"Well... get it? Water pun... no I mean, I think this path might take us to that trident. Everything has been water based so far so with a heavy door I'd guess water in this one too," Bugs would respond. "Just tell me what ya think I should do to help."
When Rami would ask for help, A would provide it. They’d follow along into the next areas and when the others would pause to contemplate some thoughts and investigate further, it was a good time for the scholar to update their notes.
Not much to write here - there is nothing out of ordinary (if you consider the dungeon itself "ordinary", of course), the door is exactly the same as the previous two (though warmer, that is an achievement for the metal that thick). Same vibe of a floodgate.
"If we continue following this pattern some of the group won't be able to continue..." Leon says as he fidgits with the ring of fire resistance on his finger. "That next door feels quite warm after all, but it might be the last, who knows until we open it."
Bugs shifts from foot to foot. "Well, it's up to you all. The place is dangerous no matter what we do... If it gets hot we at least know there is a pool to cool down in," he says.
"Let's just make sure the doors don't slam shut behind us." Leon says, taking out his hammer and pitons. He hammers pitons in to keep the doors from closing behind them.
In addition to the pitons, Ramious also leaves a couple of javelins on the ground in the doorway, so that if the door closes, they'll jam it open, at least a crack. Then he pushes the next door open a smidge.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer? Class.
Hot steam immediately filled the room. Not deadly hot, it did not wound Ramious, but those familiar with "wet saunas" of the north would feel as if they suddenly walked into one. The sound of bubbling water was so loud it covered mountain rumbling. However, not water or lave rushed in, the other side seemed to safe enough to open the door.
Should Ramious risk to do it, you would find behind a huge cave with something (water, judging by the smell) boiling under the thick blanket of steam. The corridor from the dungeon continues out into the cave projecting into the boiling lake. Yet, the corridor stones are clearly seen in the milk-white mist, it seems as if they are under a magical force field that keeps scalding steam out. The floor, still covered with some water (though now you could tell the level is definitely lower) is more slippery than ever here, and the walls are dripping with the hot water.
A would close their eyes and allow the steam to wash over them. It was definitely hot, but good for the pores. They’d take some time to cast Detect Magic as a ritual to see if they sense anything in the area worth noting, most specifically, they’d be looking for any indication of Wave.
In immediate vicinity (30ft of the spell active radius) there is nothing - the boiling water and the steam are of the natural origin. Closer examination of the "force field" that keeps the road into the lake free from steam, gives and aura of transmutation, and to the touch feels like some elastic skin - soft, resilient, and uncomfortably warm. The shape of the corridor, covered by that protection, is not square in cross-section, but rather semicircular, as if a series of hoops were supporting the ceiling.
Likely in our new marching order, Ramious, Bugs, Leon, then A bringing up the rear.
"I'd hate to be the one that pierces that barrior with something." Leon remarks as he eyes the boiling water held back by the seemingly thin barrier. Does he feel that it is a force-field, so could take a hit, or is it more fragile, and a good poke might have them swimming?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The "skin" looks and feels very fragile - under any pressure it immediately becomes taut, and you do feel it would be wise to keep sharp object and dangerous spells away from it. More than this - Leon suddenly realized, his faithful two-handed sword is actually a very big weapon, almost too big for that "breathing" soft corridor with the semicircular ceiling.
After 30 feet the corridor gives way to an oval-shaped, also domed area enclosed by the same protective skin. Generally empty - as of "free from any kind of furniture", the stone floor is littered with bones rusty weapon and torn pieces of armor, you are definitely not the first people in this lair. At the far end there is a chest, big enough to hide a weapon if it is indeed there. However the sightseeing is cut short - the moment the group came to the "threshold" between the corridor and the lair, part of the floor in the middle raised up on eight massive legs and snapped two huge claws (one of which decorated with massive metal band) in your direction. The crab from nightmares made a step toward the party (it's 20ft from Ramious).

He presses the door open further so everyone can see. "Whew, it's warm in here all of a sudden. Was it something I said?" He grins.

The corridor is the same - 10ft - Ramious is ahead, anyone near by or do you move one after another? And in which order?
