Polkovnik falls. You are now alone in the pen. The glowing lantern lies unattended on the ground.

Jirel would hook the lantern with the hilt of her axe, lifting it from the ground. “Soul obtained.” She’d say simply, panning over the rest of the group. 

You take the soul back to the creature. "Tonight, we weel unite the soul and the body and breeng Veektor back." Night falls and it performs a ritual to bring Viktor back to life. He wakes up, disoriented and lethargic. "What ees thees? Am I een Purgatory?"

"Nope," Sera provides succinctly. "You're alive again."

"That ees eemposseeble. No one comes back to life. I am een Purgatory and soon enough, God weel condemn me to eternal damnation for what I hef done."

Sera shrugs. "Oh yeah? What'd you do that was so bad?"

(I'm assuming we're waiting several hours for night fall, since we took a long rest none too log. If so, and with that in mind, taking a short rest during the intervening time.)

Hearing the news regarding the ritual, Zaf allowed for a sigh of relief to escape. "In the meantime then, we should get what rest we can, no?" He suggested, assuming the day-to-night cycle wasn't weird for the world. He found a spot to sit and meditate near the others, or so had been his intentions. Prior to become to deeply entrenched in the exercise, the blessings of Desna is called for, blanketing the area nearby in twilight. Even without saying as much, the group would know resting there for a time would calm the spirit, and wrap them in an ephemeral,yet seemingly living cloak that matched a star-filled sky in color. One that in their time of need could move to protect and at least mitigate some of the harm.

There was yet more he wished to do as well. Yet such restlessness to act over time gave way to the self-treatment. Unless others had something to ask the Owl Aarakocra, he hardly stirs until night fall and the ritual was to be enacted...

He trails off there, suddenly uncertain and in need of a moment it seems to search his memory.
