The Champion nods. “Yes, I had friends who were mixed up in the whole business. Reguh, Oden, Aliez, Beatrice, and a man named Kenton might be with them. Last I knew, they were wandering around the city before we regroup. We’d just been at sea and I think we were going to see about getting Kenton’s stolen ship back to its owners... it’s all a little confusing, but Oden is probably the easiest to find, a bunch of his family just moved here after Palma Flora sunk. He’s an elf. Beatrice might stand out a bit, she’s the most muscly gnome I’ve ever seen.”
Renzir indicates "Horrible business at Flora Isle, lucky those 'Heroes of the Isle' managed to save so many people from the slaughter. Now I don't recognise the names you gave me. Do you know the name of this Oden's family? Are any of the people you mentioned established locals? If they are not locals, do you know where they are? Alternatively, are there any locals that can vouch for you? I genuinely want to get this mess sorted with minimal impact on you if what you say is true, but you will have a hard time convincing my fellow Zhelezo to search the entire island for your friends. I will let you know, if your story is not true, then you can expect severe consequences."
She is moving you towards the guardhouse at the start of the main street. Gilbrid is looking very downtrodden and you take from his expression that this might not be the first time he is being moved through the crowd in manacles, possibly not even the first time with Renzir leading him.
Renzir sends one of the other Zhelezo to fetch Bryn as she escorts The Champion to the guardhouse near the docks.
I'm going to estimate that the conversation between The Champion and Aliez and then the incident with The Champion at Hektor's Hammer means that everyone has about 45 minutes at the Prawn's Pawn and General Store before being alerted to what happened with back at the docks. So, meanwhile, back at the Prawn's Pawn:
Piotr walks behind Beatrice as they move into the shop (he trusts her as one of the heroes that saved his entire family, but she is holding Ness, and he is a doting and responsible father). When he walks into the store he sends one of the (many) security guards in the shop to fetch Bryn, saying "Sef, can you please go and grab Bryn from out the back? Tell her the Heroes of the Isle are here."
Piotr then has a conversation with Oden about sahuagin jewellery and selling HotI collectables while Oden looks through the trinkets, knick-knacks and souvenirs part of the shop. Oden then seems to find something that takes his fancy and wanders off to buy it. [Trustlife1990, deduct 6 gold and 3 silver if you didn't already or refund 7 silver if you deducted the money but didn't apply the discount.]
In this time Sef reappears looking very sheepish and says something to Piotr, who shakes his head, grins and sends Sef out the back of the shop again. He then tells Beatrice "Sorry for the delay, Bryn is negotiating with a supplier and has a note on the door that she shouldn't be disturbed. When Sef knocked at the door... well, lets just say that Bryn can be very passionate about negotiating good prices and yelled at him not to disturb her and her "valued guest". They should be done soon, as they were only negotiating the percentages for items being sold on consignment and were only a few points apart."
Let me know if anyone wants to do anything else in this time. You don't need to go into the Prawn's Pawn, though a few of you had signalled that was what you are doing. If you don't go into the Prawn's Pawn, let me know which shop you go into and/or what you do.
It is definitely enough time for anyone who wants to to look through the section of the shop that has trinkets, knick-knacks and souvenirs (make an investigation roll if you spend 30 minutes doing this). [I'm not sure if 'trash and treasure' markets are a universal thing, but that is the vibe of what is on offer - lots of second hand things as well as new (but mostly low value) items.]
About 35 minutes after you arrive at the Prawn's Pawn, Bryn comes out from the back of the shop looking very pleased with herself, followed by a somewhat dour looking half elf.
Description of Bryn and Piotr for Kenton (and anyone who needs a reminder):
Bryn is a female dwarf with vibrant ginger hair and beard with pale skin. Piotr is a male dwarf with dark brown hair and beard with a tanned complexion.Their baby, Ness is starting to grow curly auburn hair and seems to be enamoured with Beatrice.
About 35 minutes after you arrive at the Prawn's Pawn, Bryn comes out from the back of the shop looking very pleased with herself, followed by a somewhat dour looking half elf.
"Good day, Bryn! Business is going well, I see." Oden nods and smiles apologetically at the Half-Elf. "Thank you for partnering up with Mira, Kerith and Arvastan at the Drunken Sailor. They looked very happy when I visited earlier."
Bryn greats you all and in rapid-fire says, "Ah, the 'Heroes of the Isle' are back, fantastic. It looks like you are missing the 'Saviour of the Riptide', Vincent. He's out doing more heroics I assume, saving cats from trees and such? I take it that we owe you all another debt of gratitude and that you took care of the sahuagin princess?... sahugin priestess?... What was it again? Also, did the helmets help? Were there any issues with them?"
Bryn then says to Oden, "No need for thanks. I like win-win situations and my investment in them and their future definitely falls into that category. They displayed business acumen and I can see us all being happy with the arrangement. I'm considering the money I've used there as an investment, whereas a few of the folk I've helped it has definitely been charity." She clocks Halmna and says "I see you have met Hal, the landlord for the pub as well. Now he has definitely been generous with your kin, deferring all rent until they are up and running properly. He's also temporally putting up some of the other refugees you rescued in another of his buildings. You might want to buy him a drink. Just don't let him talk your ear off or take up your whole day" and she winks at Halmna after the friendly ribbing.
Oh and Bryn agrees to Piotr's proposal, so as long as the rest of you agree to signing the plaque (and someone undertakes to spend half an hour at some stage going through the tale), you have 200gp to share.
"Good thing I needed to replait my hair anyway," Beatrice says as Ness tugs on it, tickling her chin. "The diving helmets worked perfectly, thank you for them. Should we sign the plaque now, or is it something we'll come back to?"
Bryn grins and says, "anyone around now can sign it, so we can put it out for sale after the rest of the party pop by and sign it" she looks around for The Champion and Aliez and notices Kenton seems to be part of the group for the first time and raises her eyebrow at him curiously. She then continues "The faster we sell it, the sooner we can start the next collector's item set when you vanquish a demon-prince or slay a tarrasque or whatever your next mission is. 'The Heroes of the Isle' have a lot of fans around here and I hope you don't mind, but I've been adding to the buzz. After what Vincent did for my family - and the rest of you of course - I want to make sure you are celebrated whenever you are in town."
[OOC: As suggested previously, if you want to propose another name for your group, you can. If you don't do it soon though, you may forever be known as 'The Heroes of the Isle,' at least in Brokenbank.]
Bryn then sends Sef across to the bazaar telling him "grab a plank of that Lyrengorn teak we got a large shipment in for a good price and get Gulanar to cut a piece about this big [she gestures]. We'll get him to fix up the edges later and make it look fancy. Then go to my office and grab the special quill. Oh, and thanks Sef, sorry about yelling earlier."
Bryn responds "Piotr had only mentioned making the jewellery and headdress you recovered from the foes you vanquished into a collectors item. He'd suggested chucking them in a case with an autographed plaque and a scroll setting out the details of your victory, which I agree is likely to sell for a pretty-platinum if we can find the right buyer. His creativity is why we make such a good team... even if he isn't so great with the numbers... or the negotiations" and she winks at him and gives a wry smile. Piotr grins and nods in self-deprecating agreement.
Bryn continues, "If you are authorising figurines, I could look into whether they would be financially viable and work out a deal. I'd need to recuperate costs before any of you would get your cut and I don't know if there would be a big enough market for figurines for it to be wildly successful - at least until you are famous beyond BrokenBank - but I'll do the maths to find the break-even point if you want. I'd be expecting exclusive rights of course if we didgo..."
Bryn is interrupted by a Zhelezo guard who had approached mid conversation and who had been waiting patiently up to that point, who says "Sorry to interrupt Bryn, but it is important. Renzir has sent me to fetch you. We have someone in custody who says they know you. He said, and I quote “just tell Bryn that it is the man from Palma Flora who owned a collapsing tavern. She’ll definitely know what my message means because me and her speak in code.""
Bryn looks at the rest of you, says "Vincent" and starts following the Zhelezo guard back to the docks.
Kenton offers his hand to Bryn to shake. Kenton, a travelling companion and ally of the Heroes. Very pleased to meet you. Figurines, you say? Perhaps my own deeds will one day merit such an honour as my comrades have earned. You have some remarkable ideas, and I look forward to learning more in the future.
At the apparent news of Vincent's incarceration, he follows closely after Bryn.
The Zhelezo guard, a young human in their 20s, responds to Oden as they make their way to the guardhouse as quickly as possible "Yes in custody! Something about being some part of an extortion ring. Should we be looking out for a woman as well, is she also involved? Wait, how do you know him?"
Bryn shakes Kenton's hand as she rushes along and whilst puffing and wheezing responds "Well met Kenton. [wheeze] I am Bryn, also an ally of the Heroes. [wheeze] When did you become a travelling companion of the Heroes? [wheeze] Also, I can't take credit for the figurine idea, it was suggested by Beatrice [wheeze]. I think it will be right up Piotr's alley, but I need to see if [wheeze] the figures make sense before going ahead [wheeze]."
Beatrice hands a disappointed looking Ness back to her father and races after Oden and Bryn.
[I'm going to assume the rest of the party will be heading to the guardhouse at the docks, unless someone tells me otherwise].
The Champion nods. “Yes, I had friends who were mixed up in the whole business. Reguh, Oden, Aliez, Beatrice, and a man named Kenton might be with them. “A pair of dwarves, Osian and Bryn. They’d vouch for me.”

Seeing the group of guards leading my friend away, Aliez follows the guards at a distance (Stealth 11)
Renzir raises her eyebrow and asks "You know Bryn? Well that might change things. Who should we say to her that we have in custody?"
Perception for seeing Aliez: 8. None of the Zhelezo notice Aliez following through the crowd.
“just tell her the man from when the tavern was collapsing at Palma Flora. She’ll know what it means.”

Ness grabs for Beatrice's hair (obviously) with hands that have just been in Ness's mouth.

"Collectors item?" Beatrice says interestedly. "What would they look like? I'm always a fan of tiny figurines."

Beatrice will carefully hand Ness back to Piotr, before following Oden and Bryn.
