Mirica hesitated just a moment but long enough for dragonborns to outpace her into the room. But she followed close behind or was going to, when Chen suddenly stopped.
The view from the stairs was enough, though, to distract even someone blind to the art. Mirica was not (the trip so far was fascinating in this regard) but right now one thought bothered her and she said out loud: "So, the man made his lair in the place dedicated to the victory over him? That's.... disturbing."
Sebastion staggers back into the hallway, helped by Chen who pulls him back. Mirica and the others are forced to shuffle back a bit. Jahren steps forward, glancing into the room, the shimmer of magic hazing over his eyes briefly.
All three statues in the room radiate magic. The first Necromancy, the second Evocation, and the third Transmutation.
Toc speaks up, in reply to Mirica, "Indeed. This was meant to be a tomb to seal him up, and it seems he's made it his lair. These magical traps are likely laid by the elves who created the tomb, to keep out would be robbers, or worse. I should have expected something like this, apologies for no warning....though...how he's clearly figured a way around them."

Jahren winks at Toc and rubs his hands together playfully, getting ready for his attempt. The half-elf gets more focused a moment later, however. He sits close to the opening to the room and closes his eyes to focus. First, he casts a spell on himself to help focus his mind and his magic. (Enhance Ability) He then takes his time trying his first Dispel Magic on the 2nd statue.
"If we cannot dispel the magic, we could always put a Wall of Force in front of the statues to block whatever they emit..." Fianna suggests as an alternative. "Could also get a few of us past them with a Dimension Door and that is assuming we are opposed to just using more destructive means against the statues..."
Jahren watches as the magic fades after he casts his dispelling magic. Then, he watches as the 3rd statue's magic fades as Mirica casts her spell.
Glancing around the room, he sees no other magical fields.
Tentatively, Sebastion enters the room. No magic assails him, and he takes a few more steps until he's fully in the room with no untoward affects. The rest of the group follows, the place now seemingly safe to explore. The statues, now that they're not trying to kill you, are rather exquisite, the white marble beautiful. The one in the end must have a small fortune worth of silver inlaid across it, and the sapphire in its chest looks to be worth a couple thousand gold. The stone doors to the left seem to be locked, in the same mysterious manner as the previous ones. Reminder, this room is dark, the only light here is the thin daylight come from down the stairs outside the room. The corners on the same side as the entrance are black shadows of inky darkness for both of the Dragonborn.
Toc glances at the group and in a loud whisper says, "All of out passwall. And I can't even do knock anymore. I've got disintegrate, or gaseous form, or blind teleport left as my options....or....I'm sure Chen and his hammer have a solution."

Jahren gives Mirica a big grin as both of their spells succeed, along with Tog's previous effort. The bard slowly moves into the room inspecting everything he can closely. He studies the relief depicting the crying statue and then the statue itself to ensure they are the same.
Jahren then studies the next door to see if there is any magic involved in keeping it locked.
There is no magic keeping the door closed and locked. But, neither is there a keyhole or any sort of locking mechanism. It seems simply....like a stone door that has been sealed in some way.

Fianna lights a hooded lantern and carries it so all in the party can see. "Can't promise I won't end up chucking it at something that jumps out at us though," she says with a grin. She generally carries it low, too lazy to hold it aloft above everyone's head, so it casts some odd shadows trying to get around everyone's legs and all, but it's still better than blindness. Plus, she figures, less likely to shatter or break if she drops it quickly to cast a spell...
"Dawncrusher would join if needed, but it feels wrong to destroy anything in here - even a door. Even now." The beauty of the place - no matter the purpose - was so elegant, nobody seemed to even try to estimate it's worth in money. Still, something had to be done about the obstacle. She joined Jahren with his studies of the door.
"May be blind teleport is not such a bad idea after all - the door probably needs to be slid aside and something is blocking it there."
"Well I could get to the other side of the door, and not exactly blindly," Fianna teases. "But I'm a bit reluctant to do so unless sure I could open the door for the rest of you once I do. Further, are we sure we want to expend all our precious energies on getting through a door? As beautiful and valuable as it may be, it it worth possibly going into a battle with Aldlas mystically depleted?"
Turning to Chen and Sebastian she continues, "I surely value your physical strength at least as much as my mystical skills. Even more so since I am so easily drained and need rest to replenish where as your strength seems much more inexhaustible..."

Jahren quickly casts Detect Magic to get a better sense of this place and the dangers within.
Chen is alarmed at the sight, and instinctively grips his weapon and searches for the source of the danger.

If Chen detects nothing that he can hit, he will instead enter the room and attempt to grab Sebastian and drag him back into the tunnel.

"Is there another way in? We could try to dispel the aura on each statue, but I imagine it is very powerful magic."
Toc shakes his head, "No, there's no other way in."
He then steps forward close enough to see, and holds out a hand, mumbling some arcane words. 18
Jahren watches as the magic glittering around the first statue, the weeping one, slowly fades away.
Toc mutters to himself and does the same once more, this time at the 2nd statue. 8. This time the magic wavers slightly, but then continues to glow.
Toc shrugs, "Sorry, that's actually all of that I can do at the moment. I don't typically prepare that. Can anyone else dispel magic?"
