"That's one hell of an introduction to the Coast, I must say," Beatrice says, leaning forwards. Her tankard is about the same size as her head, but she manages it with a great deal of experience. "I grew up here, though I've been more of a wanderer for the past eight or so years. I wish I could tell you this sort of weirdness is rare, but I think it's just part of the material of this part of the world."
A look of sadness comes over Mira's face when you mention your other sister and the day she died. She stares at the lucky stone for a few moments, before saying quietly "We all did things we are not proud of after Yrashiae died. I think the way Ervalin and I blamed you for her death is wrong. As Arvastan has repeated when we have spoken of the day, she was very strong willed and she insisted you take her on the shark hunt, you did not make her go. If you hadn't taken her, she would have convinced Joao to take her. She knew the way he felt about her and would have used that to her advantage. I still don't like that you were involved in the shark hunts or that she died, but I know deep down it was not your fault. I guess what I am saying is that you are forgiven and I ask you to forgive my behaviour in return."
"I will take that though" and she takes Yrashiae's lucky stone from you and puts it around her own neck "and I expect you to find Ervalin and make sure he is ok. Honestly I am getting a bit worried that he hasn't arrived yet if he was just searching for us at Bisaft Isle."
"Thank you. I needed that. And I forgive you, although I never felt you've wronged me in this. As for Ervalin...", he smiles reassuringly, "... I'm sure he's fine, Elanza and Joao went with him. If word spread about Sahuagin attacks, they might have difficulty finding passage, but I trust I'll know more tomorrow."
Oden finishes his current job in silence, then walks back to the booth.
[Anyone who is drinking, please remove 3 cp per tankard of ale/2 sp per pitcher of wine/8 cp per pitcher of honey sweetened tisane (non-alcoholic). Part way through the evening Dillyu enters the Drunken Sailor and his eyes light up when he sees the group (or some of them) drinking. He gestures that he will join you and grabs two tankards of ale, one of which he manages to almost finish before he leaves the bar area. As he gets to the table he asks "have you lot been here all day? It was lovely and peaceful at the docks, which was needed after all the excitement of the last few days, but I have been feeling like a drink or three and would have joined sooner if I'd known."

“Ha! Well, I like how you seem to take it all in stride. And act as a good person all the same in spite of it. Not an easy thing.”
The Champion will buy everyone who’s drinking a round of ale (including Dalyu), and one of everything for himself for dinner.
Beatrice will order a chunk of gamey grilled meat and a bonfire baked flatbread, nudging The Champion companionably as thanks when he passes her the ale. "I do try, you know. I have what could charitably be described as a... tenuous grip on my temper, so hearing that people still think I'm a good person despite that is always reassuring."
“A temper isn’t inherently good or evil. It’s passion. Nothing is greater than a passion for good, and nothing more wicked than a cold and comprehending logic choosing evil. Your passion should be admired, Beatrice.”
Oden gets himself a tankard of ale, some cheese, a chunk of meat, and a pitcher of wine to share. He's content to listen, his heart lighter, his eyes smiling.
When Dillyu arrives he'll answer: "No, we've run some errands first. This is only my second tankard."- he lifts it - "Welcome!"
Dillyu's grin widens as The Champion buys him a third drink and he seems to take it as a challenge, finishing of his first and attempting to skol/scull his second ale. Con check: 20.
He easily finishes the second tankard and raises the third and (a little too loudly) says "Cheers to the great Heroes of the Isle."
He adds (slightly less boisterously) "I should let you know that Dajarkal has been arguing via animals with that Larth fella about getting back to Port Damali immediately. Apparently he had someone send a sea-bird that she received earlier today saying that we needed to return with the ship without any stops. She sent a message back saying that you... we? Am I a member of the Heroes of the Isle now? Sorry... she sent one back saying we had earned a night of rest and recovery. I think we should tell her where we are and ask her to come for a drink too. She did seem worried about getting in trouble when she told me about the message she had sent Larth and I think she has stuck her neck out for us. Maybe Beorth as well? I know he like a drink too."

"You are right. I'll finish this food, then I'll go fetch them."
Once he's done, Oden goes to the ship to ask the men if they wanted to go for drinks to the Drunken Sailor. On the way there, he'll pay attention to those around him, wondering how far the word about the Heroes of the Isle has travelled, and realising that there could be those who would grudge them this fame.
With that perception roll he does notice a handful of people seem to recognise him, but they all look impressed or in awe. It seems that Bryn spreading word of your deeds is getting around. Because it is word of mouth without visual cues (for now), people won’t necessarily recognise you as one of HotI, even if they have heard of you.
When Beorth walks in, buys a tankard and soon as he sits down pulls out a pack of cards and he and Dillyu start playing a game/gambling.
Dajarkal takes longer at the bar and when she gets to the table she has a tankard of ale a pitcher of wine and a pitcher of tisane. She smiles her too-much-gums grin and explains "I got flustered because the really cute man behind the bar smiled at me... I said one of each drink... I don’t really drink that often, so I didn’t know which was best either." She then proceeds to take sips of each drink, so she is consuming some of each until they are gone (rather than finishing one after the other).
Beorth asks "Have you ever played Stillben Six Card Draw? [You haven't and Beorth reads your expression, grins and continues] Good!Don't worry, it is easy to pick up. Initial buy in is 3 copper, there are three rounds and you can raise up to a gold per round."
He explains: Long version:
The pack of cards has 7 suits of 12 cards (just numbered 1 through 12) and for this game the suits are ignored.
You draw three cards (roll three d12s - put it in a spoiler) and then for three rounds one more card is dealt (a d12 is rolled). At each round you can check, raise, call or fold. You can attempt to figure out whether another person is bluffing about having a good hand once per game by rolling perception vs their deception - but you need to write out what you will do if you believe the potential bluff (if they are bluffing/I fail the check I will raise 1 gp).
To score: Single cards have a value of 0. If you have multiple of the same number you multiply those cards together (so having two 12s is 144, having five 4s is 1024) and then add up the total (so if you had two 12s and five 4s and the rest single cards the total would be 1168). Beorth explains that someone will tally these at the end, and "it is mostly about gut feeling and being able to read other players, not trying to add up what you will have".
Dillyu chuckles and says "...and that is why Beorth often loses. Are you sure you don't want to just play dice? Much simpler, much more fast pace."
Beorth winks and says "NEVER - and I mean never - play dice with Dillyu. I swear he can control the dice with his mind."
Short version:
Roll three d12s and then another d12 per round and try and get the most of the same number.
They play a round to show you: Ante: 3 cp each (6 cp)
Initial cards:Beorth:
414
Dillyu:
2810
Beorth raises 3 cp, Dillyu calls (12 cp total)
First round and second round (accidentally rolled twice):
44
First round Beorth checks, Dillyu raises to 2 cp, Beorth raises to 4 cp, Dillyu calls (20 cp total).
Second round Beorth raises 1 sp. Dillyu attempts to see if Beorth if bluffing: perception 7 vs Beorth deception 9. He raises to 2 sp if Beorth is bluffing or he fails the check. Beorth raises to 1 gp and Dillyu folds.
He also offers a simpler card game of Goblins are Wilds which has a buy in of 1 sp (it will just be roll a d20 and highest number wins, because I realise that the above game might be a pain).

"The more the merrier!" Beatrice cheers. "Plus that way we'll all be together when we need to head off, so nobody gets lost on the way."
Kenton raises his tankard to join the toast, but keeps silent, listening to the others and trying to learn a little more about them.

Oden fetches Dajarkal and Beorth without issue.
