When the group stepped deeper into the corridor and reached the bear head, everyone could see that the corridor does continue north and then turns. On the west wall - in front of the turn - is what appears to be the head of an eagle, with its beak open. Something shines from within the eagle’s mouth.
The western passage (the one that Ramious chose for investigation) is straight, dry, wide enough for two people to walk abreast and looks completely harmless. Closer to the end of the corridor is an opening (about 30ft long), leading to a small alcove holding a three-foot-tall stone pedestal on which rests a small silver coffer. Fifteen feet in front of the alcove, there is a single small step up in the stone floor. Inside the alcove, the floor is elevated an additional two feet.
The corridor itself is going further and turns, ending in front of a massive bronze door. Inevitable sun symbol decorates the door frame and on the door itself a warrior with a spear is engraved.
"There's something shining in the eagle's mouth. Hold up a second and I'll grab it. Also prepare for whatever may happen as a result." He waits just long enough for them to catch the warning and the stretches out a hand. From beneath his sleeve a mass of his fey bugs flys out to the eagle's head, with them standing about 30feet back and tries to pluck the gold item from hit's beak and return it.
Ramious stands, waiting patiently, his hand clutching and unclutching the grip on the axe in his hands, as if he's trying to wring the life out of the poor thing.

What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer? Class.
"Maybe, yah? Could be a key and that was a trap to remove someone's hand. Maybe we jam a dart or piton in its mouth beforehand?" Bugs responds. With a fluck of the wrist he produces a dart and overs it up.
Two crowbars applied from both sides (it was not easy, the beak was shut tight) eventually broke the lower part of the beak from it's hinges and it fell to the stone floor. Aside rolled a strange silver figurine, narrow, with fins, looking somewhat fish-like. Written on the side of this figurine are strange runes - not the glyphs you saw before (they form a word - "Ilnedraw" which does not really make any sense). On the slimmer end there is a small arched square panel.
Bernard will use his bugs to raise up the fish and inspect it. He will set it down and then will use the bugs to press on the panel. "Little fish little fish let me in."
The bugs were a good choice for the job - miniature panel was meant for truly deft fingers. Fey did open it and out of the small compartment behind a single bead dropped on the floor. The figurine raised into the air, it's fins beating like the wings of a humming bird - and fast as a lightning flew into the corridor in front of the eagle head, making strange zig-zags. The dark corridor answered with a hissing sound of sand, pouring on the floor. From the walls of the corridor (or may be niches in that wall?) some figures begun to emerge and the closest of them turned their mummified faces toward you.

Alyssa had puttered along with the boys, following them down the suggested Bear path by Ramious. Though, when they would decide to hastily go after what ever was in the eagles mouth, she'd stand aside chewing her lips. The elf would jot a couple notes down before putting her notebook away to prepare herself to try to be useful in some way. They managed just fine to access what they were looking for, right?
Her head would slowly turn to the sound of sand pouring, eyes falling upon the mummified faces.

Some emotions would wash over Alyssa's face before hardening. She'd step up to the group of undead without any fear, getting within reach of as many of them as she could. Speaking n her soft singsong tone of celestial, her pale skin would begin to grow in warmth of colour. The elf would reach an arm up and snap, sending a wave of radiant light out from her body.
(Sorry for the unclear description - the attackers look like dried up corpses. So dry, that when they move, it looks and sounds as if the sand pouring from their bodies)
OOC: So we weren't really far off on the undead stuff.
Bernard cringed a little bit at the noise. It wasn't loud, just one of those sounds that gets under your nerves. Figuring the only way to stop it was to stop them. Drawing two darts he took and then whipped them out.

Hearing that Ramious would like the bear, he would wait a few moments for him to begin looking and then start his scouting as well.

As usual Leon is bringing up the rear. He waits for the others to examine the way ahead and follows after, guarding their rear.

Bernard's readiness payed up - the moment fey-hand touched whatever was inside, the beak snapped shut instantly, trapping little "bugs" inside.

"Want me to pry it open?" Leon asks the others, pullingout his crowbar. "Or do you want to leave whatever it is there?"

Ramious offers to give Leon a hand prying open the mouth with a crowbar.

Is the sand separate from the corpuses walking about or did the sand fall and turn into them. My brain seems to be interpreting it weirdly.

Yeah --> I'm having "Mummy" visions..... I had the same question, but I think the sand was separate.
