With the casting of the spell, the ruffians all come to their feet and draw. The leader who started it all grabs one of his comrades and says something even Tomora can't make out, and the latter goes inside. The other four come out onto the street. "You picked the wrong street, puppies," he taunts.
"Try to take one alive," says Sildar. His kindhearted demeanor has hardened with anger. "They be what has happened to Iarno. They'd better pray it's not so."
(OOC: One thug has gone inside, and four men have just come off the porch; the five characters (including Sildar, remember) are in the street approximately thirty feet away. From what we've seen, Serwa and Tomora were in front, but now Xianon and Sildar have moved up beside them. Aster remains in the rear.
Ruffians' initiative: 16
Party intiative: 5
The four gang members charge. Their focus seems to be on the two armored fighters, Serwa and Sildar; Xianon they've dismissed as harmless, and Tomora unsettles them.
Thug A - Niklos - swings twice at Serwa: Attack: 19 Damage: 6, Attack: 8 Damage: 7
Thug B also targets the paladin: Attack: 4 Damage: 3, Attack: 23 Damage: 8
Thug C has confronted Sildar: Attack: 10 Damage: 4, Attack: 14 Damage: 7
Thug D hesitatingly takes on Tomora: Attack: 20 Damage: 6, Attack: 10 Damage: 8
Serwa is braced to take an OA on the first enemy who enters her threatened reach with Polearm Master.
Thug A (Niklos) would be the first to enter your reach. Since an opportunity attack interrupts movement, his movement is stopped before he can reach you with his weapon. Disregard his attack rolls.

Without a feat an opportunity attack does interrupt movement, but does not stop it - unless it happens to kill the enemy before it can complete the movement of course. Sentinel feat changes that as do certain class features. Serwa’s OA is just damage presently.

Tomora (using Wolf stat block) dances away from the thug's blade snarling.
Being next to Serwa, she makes use of her pack tactics and lunges for one of the thugs adjacent to Serwa (DM can decide which thug is most appropriate) trying to drive him to the ground. Attack: 13 Damage: 8. On hit DC 11 Strength save or knocked prone.
"Here at the sleeping giant, its all inclusive." Is what aster said to xianons question. I guess you are right He says to his second statement.
As the tension rised, aster would have cast Endurance on himself.
Now that combat has begun, he casts Adversity on the thug closest to Tomora. He has to succeed on a dc13 Con save or take 4 extra damage type of the next attack that hits him within 1 minute.
Niklos leads the charge. As he steps into range, Serwa lashes out with her halberd, dealing a blow to the chest that staggers the thug. His comrade slips into the paladin's range, swinging wildly and missing wildly. Niklos steps back in and manages to hit Serwa in her left arm before being brought low by another swing of her polearm.
Lithe and lean and looking hungry, the wolf that is Tomora slips under the awkward attacks of her unskilled opponent. She sinks her teeth into his thigh and tastes blood. With a twist, Serwa brings the butt of her halberd into the man's face and he crumples to the ground.
Thug C's save: 7
Sildar easily deflects the blows aimed at him by D. With easy grace, he brings a pair of blows to the ruffian's midsection: Attack: 17 Damage: 2, Attack: 20 Damage: 8
As Serwa, Tomora, and Sildar hold the line, the overlooked Xianon nimbly circles behind the attack. Seeing the first two felled, he attacks Thug C: Attack: 21 Damage: 5, Attack: 6 Damage: 4
The elf lands a vicious blow to Thug C's kidney. Surprised at how effective his first blow was (+4, damage, thanks to Aster), Xianon mistimes his second blow.
Thug C, enraged at being outmaneuvered, swings again at Tomora: Attack: 15 Damage: 4, Attack: 4 Damage: 3
Sildar's opponent likewise presses on, more wary this time of Sildar's skill: Attack: 18 Damage: 3, Attack: 18 Damage: 4. Both swings connect, and the soldier - still not recovered from his imprisonment - is in pain.
Thugs C and D still hold the line as reinforcements appear out of the Sleeping Giant. The one who darted inside emerges with 1 companion in tow.

Tomora whines in pain as the blade cuts her (Wolf HP: 7). With a growling bark she tries to bring the man down. Attack (Thug C): 13 Damage: 7. DC11 strength save or prone. (For knock out not kill if possible)
(I rolled with advantage for pact tactics assuming thug C is within 5' of an ally. If i'm wrong feel free to correct. Awesome round summary, btw!)
Thug C, enraged at being outmaneuvered, swings again at Tomora: Attack: 15 Damage: 4, Attack: 4 Damage: 3

Serwa moves to where she can attack Thug C from reach. If Thug C is dropped she will move on to Thud D, then E, F, G, and so on. After completing her attacks she will step back, so any thug closing will have to enter her threatened reach and provoke an attack of opportunity from Polearm Master.

Thug C dex save (Tomora): 21
Thug C dex save (Aster): 21
Thug D dex save (Aster): 5
Thug C takes Tomora's pounce on the chest. He manages to turn just enough that the wolf's weight deflects to the side; he stays on his feet, but blood seeps through jagged tears in his leather armor where Tomora's teeth hit true. He reels forward slightly, and as he does, flames erupt behind him. He turns slightly as his comrade wails in pain. It's just enough of a distraction that he never sees the butt of Serwa's halberd. It takes him just above the ear, shattering his skull. He drops like a ragdoll.
Flames reflect on steel as Sildar Hallwinter's longsword arcs down at the burning man: Attack: 22 Damage: 5 The blade digs deep into the back of the villain's neck. The soldier staggers slightly as he yanks out his sword; his energy is spent.
Seeing that his companions have these two well in hand, Xianon turns and flies at the rearguard. Closing swiftly, he begins with a flying front kick at the one who had been on the porch. Attack: 19 Damage: 4, Attack: 16 Damage: 4 The thug manages to duck the kick, but ends up with an elbow to the face as Xianon's follow-through connects.
(Xianon uses a ki point to dodge as a bonus action.)
Blood flowing freely from his broken nose, the already ugly fighter swings at the monk, who moves with unnatural speed to avoid his strikes:
Attack: 10 Damage: 6, Attack: 10 Damage: 6
His companion has no idea what's going on save that his friends are under attack. He draws and presses the attack against this diminutive foe: Attack: 12 Damage: 6, Attack: 9 Damage: 4
Sildar is in no shape to press the attack. Now out of immediate danger, he takes a knee and leans against his sword, breathing hard. The rest of the party is now free to address the final foes.
The elf is in the midst of the fray already, so is in the best position to attack first. He laughs as he dances around the attackers' blades, and finally is in position to strike. He aims a swift kick to the lead thug's groin: Attack: 22 Damage: 5
The monk continues with a fist to the thug's already ruined nose: Attack: 17 Damage: 7
The last ruffian watches his companion fall, and sees four more red-cloaked figures in the dirt at the feet of a group of doughty fighters. He has no idea how this started and certainly doesn't want to see how it ends. Dropping his sword, he turns and runs. He chases his shadow down the road, past the Sleeping Giant - the last building on the street - and disappears around a bend.
The road continues up the hill. At the top of the hill a manor house sits decaying among patches of weeds and overgrown shrubs. The last light of the setting sun colors the timbers of the house in reds and oranges and purples, giving a small glimmer of beauty to its forlorn appearance.
Serwa continue with her prior tactics, striking out at Thug D, and then any others if they are within move and reach of her polearm, striking from the reach of the weapon and then stepping back tactically to force them to close, and suffer another attack if they do so as a reaction.
