Smash!You enter area 3. This undecorated hall features a creaky and moldy wooden staircase leading upstairs. Looking into AREA 4 is a parlor. The door to this parlor has been smashed to pieces. The room is strewn with broken furniture — the remains of chairs, side tables, and a wine cabinet. A moldy circular rug covers most of the stone floor. Finally, AREA 5 is a dining room. The walls are covered with crude drawings in blood that depict boars chasing stick-figure humanoids. A fireplace dominates the south side of the room, and a smashed wooden dining table lies in a heap in the eastern half of the room, surrounded by six broken chairs.
Oddly, the stick figures have a horrible resemblance to you all.
As Tex is sketching the drawings from the dining room in his notepad, taking a sample of dirt and checking it against other samples he peeks over at Vi kicking stuff. (Lol the Investigation check disparity tho...) "Everything ok over there, miss Vi? You seem to be in a hostile disposition over these orcs."

Vi narrows her eyes. "They've always been a pain in my ass, even when they were up on Icespire. But now they're screwing with the rest of the area." She sighs. "There's just always someone new causing trouble around here."
Area 6 appears to be a kitchen. Nature has run roughshod over this kitchen, whose furnishings are wholly decayed. The outside door was broken down years ago, and rats have chewed holes in the bottom of the door leading to the pantry. Much of the roof above area 7 has collapsed, leaving debris scattered across the floor. Birds have made nests on the wooden shelves that line the north and south walls. Rats long ago devoured anything they could reach, and all other foodstuffs have rotted away.
Area 8: Stone steps lead down to a flagstoned courtyard that has a pillared arcade to the east. Seven windows on the upper level overlook the courtyard, in the middle of which is a five-foot-wide stone well with thick vines erupting from it. Guttural snorts and yells erupt from the southeast corner of the manse, signaling the presence of orcs nearby.
"We haven't exactly been subtle this whole time. I'd say lets just pay them a visit," Iri says looking disturbed at the drawings on the wall. She follows Tex, sticking close, as she keeps her eyes open for movement above. 18
Tex moves boldly towards the door to Room 9, where the sounds are coming from, and, taking a page from Gareth's playbook, sparta kicks the door in. ATHLETICS: 18
And promptly lands on his butt, the door unharmed apart from a dirty boot print. "Perhaps I may not have been the person to kick open a door."
First, you notice in the courtyard a well, which is 30 feet deep, containing a Gulthias tree, the roots of which extend deep underground. With little room to spread out, the tree has grown into a malformed column of twisted wood with narrow gaps between its curling branches.
Two, a number of orcs pour out of AREA 9, wondering who "knocked". As this is happening, things begin to emerge from the Gulthias tree.

The rogue follows the group through the old house, moving softly from dark corner to shadowy splotch to a wall blocking him from view. Focused on the noises the orcs are making, he notices movement coming from the tree and immediately recognizes it from his days in the underdark. "Stonefall... enemies on both flanks..." he mutters but maintains his hiding spot.
Vi grins. "All right, that was exciting. Into the manse?"
