With the manticore splattered all over the hillside, the rogue finds it easier to retrieve it's tail spikes, and he looks for any kind of poison gland that he might be able to salvage...(poisoner's kit proficiency: 10)
As Lanariel deftly cuts into the creature, Gareth-Wyn pokes it contemplatively. "Where did this thing come from, Ms. Gwynn? It seems most strange for such a creature to appear at random."
"I agree." Adabra admits. "It's like the recent arrival of the white dragon has definitely put some of the more local creatures on edge, or displaced. Here. Take this. Thank you for saving me."
"Um, maam? Did you not hear the mention of a dragon? The town is worried about you. Can you come with us? Even if just for the day to talk it through with them."
"We have met our end of the bargain - we ensured she is safe and warned her of the dragon. I do not think she would like being taken by force...so we return and report this to the townmaster."
I’m afraid I might have to side with Lanarial on this one Iri. She seems like she does NOT want to leave her tower. I mean, who can blame her? This is a truly picturesque spot.... well, aside from all the manticore bits. We’ll just have to take care of the dragon before it comes here for her. Right Fern?

BACK AT PHANDALIN:
Returning back to Harbin Wester in Phandalin, he is more than happy to pay you all for the three quests. 50gp + 50gp + 25gp = 125gp total for the group. Even though you were not able to have Adabra to come with you, verbal verification that she is alive and well is good enough for Harbin. From the closed door, and still afraid, he tells you that there is more jobs on the job board for you to peruse, should you wish to continue helping the town, earning money, and gaining wisdom and experience with the ultimate journey to finish Cryovain.
Butterskull Ranch Quest.“Orcs have attacked Butterskull Ranch, five miles east of Conyberry along the Triboar Trail! Travel there with haste, assess the damage, and help any way you can. Ranch owner Alfonse “Big Al” Kalazorn is a retired sheriff who can reward you for your efforts. If he’s dead, return to Townmaster Harbin Wester with proof of Kalazorn’s demise to receive a reward of 100 gp.”
Loggers’ Camp Quest.“Deep in Neverwinter Wood, along the river that flows west toward Neverwinter, is a logging camp. Every two months, Phandalin delivers fresh supplies to the camp, which is run by the half-brother of Phandalin’s townmaster, Harbin Wester. Barthen, the local provisioner, has prepared a new delivery. He needs someone to bear the supplies safely to the camp. Return to Harbin Wester with a notice of delivery signed by his half-brother, Tibor Wester, to claim your reward of 100 gp.”
Mountain’s Toe Quest. “The Mountain’s Toe Gold Mine lies fifteen miles northeast of Phandalin. The new overseer, Don-Jon Raskin, just made the trip from Neverwinter to Phandalin and needs to be escorted to the mine. There’s no telling what dangers lie between here and there. Once you deliver Raskin safe and sound, return to Townmaster Harbin Wester to collect a reward of 100 gp.”
"Let's take all three jobs - we'll map them out and make a loop. I do need to purchase some supplies, though. Townmaster, is Barthen the only place in town to purchase provisions, arms, and armor? What about other items, like herbs and oils?"
Lanarial will visit any stores he finds, looking for new arrows (1 gp), a grappling hook (2 gp), some more trail rations (4 days for 2 gp) and a poisoner's kit (50gp). If there is any kind of local thieves' guild rep, he will want to find that out, too...
Vi nods in agreement with Lanarial. "A quick loop. Shouldn't be too hard."
The half-elf takes a trip of her own while Lanarial is supply-shopping, stopping by the guard house.
The captain glanced out the window of her office and raised an eyebrow at what she saw. "LT, I'm stepping out for a moment, I'll be right back," she called before heading out the side door.
"Silvi Kaua," she greeted the half-elf leaning against the guard house wall. "And Talav, of course," she added to the raven on Vi's shoulder. "Saw some of the Raven's handiwork a few weeks back. Didn't know you were in Phandalin."
Vi shrugged. "Heard there was a dragon in the area you guys could use a bit of help with. Not to mention some orc troubles. Which is why I'm here, actually."
"Too much to ask for you to just drop by to say hello then, I guess."
Vi rolled her eyes. "You say that every time, Captain. We can get a drink once I'm done with my next trip. Which includes orcs and Butterskull Ranch. We've already run into orcs once, what's up with them around here?"
"Dragon drove them out," the captain explained. "They used to be up in the Hold, but now Cryovain lives there, so they're looking for a new place. Wait...Butterskull Ranch...is Big Al okay?"
Vi shook her head. "Don't know, but I'll let you know once I'm back in town." She stood from against the wall. "Thanks, Dana."
"Get me that drink when you're back and we'll call it even," the captain replied with a smile. "See you soon, Vi. Don't get impaled by an orc."
Vi grinned. "I've gotten pretty good with this." She tapped the hilt of her sword. "I don't plan on getting impaled any time soon. Maybe we can even do a little sparring when I get back, my blade against those sickles of yours."
"Be prepared to lose," the captain tossed over her shoulder as she headed back inside.
Vi chuckled to herself, then glared at Talav as he ruffled his feathers and gave a meaningful caw. "Oh shut up, you." The half-elf made her way back to the group, a faint smile on her face.
When Vi rejoins the group, there's a faint smile on her face. "Let's get going, shall we?"
Studying the map carefully, Gareth-Wyn frowns a little. "It seems to me that some of these requests are more urgent than others. Perhaps it is better to help at Butterskull first, delivering Master Raskin on the way, and then to cut back either along the road or through the woods to help the logging camp?"
"Yeah - I see what you mean, Gareth. We'd better head to Butterskull Ranch soo, then come back here to get the supplies and the mine overseer and escort them to where they need to go. Not a single loop this time. Still...easy enough, I suppose. I'll grab my things on the way out of town."
While they travel, Lanarial will scout the area along the path looking for some plants and berries and fungi for his poisoner's kit, gathering these extra ingredients and produce a dose of a toxin that he can apply to either arrow or blade edge...
"More stupid orc..." Iri grumbles as she follows the group through town picking up supplies. As she wanders by the tanner's store she sees an interesting suit of armor made out of strange leathery hide and furs. It is a hefty jacket of fur, with leather laid inside and out in important places strengthening the armor. She slips off and asks the shop keep for it and buys it (hide armor 10gp).
Skipping back with the group, she feels a calling in her mind, Seek knowledge, find truths, improve life, discover your calling. The goddess of moon's voice left as quickly as it came and Iridansa stopped. Looking around she sees two young children playing with sticks, pretending that they are great adventurer's armed with mighty swords. Smiling Iri walks up to them and grabs two good sized sticks laying nearby. She casts druidcraft to shape these sticks into simple but well made wooden blades. Giving them to the kids, she feels like she has greatly improved their lives and they go back to playing with renewed vigor. Stepping quickly, she skips back to her friends and follows them towards their next adventure.
“I agree, however the jobs we’ve been doin, aren’t ever just a milk run. There are always complications, so we need to be on our toes.” His face turns grim for a second, before softening into a grin and a soft chuckle, “I’m confident we’ll handle any unforeseen complications with the grace and class that we’ve heretofore displayed, eh?” He gives a wink.
OOC: I think we might need to go straight to butterskull, since it sounds like it will be a tougher fight. If we try and take the overseer and get caught up in some kind of skirmish, we’ll be at a disadvantage at the ranch
With the manticore splattered all over the hillside, the rogue finds it easier to retrieve it's tail spikes, and he looks for any kind of poison gland that he might be able to salvage...(poisoner's kit proficiency: 10)
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
As Lanariel deftly cuts into the creature, Gareth-Wyn pokes it contemplatively. "Where did this thing come from, Ms. Gwynn? It seems most strange for such a creature to appear at random."
"I agree." Adabra admits. "It's like the recent arrival of the white dragon has definitely put some of the more local creatures on edge, or displaced. Here. Take this. Thank you for saving me."
She gives each of you a potion of healing.
"Do you require an escort back to Phandalin? We are heading back there ourselves..." Lanarial offers as a way of saying thanks for the potion.
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
"No, thank you, strange underdark elf, i'll be ok. Thanks for the assist!" she waves, and closes the shutter doors.
"Um, maam? Did you not hear the mention of a dragon? The town is worried about you. Can you come with us? Even if just for the day to talk it through with them."

Vi sighs and shrugs, sheathing her sword. "Guess so."

You can find anything in the PHB as far as supplies go, but no magic items.
