Then she heads back towards the room and creeps across the gap towards the equipment, taking it slow and navigating the long way around by heading down south and then back up.
You can follow the wall with your hand easily enough. How far back up do you want to go when you get to the end shown below? Remember, it's dark, so you can't see anything.
Lyngheid moves up to the corner of the room with the Flameskull, keeping out of sight, she looks for Nyx with her darkvision unsure of what she has planned.

Make a Stealth check for moving to the edge of the hallway.
To see much you can see Nyx with your darkvision (at least until she goes behind the furnace), make a Perception check.
Umbriel will move up to the edge of the hallway behind Lyngheid, and then use the Blessing of the Raven Queen to bamf thirty feet over, into the dry channel (next to the water wheel) if possible.
I don't want Nyx to stumble in the dark so she mit stay on the left hand side of the forging contraptions and work her way up along side them as the party moves closer and she can see more.
Basically closing within 30 feet if possible to make an attack from holding when the battle starts.

Baeshra moves up to about 20 feet back from the opening, still in dino form and waits for the go word, which he may have forgotten to tell them, maybe he could teach Whistler some dino-speech compatible words...

Nyx slowly and quietly feels her way along the dusty machinery, inching her way forward and feeling with her foot for the edge of the dry channel. She eventually finds it and slowly lowers herself down into the dry channel, and then creeps around the water wheel getting to within 30 feet of the floating skull. Just as soon as she gets in range, she bumps into a soft and squishy Umbriel who appeared right in front of her.
Unfortunately, Umbriel nudges the wheel when he bamphs right next to it and it lets out a squeal. The flameskull spins to face the noise and suddenly twin rays of fire are in the air, one heading for Umbriel and one for Nyx!
Attack on Umbriel: 18. The ray of fire smashes into the old water wheel instead of Umbriel!
Attack on Nyx: 12, this one streaks past Umbriel and sizzles as it flies right into Nyx, doing 14 fire damage.
Everyone roll initiative, and take your turn if higher than 11.
Rosie hears the fire rays whiz through the air. She says "Oh, dear, they've been made!"and runs as far as she can into the room, casting Aid on Lyngheid, Whistler and Umbriel (+5 to current and maximum hit points for 8 hours).
Droop dashes into the room and shoots at the Flameskull: 26. The arrow flies right into the Flameskull for 9 damage, and Droop adds a Distracting Strike, doing an additional 8 piercing damage, and granting Advantage to the next attack on the Flameskull.
Umbriel mumbles a quick apology, then scrambles to make some room between him and Nyx. He climbs out of the channel on the east side, and sends two Eldritch Blasts at the Flameskull.
Umbriel climbs out of the dry channel and then fires off two quick blasts. Both go wide!
Whistler gets out where he can see the Flameskull, and taps Dino-Baeshra and tries to get him to turn into a Spider and take him for a ride. (Can only ready an action, not movement).
Baeshra runs out in Dino-form and, using the power of his magical tattoo, sends 3 impressive attacks at the Flameskull, all hitting and doing some big damage!
Nyx uses one of her precious magical bolts to try and bring the Flameskull down to melee range, but unfortunately, the bolt sails into the ceiling, missing the flameskull.

Lyngheid stepped round the corner and summoned the symbol of her goddess to smash into the dead thing. At the same time she called on her goddess to aid her companions.
Ireniana advantage on first attack from Droop's Distracting Strike: 11
That'll do it folks, a first round takedown before the Flameskull even gets to it's turn!
Lyngheid's Spiritual Weapon (No Aid as both are 2nd level spells, although now that we are out of initiative, you can cast your AId spell if you want) crashes into the Flameskull as Ireniana's arrows catch it in the eyes, and the flames die out and the Flameskull crashes to the ground.

Also, make another Stealth check for this part.

Now what?
"Whistler! Bring that holy water over here - quench the obnoxious little jerk," Umbriel says. "Nyx, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get you burned."
Droop sits down, removes a ration from his pack and says "Droop need rest and arrows!"
