"Norry," the young man answers. "We met once before." He stares wistfully toward the misty island, then responds to Killian. Distant screeches filter from the mist as he speaks.
"I confess to know little about your war, and I want no part in it. You have helped me more than once, but I don't know if I can trust all of you. I hope that I have helped repay that debt. Your ship is on the other side of the island - Maverick, was it? I can take you there if you would like."
Gruun lets out a long sigh. "And here I thought we had finally gotten to the straight forward part. If the mage isn't here then we don't need to be either. Let us get back to the strange waters and continue our search."
Killian does not move. She rests her hand on the hilt of her sword. “We could end this now,” she says loudly, so that Gruun and Rycider can hear as they walk away.
She turns to the boy. “I would stake my life that this boy, Norry, is a young Denorian. I know you mean us no harm, Norry, as I mean you none. But the man you become will be responsible for much suffering, something I have dedicated my sorry life to fighting. I stay my hand only because I know the consequences of killing you now could be... well, I do not fully understand them, but every fiber of my being cries out for me to strike you down now.”
She will Ready Hold Person to trigger if Norry tries to flee.
Tanakir places his hand on Killian's shoulder, "Peace. I thought much the same thing, but I doubt that killing him in this mad place would do anything. Judging by the way we saw our own butchered corpses again and again, killing someone does not stop all versions of them from existing, only that one. So unless our Denorian has de-aged himself, ending this boys life will not accomplish anything."
He then turns his attention to Norry, "Though, we will have you answer our questions. How did you find us when we were fighting the simulacrum? Could we do the same to find the real Denorian?"
Tanakir gives Killian a dark look, "There is no hope of such a thing, and even if there were, I would not condone it. There are some lines that should never be crossed, that I know."
Killian looks at Tanakir with her brilliant blue eyes. “One day you will look down, and see you have already crossed over that line. Will you give up then, and plead with your god for absolution? Or will you continue to do what must be done?”
Tanakir seems to be recalling something far from his past as he speaks, his eyes going out of focus, "I have crossed that line long ago, I am just trying to make sure that you all stay on the right side of it."
"No matter your decisions, know that I have made mine."
"Killian, we have traveled long ways together and I trust you like few others. I have never followed a god or read of laws. I mean no harm to those that mean none, and bring death to those that deal it. The past is done and the future is never here, there is only now.
This one does not bring us death and has done the opposite. I have no fight with him and neither should you."
"No, wait! I just saved you," Norry shouts, not fleeing, but backing to a cautious distance. "I don't know anything of your plight, or even who you are exactly, but I am not that old man. All you would accomplish by destroying me would be to kill the man that just helped pull you out of there!" he says, pointing to the center of the island where the shrieks are increasing in volume.
In the recesses of your minds, familiar music begins to play.
Norry answers Tanakir's questions with sweat beading his brow. "You...it's complicated, but you, yourselves, knew exactly where you would be. Well, not you, exactly...how did the gnome put it, they were mirrors, as the old man is. He is not supposed to be here, nor were they, but they knew where to find you. I possess a limited power to teleport, and I used it to bring you out of there. It is an ability that I have always had, but I can only use it here, in this place, for some reason. I could bring you back to the old man's stronghold, but it would be worth nothing. You have already destroyed his flesh, and his creatures will be wild now."
Hox is really confused as he holds his head. "So...like lizard clan? They still die but we take rock from them? Small one can explain better than Hox...Wait, where is gnome?" He looks about when Norry mentions a gnome.
"Strange kobold, really strange." Hox says as he looks to Norry, "Who you?" he asks.
Killian just blinks at all the strangeness. “If we are affecting the... course of events, then there is still a chance we can be successful?”

"But...magic man here. Clan man wants that one dead." Hox says.

"Search" is probably not the word ah would use. "Stumble Blindly" is perhaps more accurate. Rycider will follow Gruun

Killian growls something in Goblin, but her hand releases her sword, and her feet shift to a more relaxed stance.

Rycider says nothing for a moment. She does however secret a dagger to her palm.
His flesh is gone you say, but there is more to do I gather?
