Before either Dart or Murph manage to get away from the back of the room, the automaton dressed in a men's frock and carrying a cane suddenly displays a speed you didn't expect and draws a silvered sword from the cane and stabs at Murph, seeing as he stands closer to safe.
I'm allowing perception checks for Dart and Blair, since they would observe the attackwithout having to try and dodge it.
Before Dart is able to react, the mechanical doll from around the teddybears suddenly springs to life and hurls a long sewing needle at dart.
The second of the large automata, wearing a simple pink dress with lace trimmings turns around at the sound of Blair entering the shop, but Dart gets to react first.
Attack v Murph: 16 vs 13 for 10 damage.
Attack v Dart: 16 vs 14 for 4 damage.
Initiative order is: "Male" automaton, "Puppet", Dart, "Female" automaton, Murph, Blair. Next up, Dart!

Dart, you notice that the male automaton is far faster than the female one, and, you surmise to your horror, probably fast enough to catch you or at least keep up with you if you ran. The female automata seems far more sluggish in comparison. After you get hit by the needle, you turn around to see the puppet perched on the shelf, with a whole pincushion of needles at the ready.

I quickly feint forward then duck down and quickly move towards the counter (BA disengage). Easily bounding over the counter I attempt to pin the automaton to the wall behind it while searching for someway to shut it down. Saying to Murph at the same time, “I don’t think we’re going to be able to run fast enough to get away from this thing.”

Although the automaton is quick, the sudden movement caught it by surprise and as it tries to block the oncoming halfling with a parry, Dart's knee lands square in the middle of its metallic chest, knocking it against the wall. Before recovering, Dart presses it up against the wall, holding it in place for now.
The female automaton, the more sluggish of the two, seems to decide for a moment, before turning to face Blair and moving towards her, and barely reaching the door.

Murph, nearly ready to grab what he can and bolt, looks up suddenly at Dart at his warning. Plans change. That's okay. Mitigating disasters it is.
He turns with a small dagger in one hand, and a small hammer in the other. Looking for a place on the automaton to potentially disable it, he closes for an attack on the other side of the machine, hoping for a power source or a switch of some kind to hit with the hammer, and some kind of important cable to hit with the dagger. Pressing his advantage on the restrained robit, he attacks.
The dagger easily slices through the fine fabric of the shirt the automaton is wearing, but otherwise skids off harmlessly againsthe metal encasing. The hammer connects just under the armpit of the robot though and the impact dents the plate. Though, to your dismay, the damage seems to have done little to impede the automaton's flailing attempts to escape the pin, and you fear your attack might have done less than expected.

“*****!” Blair would gasp. “These are my best work leathers!” She’d whine. The redhead would quickly draw her daggers, twirling them between her well manicured fingers before gripping them in the palm of her hands. Hardening her expression, she’d retaliate against the bot. With swift dancing strides, Blair would lash out with her blades against the ladybot’s inner elbows and neck.

Blair, your first blade connects and you can feel the blade punch through the solid metal plating, but the offhand attack glances off, leaving a long tear in the dress, but no other discernible damage. As you withdraw the blade within the main body of the automaton, you can see some of the internal wiring to be damaged, but much like Murph, you realise too that the damage is not as substantial as you hoped.
Dart, you strain as the male meachatronic assistant tries to break loose. As you notice it straining though, you put one mechanical arm in a Figure-four lock. The machine strains against the hold, but can't break free.

Seeing two of you engaged with the male automaton, the small mechanical puppet hurls another dart at the two of you, this one at Murph, partially hidden behind the counter. Murph, having spent some time focussed on these automata before everything blew up in your faces, you didn't notice any obvious off-switches. But you are sure there must be some way to turn them off, if only so that their creator could enact repairs. Whatever it was though, you need to find it quickly, and for all three of them.

Murph takes his action to investigate the male automaton for a way to switch it into a friendly mode, or make it not hostile to the group, or, failing that, to shut it off.
Investigation with help: 26
He'll use any cunning action/bonus action to try to switch it off/switch it friendly.
Murph, you start to scan the writhing body of the automaton, but you can't seem to make out anything underneath the clothes they wear. You feel panic welling up inside of you, as there's no way you can determine where the offswitch is... there's just no way... Wait! The epiphany strikes with such force, that Murph has to hold onto something momentarily. What if there wasn't an off switch, but some kind of remote? The safe had contained a space for a ring, but it was empty, likely on the hand of the tailor, as a means of letting him leave the shop without being attacked. But without that ring...?
Taking two deep breaths, you steady your thoughts. There must be a way to turn these off besides that ring, since it could get stolen or be lost or something. But that would need something that could turn them each off at the same time, as otherwise he'd have to battle these too... The only thing that comes to mind is some sort of key phrase that would affect them all.
Your eyes glance at the papers, some still in the safe, some scattered before it. Not paying any attention to the mechanical designs on them, you instead search for a phrase on the plans, not attached to any sketches or schematics. With your singular focus, you find a phrase on two of the sheets: "Override: Would you kindly..."

Blair would narrow her eyes suspiciously at the female bot, her daggers still drawn. Eventually she’d glance to the pair with wide, slightly confused eyes. She wasn’t thoroughly impressed with her own performance. Mind you, it had just been a long day already. “Are we coming or going?”
Looking at Blair I simply shrug my shoulders and jerk my thumb towards Murph, “Up to this guy.” As I let go of the robot hoping I don’t regret doing so.
“You said you just wanted to copy how to make these things right? Do you have what you need? I don’t think we should stay much longer after all that ruckus.” I look intently into the chest with the gold and other valuables trying to weigh the risk/reward potential of taking them....
Murph blinks and sighs a brief "hufff" of relief as the automata stop.
"That was a disaster, and it's going to be more of one if we stick around. The runes went off loudly, the robots are disturbed and clothes torn, and this is quite obviously a robbery. Plan's still grab and go. Might as well take some of the coin and gems too, to make it look legit," Murph says, grabbing the scrolls, stuffing them in his pack, tossing the bag of coin to Dart, and a manageable number (to catch) of gems to Blair. He stuffs the remainder of the gems into his pack. He places two back in the strongbox after a quick look at the images of his family.
"We'll sort this later. Let's go!"
He looks around and doesn't even try to rearrange things. He joins Blair at the door, then looks back at the automata. "Would you kindly return to your places?"he tries as a last shot before looking outside for any attention, and trying to hide as he leaves.
“Sounds good to me.” I agree stashing the proffered items. Moving to Blair I whisper quietly to her. “Might want to keep an eye on this one... he nearly got us killed.” I then make haste into the street towards the next closest and safest place to lay low.
Blair would catch the gems before tucking them safely in the front of her leathers, adjusting her chest. A soft chuckle would leave her lips when Dart would lean in to whisper to her. “Enjoy the rush. We can watch later.” She’d wink at him. The redhead would slink out of the establishment with the boys, looking for their next place to lie low to figure out their next steps.
