"Well, I know dragons have a specific element they use, fire, ice and what not and they like to live near that kind of thing. So if it smells, is there a smelly element? Either way watch out for if it takes a deep breath because it will through something out of its mouth," Bernard adds in.
Ramious, "Or it's three mouths." He makes a knowing wink at Bernard. He waits to see if the Duergar responds to Leon's question, while tucking the potion away in a pocket. Once the Duergar has divulged his knowledge, "Alright, let's get this foolishness done with. Lead away."
Ghared glanced at Bernard: "Acid. That dragon spits acid. Likes water too". Then he silently marched the group through the rooms of the Keep. The door behind the throne led into a small chamber with a large table made of a single stone slab, dominating the room’s center, and old tapestries clinging to the walls.
There is a stone door in the far wall, carved with the dwarf’s visage that you’ve seen elsewhere, with one gray-skinned dwarf in scale mail and shield watching it. Your guide made a sign, and the guard stood aside.
The next room appears to be a bedchamber. In one corner to the south stands a large wooden sleeping platform, badly gouged by axe blows and partially burned. A table, a bench, and a writing desk have been similarly treated. In the middle of the southern wall, a space has been cleared for a simple sleeping pallet and a pair of large satchels. Two doors exit the room to the north. Ghared led you to the farthest (opening carefully and fist looking out, only then stepping outside). One corridor ending with the "wall", through yet another secret door (you probably can live here by this time - hidden doors look as a normal entrances to you) - and you find yourself in a cave.
The stream runs through that natural cavern before tumbling into a great chasm. You can see nothing but darkness below, although the splashing of waters deep below is barely audible over the roar of the waterfall.
Duergar pointed to a small ledge, partially hidden by a spur of rock, with an old chain ladder that leads down.
"Here. The dragon is down there, in the farthest cave on the island. I'll see you getting down." Whether it was a sign of respect or he just wanted to make sure you are going down, but he stand there, waiting.
(How long since we had a long rest? What time of day is it? Looks Like Leon's spell slots are full, should I go ahead and mark two off for darkvision again?)
Leon moves to the edge and glances down the waterfall. Spray from the fall mists around him as he takes in the view, then he glances to the others of the group.
"Are we ready for this, or does anyone need a rest prior to facing a dragon?" he asks. As he waits for the answer he moves to the ladder and checks it to make sure it is sturdy and looks to be capable of holding the group's weight.
There was no battle since your last long rest (time of the day is hard to tell underground), just walking and exploring for 2-4 hours. Darkvision might come handy, yes.
Ramious shrugs and leaps off the edge. His wings plume out as he falls, slowing his descent until he lands at the bottom. The leathery wings creak as they fold back in on themselves. He looks around at the bottom and waits for the others to join him.

Duergar watched the jump with poorly hidden amazement and then looked at the rest of the group, probably curious whether they are going to jump down as well, or use the ladder.
To Ramious
Fearless tiefling flew down along the waterfall - cold drops covering the wings, damp air filling lungs, and the roar of the waterfall practically deafening him. At the bottom he had glide across the whirlpool to land on it's muddy bank, where he could now safely wait for his companions.
"Guess we aren't waiting then..." Leon says with a grin, glancing down as he watches Ramious spiral down to a landing far below. (or as far as his darkvision reaches anyway...) He then moves to the ladder and starts his own less quick way down to catch up with Ramious.
Bugs looks out over the edge. "Yeah, ladder sounds fine," he mutters and then begins to follow the decent down. While climbing he's thinking to himself what all he can do to help stavd off a dragon. Hopefully it goes better than the rock monster thing.
Alyssa had some fancy tricks of her own too, though she’d be guilty of smiling softly with a little jealousy as Ramious descends down with his pair of wings. She’d follow the others down the ladder, deciding that reserving her magic was still the course of action to take. Though Hue would take the opportunity to spread his wings, flying down to where the others we waiting, circling until Alyssa’s feet touched the ground down below.
The chain ladder ends just above the ground and you all found yourself in a big dark cave. A thundering spray of water fills this chamber, pooling and flowing out to join a larger river to the north. You are deafened by the echoing sound of the waterfall and assaulted by heavy moist air. The mud along the whirlpool looks disturbed by tracks of some kind, left by someone really big. The tracks lead away from the pool to the north and into the water of the river again.
Across the river built a wide enough stone bridge (5ft wide). You are on the south side of the construction and on the north side of the bridge, a ledge continues to the east. That bridge looks somewhat dented but safe enough to cross.
Knowing the others cannot hear him, Leon lifts his hands in a gesture of uncertainty. He nods to the river, then to the bridge, and raises an eyebrow to the others. He would then nod a second time to the bridge, trying to let the others know it was the path he would pick if they wanted his opinion.
Reaching up though he grips the hilt of the greatsword, which sways above his left shoulder, ready to be drawn. he puts a foot in one of the massive footprints, trying to judge how much bigger the creature that made it is than himself. he glances again to the river, shaking his head slightly, not certain he wants to fight whatever made the tracks, though it might be the dragon...
He nods again to the bridge, a bit more decisively this time, but still waits for the others to respond.
Ramious watches Leon pantomime through the situation. Then he grins and points at him. In his head Leon hears, "I think we should take the bridge. What do you think? Just kidding!"
Seeing everyone has descended safely, careful of his footing in this wet environment, Ramious heads to the bridge. He moves as stealthily as he can.
"Funny, funny, funny..." Leon replies back through the link of the Message spell. He follows after Ramious, also watching his footing as he moves onto the bridge. His hand is up on his greatsword hilt as he steps onto the bridge, watchful for anything strange or of concern about the bridge. He makes sure his footing is secure, and the bridge is not slippery, as he moves onto it more fully.
No one came to look at Ramious silent approach (on the other hand - with a roaring waterfall, may be no one could hear?). After a short distance, the ledge leading east bends to the south, and a second bridge surmounts the river.
If the first bridge looked solid if a bit slippery, that one looks downright dangerous - it has settled considerably, some of its stone blocks leaning precariously and have a curiously pitted appearance. As expected, though, this is the only way forward.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Is that thing going to hold our weight?" Leon asks as he looks over the second bridge. He moves up to the edge of it, but does not step on, giving it a intense look over...

"How far would you say it is to the other side?" Leon asks Ramious with a cock of his head, trying to estimate it himself as well. He rubs a hand over his chin as he considers the problem of the bridge, not wishing any of them to fall into that river. "We should, at the very least, tie a rope to each of us, so we can aid each other..." He glances to Ramious. "Unless you can carry us across one at a time..."
Actually, the river is not that wide - 10ft most (the bridge itself is about 15ft). The stream is very fast and cold, though, and falling in might be quite dangerous. Leon could guess that stone blocks deteriorated not from a natural aging but because of outside force - acid, judging by the look of it. Now, a bit away from the waterfall, you begin to feel that acidic taste in your mouths and noses too.
"Well I can magic myself across." Leon says with a nod at the bridge. "Ramious can fly across, so we just have to get the rest of you over..." He pulls a rope from his pack. "I think we should have me cross first, and Ramious bring one end of the rope to me. We'll tie it to whomever is crossing first, and I can anchor the other end for you." He glances to the group as he holds the rope in his hand. "Will that work or do you guys have a different idea?"
(I will cast jump for Leon to jump the river. it triples his jumping distance so the ten foot river shouldn't be a problem.)
