The arrow hits and pierces the neck of L2, and it looks fairly hurt already (nice shot Oden). It and the other two creatures dragging the raft manage to drag the raft to the side of the Wavechaser.
L1 uses its action to climb up the side of the ship and is now at (x5, y6 - map coming). L2 and L3 disappear under the water.
K1 climbs up the side of the ship, moves to (x7, y5) and yells out something in draconic, then stabs at Oden with a dagger made of a sharpened shell: Attack: 19 Damage: 3
Anyone who speaks draconic can read the following:
"Kill the water elves, then we move away with the raft."
K2 moves to (x6, y5) and also stabs at Oden (advantage from Pack Tactics): Attack: 24 Damage: 8
K3 flings a projectile at Dillyu from a sling that appears to be made of seaweed: Attack: 19 Damage: 6
Anyone that wants to can make a nature check, to see if they recognise these ghoulish and reptilian creatures.
Dajarkal, Beatrice, Dillyu, Beorth and Kenton are up. The NPCs will go last and unless someone yells for them to do something, Dajarkal and Beorth will just make basic attacks.
Kenton's spear hits (with either roll*) and he takes the creature down with one blow. These creatures do not seem like they are as hardy as the ghoulish looking creatures. As it is the first kill of the fight: How do you want to do this?
[* I haven't been using the optional flanking advantage rule so far, but am happy to if 50%+ of the party want to. It is a double edged sword and can mean that any battle against lots of melee foes is much more likely to end in a TPK. It also means that battles against a single powerful foe are easier. Everyone let me know in the group chat if you do want to use the rule, because I am genuinely happy either way.]
A clean, mighty stab through the head, piercing the creature's brain and ending its life painlessly; an appropriately merciful killing for a paladin, in Kenton's head. He withdraws his spear and gives a little shake, attempt to remove as much blood as he can, before he stows it.
OOC: Happy with DM's decision and the group's, though I would vote for flanking myself. I guess I was hoping to have it for this battle because I saw the creatures (kobolds?) have pack tactics - that's pretty scary too at this level! :)
Beatrice will heft her axe off her back, her vision going red at the edges as she flies into a rage, attacking the creature right in front of her (x7,y5) with a scream.
[ooc: I don't know too much about flanking outside of the vague understanding of rogue mechanics, but considering our party seems to be very melee focused now it sounds like it'd be a good idea]
Dajarkal casts infestation at creature L1 - CON14 save or 1d6 poison damage and it will need to move 5ft in a random direction. It is immune to poison, so the spell has no effect (but she will not use it again on those creatures).
Beorth tries to keep the ship heading in the right direction and spends his turn tying of the wheel, so he can fight in subsequent turns.
Dillyu pulls out his shortsword and dagger, moves to (x5, y7) and makes an attack with each hand against creature L1 (sneak attack if either hits for 9 because Oden is within 5 ft): shortsword Attack: 9 Damage: 6, dagger Attack: 21 Damage: 3. The dagger hits and so Dillyu deals 12 total damage to L1.
K4 looks concerned that two of its allies has fallen, so flings a projectile at Oden before moving further back on the boat. Sling Attack: 22 Damage: 3. I believe this is a hit.
K5 does the same, aiming for Oden: Sling Attack: 14 Damage: 6. A miss.
K6 does the same, but aiming at Dillyu: Sling Attack: 7 Damage: 4. A miss.
K7 does the same, but aiming at Dillyu: Sling Attack: 15 Damage: 4. A miss.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
L4 and L5 manage to climb the side of the ship without detection until they are just behind Kenton (x9, y4) and (x9, y5) and they both make claw attacks against him.
L4 attack on Kenton: Attack: 9 Damage: 10. A miss.
L5 attack on Kenton: Attack: 8 Damage: 6. Kenton, please make a DC10 CON save.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The Champion glances at all the blows heading Oden’s way and narrows his eyes at the creepy lizards. He draws his warpick, whispering a healing word causing Oden’s wounds to restore somewhat. 4 Healing to Oden. He then jumps down to the raft, and charges the lizards (going to x4,y3) and swings left and right with the warpick and a cry of “Face the Queen’s justice!” For Raven’s Blade (synergy with Reaper)
Attack: 13 Damage: 8 + 8 Necrotic to K6
Attack: 14 Damage: 9 + 3 Necrotic to K4
(and the kills add temp hp... enter Death Knight lol)
Oden's blade strikes true and L1 is looking very hurt.
L1 makes a claw attack on Oden: Attack: 12 Damage: 7. Miss.
L2 clambers up the side of the ship and makes a claw attack on Beatrice: Attack: 15 Damage: 9. Please make a DC10 CON save.
L3 clambers up the side of the ship and makes a claw attack on Beorth: Attack: 22 Damage: 9. If it hits he will make a DC10 CON save.
K3 scrambles over to the other two creatures left alive on the raft and makes a sling attack on The Champion: Attack: 13 Damage: 4. Miss.
Beorth's CON save: 20
Beatrice and Kenton, let me know if you made your DC10 CON saves, if so you are up next.
If you failed the save:
Your muscles seize up and you are unable to move. You are paralyzed for 1 minute or until you pass a DC10 CON saving throw, which you can make at the end of each of your turns.
Beatrice fells L2, some would say it was with her axe, others would say it was just with her fury. L2 is dead.
Kenton's slices through the L5's somewhat rubbery skin, exposing what appears to be water logged and rotting muscle underneath and the creature lets out a shriek that chills you all to the bone, but it remains standing. L5 is looking quite hurt. [Assuming L5 rather than K5 which is on the raft.]
Again, anybody can make a nature check to see what these creatures are, but you don't have to. Same for giving commands to crew.
Dajarkal will try casting infestation on K3, CON14 save or 5 poison damage and it moves 5 ft in a random direction. K3 save: 15. No effect.
Beorth only has a pistol and a musket (both ranged obviously), so his attack is at disadvantage. He makes an attack with his Musket at L3 who is attacking him: Attack: 10 Damage: 8 and then drops it (it is 1 shot then reload). Even though he is a master of firearms, this ghoulish creature being right next to him means he fumbles and misses.
Dillyu will make attacks again against creature L1 (sneak attack if either hits for 7 because Oden is within 5 ft): shortsword Attack: 10 Damage: 7, dagger Attack: 23 Damage: 2. He takes down L1 with his second hit, L1 is dead.

Spear in hand, Kenton seems to relish the return to glorious combat, though he winces as he sees his comrades take damage.
What fiends are these?, he calls out, and what language is that?
He ducks round to (x8, y4) and stabs his spear at the creature in (x7. y5) that has attacked Oden - this is with assumed flanking advantage:
Attack: 25 Damage: 7
Pleased with the outcome, he puts his bloodied spear over his back and prepares to draw his more familiar sword.
Kenton's spear hits (with either roll*) and he takes the creature down with one blow. These creatures do not seem like they are as hardy as the ghoulish looking creatures. As it is the first kill of the fight: How do you want to do this?

Attack: 16
Damage: 12

[I re-aimed Beatrice's attack to K2 (x6, y5), as K1 (x7, y5) is dead.]
Beatrice slices through the creature, cleaving through it and cutting it in two. K2 is very dead!
woo!

L4 and L5 rolls:
16 and 17
L4 and L5 manage to climb the side of the ship without detection until they are just behind Kenton (x9, y4) and (x9, y5) and they both make claw attacks against him.
L4 attack on Kenton: Attack: 9 Damage: 10. A miss.
L5 attack on Kenton: Attack: 8 Damage: 6. Kenton, please make a DC10 CON save.
The Champion and Oden are up.
Updated battle map:
The Champion glances at all the blows heading Oden’s way and narrows his eyes at the creepy lizards. He draws his warpick, whispering a healing word causing Oden’s wounds to restore somewhat. 4 Healing to Oden. Attack: 14 Damage: 9 + 3 Necrotic to K4
(and the kills add temp hp... enter Death Knight lol)
Paladin - warforged - orange
And with that K6 and K4 are dead.
Oden turns to focus on L1 and drops his bow to slash with Nénmacil.
BA: Hunter's Mark
Attack: 14 Damage: 8 + 2
He starts to equip his shield.
Con save: 16
Beatrice will swing her axe in a circle around herself, slamming it into L2 with another scream.
Attack: 15
Damage: 12
Kenton CON save 21
Kenton whirls round with a roar, draws his long sword and slices towards K5:
Attack: 18 Damage: 13
He will shout Hah! loudly if he kills it, and less loudly if he only wounds it.

Dillyu will make attacks again against creature L1 (sneak attack if either hits for 7 because Oden is within 5 ft): shortsword Attack: 10 Damage: 7, dagger Attack: 23 Damage: 2. He takes down L1 with his second hit, L1 is dead.
K5 squeezes through its allies and moves to (x3, y3) and attacks The Champion with its shell dagger: Attack: 23 Damage: 3. Miss.
K7 moves to (x3, y2) and makes its attack against The Champion with advantage due to pack tactics (creature ability): Attack: 21 Damage: 3. Hit
L4 slashes at Kenton again with its claws: Attack: 14 Damage: 9. If it hits, please make a DC10 CON save. Miss.
L5 moves to (x7, y5) and slashes at Beatrice: Attack: 8 Damage: 6. If it hits, please make a DC10 CON save. Hit.
The Champion and Oden are up.
The Champion swings the Raven’s Blade through his warhammer at K5 and K7
Attack: 18 Damage: 5 7 necrotic
Attack: 10 Damage: 8 8 necrotic
and a nature check to see what all these goobers are 3
