With a last glance to make sure her book burning is still crackling and spreading, Fianna turns to the stairs and runs towards the sounds of combat. ((Movement plus Dash should get her the 60’ at the end of her turn))

"To make", right... There was no time for questions now, but Toc could consider himself immortal now, at least until Mirica will hear her answers.

Invisible or not, but the holy light of Lathander was with her. All she needed is a good line of sight.

Three of the demons get blasted, the big one and one insect getting mostly out of the way, while one takes the full blast in the face.  Though blinded, the creature still seems to have an excellent sense of its surroundings. 

Dash for Chen, 60' up the stairs with 20' to spare to get up in the face of as many demons as possible. 

Chen rushes up the stairs, barreling past Jahren and invisible Mirica and next to Toc into the midst of the demons. Fianna is just behind him reaching the top of the stairs and seeing the battle. Sebastion is just behind her, reaching the top of the stairs. 

The sky is dark overhead and the deluge continues, the ground muddy with pooling water and rivulets everywhere as the group is almost instantly soaked in the pouring rain. Large drops splatter on cheeks and shoulders. 

A couple of the demons, frustrated by the blurry dodging elf seem to jump at the opportunity to lay into something solid. Chen. 

The large one though simply takes a slash at Toc and then vanishes once more, growling and feeling beaten on. 

Large demon:

From the stairway smoke slowly tumbled out into the rain. 

Everyone’s action. 

     Fianna skitters to a stop at the top of the stairs and takes a moment to take in the scene.  It was already turning to chaos.  Damnit all, how did they ALL get up here past us??  It was exasperating!  She took the briefest of moments and gathered in her will...  She adjusted her position just a bit... pointed her staff and called out "ithe tintreach!" and released the energies through the staff!  In that moment a flash of lightning struck out travelled out of the tip of her staff towards the large demon and any of the insects she could angle into the path as well.

     ((Fianna does her best to keep all party members out of the path of the bolt, but she definitely aims it at the large demon.  If she can get some insects in as well, then yay!

     A stroke of lightning forming a line 100 feet long and 5 feet wide blasts out from you in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 29 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.))

(oops, Fianna, I think you missed that the big demon took a swipe at Toc and then teleported away again....the sneaky little/big jerk....) But you can hit some bugs!

Three of the bug demons leap out of the way as a blast of lightning tears out of the end of Fianna's staff with a thunderous boom, a blinding flash of blue'ish light filling the air with the smell of ozone. 17 10 19 3 2  4 

Two of them dodge mostly out of the way, the lightning crackling off the outsides of their shells barely hurting them, while one that looks on it's last legs takes the brunt of the blast and drops, a smoking pile of chitinous shell on the ground. 

Sebastion, his silver scales glittering in the rain, rushes into the combat, takes two strikes at one of the bugs 1....the first blow smashes off the shell, deflected by the things quick movements, but his second blow cracks a bunch of shell open, some green ichor splattering out of the wound. 

Mirica, Chen and Jahren are up. 

Didn't we just leave this party? thinks Chen, frustrated at these creatures that won't die and won't stay put. For now he is back in control of his temper, but still determined to swat these bugs once and for all.

Reckless Attack (no Rage) against the most injured, or the closest

Chen leaps forward, his axe swinging in a blur. A chop takes off one of the insects four arms, but then the swing around comes down on the things chest and the shell caves in, the creature crumpling to the ground, twitching slightly in its death. 

Mirica, Jahren, 2 bugs remaining here. The big guy vanished. 

     ((I did indeed, curse me for skimming battle numbers when my name doesn't show up!  Shame on me!  She'll save the heavy hitting spell for when it returns...))

     Unable to get her Lightning Bolt off before the large demon simply disappeared, Fianna changes tactics at the last possible moment and casts Eldritch Blast instead, targeting all three beams of energy at one of the bugs attacking Chen.

Holy light was still in her hands and at least some children of darkness in front of her - why stop? Using her invisibility she circled around to find a good position for the strike both "bugs" while not hitting the warriors:

Jahren targets the weakest demon near Chen and whispers a thread of magic that worms it’s way into the creatures mind and hopefully sends it fleeing, giving Chen a clean shot at it while its guard is down.

 The two bugs seem very resilient to magic, as the sunbeam slams into both, only partially damaging their shells.  One of the creatures though suddenly seems to clack in panic and turns and flees (Chen, Sebastion, you may both take an AoO).  Toc takes a swing at him as he attempts to flee as well. Attack: 22 Damage: 12 his blade slicing into the things shell efficiently. 

(Take your attacks, but I assume it's toast...it has 3 hps...)   The creature falls as Sebastion's blade crashes into its back, green ichor spraying everywhere.  Sebastion smears a glob of ichor off of his silver scaled cheek.

The last bug looks around, suddenly alone and surrounded by enemies, and it vanishes with a pop. 

The rain pours down, black smoke puffs from the stairway....everyone stands about breathing heavily...hearts thudding with the exhilaration of combat that seems to be over for the moment. 

Toc walks over to the 'remains' of Tic and looks down with a wry look on his face. He sighs heavily and reaches down and begins picking the clothing and equipment up, throwing a bunch of it into his bags as the rain continues to soak everyone.

"Ok, what was it?! No, not the demons - Tic." Mirica's incorporeal voice was equally curious and irritated. "He talked, he ate (though, not sure now) he danced, for god's sake! And now he was - what? A construct?"

     "The books!" Fianna says, as if suddenly remembering them.  She turns and starts running back towards the library... She pulls her cloak up to cover her mouth, squints against the smoke and runs to rescue and and all books she can.  

((She won't be stupid about it, if it's an inferno that can't be entered, so be it...  But if it's just uncomfortable, bothersome, even *some* damage, she will indeed try to grab as many books off the shelves as she can which aren't aflame or burnt.))

"Is she always like that?" Sebastian asks
