Cold water, relatively fast stream, fungus all around, slippery rocks - Acrobatics (beat DC13)
The moment Bernard stepped in, two very quiet splashes were heard by the most attentive from the northern part of the cave. But nothing happened. At first, at least. For a while it looked like all Bernard can find here is an ice-cold bath, but as he was moving through the pitch-black waters of the poorly illuminated cave, something softly touched his leg.
While the boys held the rope, If she’s able to see Bugs, she will keep an eye on him, ready to react. Alyssa would ready herself with a handful of pocket sand by the waters edge, watching intently.
(Putting my reminder here cause I had to search it out, hoping I could maybe offer a Portent, but I don’t think these would help lol. Self Note Portents: 9/10 available. (Dated June 12 correct me if I’m wrong on this blue :) ))
(It was supposed to be Acrobatics, but the roll is high enough anyway)
Bernard carefully step by step was descending into the cold pool. The water remained pitch black - even with darkvision bestowed on him by Leon, Bernard could not see throw it (or know if there even was anything to see). There ripples on the surface could as well be his own or coming from the stream. His movement, though, was not left unnoticed: Attack: 13 Damage: 6 + 5
Something now did not just touch, but hit his leg. The water softened the blow to a degree when it probably did not even left a bruise, but something was definitely under the water.
There was a new acetic note in the heavy bouquet of smells of this place now - something you more taste than smell.
(Everyone can freely attack with disadvantage - the monster is in the water but heavily obscured)
Alyssa will toss her pocket sand into the water, then with a large gesture of her hands she’d reach up, rocking on her tiptoes then come down, slamming her palms onto the ground, commanding the water to soak into the ground.
For a brief moment water around Bernard's legs disappeared, revealing some dark glass-like projection from the waterwalls around it, then the stream filled in the sudden gap. Still, it was enough for Ramious to hit whatever it was, though creature was completely silent and did not indicate anyhow if it was hurt at all.
Leon's axe disappeared in the pool with a splash. Now Bernard could try to attack his enemy.
"Doesn't work Lyssa! Listen!" Hue breaks his silence after all this time. "Lyssa! Water flows!"
Alyssa was feeling panic creep up. She'd groan to herself. She was doing so well. Shit. Shit. Shit.
"Listen Lyssa! You're smarter than this! Listen!"
Yeah I thought so too, but you're not helping! The wizard felt her heart pounding. Her hands were out contemplating her next action. She had no way of telling whether Bugs wanted out or not. Alyssa's eyes would dart around trying to see into the water.
"Look Lyssa, Look!"
"Hush Hue! I am!" She'll cover her familiar's mouth to force herself to take a moment to breathe. Focus.
I know you called for Bernard to see if he can see the threat, but can we? Can I see him?
Do we know if Bugs wants out?
If needed: Passive perception is 15, but if you need something higher or for me to roll: 20 + 1
(Boting Bernard for the sake of moving the fight a little)
Shooting into the dark water was pointless but Bernard tried to get his invisible opponent with the magical sword:
Attack: 19 Damage: 6
Attack: 8 Damage: 1
Disregard that attack
the attacker was still silent and still invisible in the water, but Bernard felt that his blade hit something soft.
The "thing" answered with another blow Attack: 8 Damage: 4 + 9 , that Bernard to his surprise evaded masterfully. And again, the smell of acid assaulted your nostrils.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Two incredibly precise strikes, another boost of a sharp acetic stench, and it seemed the battle was over - no more strange ripples, no attacks on the ranger in the still ice-cold water of the dark pool. The pool, by the way, was getting deeper and deeper to the middle. At the moment water was up to Bernard's waistline, but a few more steps and he risked getting full bath (with a guaranteed bouquet of cold related illnesses).
Leon frowns, now down one handaxe and little effect on his part. He was glad to see the others did better. "I'll cast detect magic, just to see if anything in there is magical." Leon suggests, nodding to the pool. " He does that then, casting detect magic as a ritual and looking around to see if anything detects as magical in the area.
No, nothing. It seems no one even drown in there with magical items on him (or if someone did, they were washed away by stream). The cave remains cold, stinky and very much mundane.
Ramious hops down into the water, reaching under its surface to retrieve his two javelins, returning them to the long quiver on this back.
He grins at Bernard as they stand in the deep water together, "Wow.....this water is ball bustingly cold..."
Can we get across the water and look around deeper in the room? Or have we already looked everywhere in here, in which case Ramious clambers up onto the rocks and out the way we came.

You would have to swim to cross it, but even if you do, all you can achieve is to get where you started - a freshly made hole leading to the dwarven "cemetery". And it does look like you saw everything to see in this stinking cave - aside from the mud-and-wattle door in the south-west corner (which is either stuck or blocked from the other side, at least, simple push or pull do not open it) there is nothing to see.
