And another "bug" found it's death on the end of Ramious rapier. The only one still around did not have time to turn around yet and was approaching Bernard.
Bernard sighed as the bugs came forth. Knowing they were dangerous and needed to be put down he aims at the one coming towards him and fires off an arrow.
They were not exactly bugs, but now they were definitely put down. No one knows how many of them are down there, of course, but for now the danger is over.
(Apologies Blue, I forget, have I had Alyssa investigate this part of the dungeon yet? We know it's Dwarven made, but do we know its purpose yet?)
Alyssa with let out a sigh of relief. At least the guys can strike a flying target. She'll catch herself feeling along the wall and investigating the structure of this section of the dungeon, familiarizing herself with its history, comparing it to the castle they walked through to get here. As she'd scan around staring at boring walls and jotting notes down, she'd respond to Bernard. "Rami should." After a pause she'd add, "You have a mage hand right?"
(Perhaps from her archaeology knowledge she can provide help on disarming traps?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ramious shrugs and moves forward. "If I muck it up, the fire will burn me a bit less....I can't muck around with a device like this with a magical floating hand."
He wanders over to it, carefully approaching to avoid any triggers, and attempts to analyze the trap and figure out how to disarm it.
Alyssa did studied wall paintings here. And her knowledge of architecture told her, that the room looks like those grand entrance halls, dwarves liked to build to emphasize the importance of the whatever lays beyond it (in this case, it seems the caves or whatever it is down the stairs).
Meanwhile, Ramious' sharp mind deduced, that though the trap's mechanism is not visible, the spouts on the wall can be tightly plugged with some durable material, that in turn would render the trap inactive.
Ramious examines his belongings and pulls out some ball bearings. Are they the right size to block the nozzles? If not, he begins looking around for small stones that might work. He'll hammer them into the nozzles to block the flame, or chew up some crackers and use it like mortar to fill the nozzles along with stones or whatever else he can find. He looks around at the group as he works, "Unless you got a better idea.... we'll have to wait a couple hours for it to dry though."

It might help to shape the small rocks more precisely, I'd say. So, after some time of trials an errors the plugs are in and it looks like the door might be pull-opened safely.
Leon, with his owl on his shoulder, stands back to watch as the door is opened, out of possible fire-spray zone, just in case the plugs don't hold for some reason.
Ramious watches Alyssa weave magic around the stones to reshape them. "That's a neat trick" he says, smiling at her. Once it's done, he makes sure Alyssa is out of the way, "No sense in more than one of us gettin torched." He then attempts to open the door, eyeing the stone plugs suspiciously.
The plugs worked perfectly and with Ramious strength it was not that hard to open the doors. The result was quite disappointing, though - the small room behind the door reveals the trap’s counterweight mechanism, as well as a system of pipes that connect the spouts to two 20-gallon copper drums (containing the substance for the fire trap). It is clear to even unprofessionals, the the liquids have to be mixed somehow to produce the flame, but that clearly would be a daring challenge to search for correct proportions on your own.
Judging by design, the trap is of dwarven origin, but why would they install it here - nobody can tell now.
"So, let me get this right, the door trap is just a trap and doesn't actually go anywhere?" Leon asks as he glances into the chamber beyond. (Unless I misunderstood and there is a passage behind the door that is...)

The creatures are attacking in a flock, and though nimbly as one unit dodged Alyssa's bolt, two of the fell to the broad swing of Leon's sword.
Only two are still flying.

"Do we check out this door with the fire spouts on it then?" Leon asks, nodding to the door they looked at in their previous venture into this area.
"Yes, lets." Bernard responds. "If I recall the fire spits out about 15 feet if triggered. Who wants to do the honors of trying to disable it?"

"I can shape the earth to help plug the holes?" She would assist Ramious' cracker plugging with earth and dirt.
