 Bite vs. Tanakir: 18
The scarred areas of Tanakir's hexed opponent begin to heal again, but the genasi puts the matter to rest with two more connecting blows. The vampire spawn falls dead, head crushed beyond repair. Rycider provides some healing as the remaining two enemies continue to press, but with their numbers halved, Tanakir has an easier time of turning aside their claws, even as the creature grappling him tries again to draw blood through its fangs.
OOC: Two enemies remain! Neither has been damaged (the psychic damage has been regenerated). Both Rycider and Tanakir are fairly wounded.
"Perhaps this is why we crossed paths," she say to the dead rogue. Sheathing her sword, she picks him up and heaves him into the room as far as she can throw him.
A tone of annoyance creeps into the circling voice. "I offer my help to you at no cost, should you wish to rejoin ones that you seek. If you do not accept what I offer, then you have no place here," it says.

Rycider manages to crest the flesh of a spawn with her parasol, but the wound almost instantly heals. The creature turns its attention to her, unable to get past the defenses of her weapon as it swats away. Tanakir feels fangs break his flesh again, but his dark divine energy heals him while his club begins to glow again, renewed with magical energy.
"You have fruit but no stick. How? If there is fruit, there tree, if there tree, there stick." Hox says, trying to make sense of this, in his own way. "You must have stick!"
Rycider tries keeping the fanged creature at bay with the parasol, popping it open in a vain effort.
Tha one flippin Mallygoat flippin creature that I can''t flippin deal wiff! She turns her head to Tanakir and her voice, and new accent, takes on a two-toned quality that reverberates through the room.
"Two!?" the voice erupts. "You would counter my assistance with greed? One! Name one or leave, else you incur rage and wrath, bandits. One watches your greed. One is weighed down by tooth and fang, while one howls in desperation. One."

KILLIAN:
By the time you approach the body, a glow begins to emanate from the walls of the room. The walls become white, then gradually depict a different scene, each centered on a familiar face. Two walls display Gruun and Hox as they circle around a dim room filled with rotten apples, befuddled looks etched on their faces. The other two show Rycider and Tanakir in the throes of desperate combat, each of them fighting off an undead creature with two others fallen at their feet. The undead look to have the upper hand.
As the seconds pass, the images displayed on the wall become more and more lifelike, as if there isn't even a wall separating you from them. A form materializes a few feet away, in the center of the room: An ethereal image of a young woman with long, flowing hair, forever locked in ghostly youth.
"Do you seek ones?" the ghost asks. "Do you see now, the importance of your cooperation? Alone, you live, but cannot succeed. Without you, the other ones struggle. One has fallen. Two ones flounder, not able to grasp the depth of their folly. Two ones teeter at the edge of a cliff, nearly fallen without your strength."

The cracked bone begins to heal while Rycider, darting swiftly about the space around Tanakir, remains out of the other creature's reach, attempting to assist where she can with her bardic magic.
