But then again, perhaps we don't want to retcon and that is fine too... Just noticing the misunderstanding I wanted to at least acknowledge it...))
Disadvantaged Roll 19 -- Above try didn't work first attempt.
Ezhia is in mid-response to Fianna's offer of his potential choices to avoid death...and begins the phrase, "Let me propose another option..."
She reaches out, surprising everyone (thus, no chance to impose reaction / counter spell / disadvantage on the attack), and touches his shoulder, unleashing a powerful Plane Shift spell upon him...but the magic flashes and wavers, then doing nothing. Sparkles seem to fill their air around them.....
Mirica and Fianna then begin yelling at each other as Jezun's staff twirls and he says to Ezhia, "Just calm down...and don't do anything hasty.." Toc vanishes. Jahren steps forward, and begins speaking, his voice pulsing out powerful mind bending magic.....Fianna attempts a sudden counterspell, but he has his own ready, washing away her counterspell with his own counterspell, and his magic pulses at Ezhia.....but the magic...which unusually fills the air coming from Jahren's mouth with a glowing twinkle, then all forms a weird sparkling gas and, to Jahren's surprise, the magical gas gets sucked into his own mouth.
You all watch, mesmerized, as his tongue grows to three times it's length, filling his mouth and then flopping out of it, turning his words into a mumbled mess.
Ezhia, still having heard Jahren's initial complex string of words, and seeing members of the group now slinging spells at each other, begins to back away, his hands up, and says, "Look...you all have a bunch to work out it seems....maybe I'll just head my own way....."
(since he's not "running" and just backing away, I'll leave it up to Jezun if he wants to attack. Jezun, if you choose to attack him, please re-roll a 2nd die for disadvantage, as Mirica tries to defend Ezhia from your attack).
Also: Chen's turn.

Chen interested to hear about Ezhia's 'other option' when all the sudden spell-slinging began. There wasn't much time to think - Chen didn't even know if everyone was in their right mind - but he still thought that Ezhia might prove useful, and wasn't ready for him to leave either willingly or by force. So he quickly steps in and attempts to grab Ezhia to stop him from leaving...
The description for grapple says "you try to seize the target by making a grapple check instead of an attack roll", so does this make it exempt from Mirica's Protection? If not, has Mirica's reaction already been used against Fianna or Jezun? If not, is Ezhia more than five feet from Mirica? If not... here's another roll for disadvantage: 20
Ezhia, having stepped back a few steps has left Mirica's range of protection, leaving him open to Chen's attempt to grab him, without any interference. Chen's powerful arms reach out and latch onto Ezhia. The powerful strength gripping like steel. Ezhia winces and struggles briefly and then is still.
Fianna glares around at everyone, take a breathe, then shrugs.
"It seems my friendswould rather you remain with us than be returned to your pets. So be it," Fianna says, and kicks Ezhia's bracers and necklace gently forward towards him. "I need some time with FInFIn before sending him down to scout... This only takes a dozen or so minutes."
Fianna then walks a bit off into the woods for some privacy, if not forcibly stopped, and will do her rituals to transform FinFin into an imp...
Mirica watched Fianna go with now concerned and sad expression but did not follow. Instead she picked up the magic items, turned to Ezhia and coldly said: "Talk. And the thing you have to say is better be very important."
The priest did not intent to return either of the items (she would give to Jahren - a small donation to the refugee camp, it's nice to pay your debts to society) and she was prepared to listen very intently. But before Ezhia begun to speak, she attended Jahren (Greater Restoration ) risking to do it on spot.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(We're out of initiative now I believe....)
Mirica summons forth powerful healing magic...the air around her wavering as she pulls the magic forth. She places her hand on Jahren's shoulder, whose tongue shrinks back to its normal size. He takes a deep breath of relief, smacking his lips and testing out his normal sized tongue once more.
Ezhia says nothing, simply standing where he is held by Chen, while Fianna says her bit. She walks away to blow of some steam and go talk to FinFin. Jahren hears a quite voice nearby, Tocs, that says "I'll keep an eye on her..."
(Toc's Stealth vs Fianna's passive perception: 8)
Mirica turns to Ezhia. Ezhia looks to the righteous priest, looking cautious, but also fairly exhausted..."Well...look...I have some info that could still help ya. I'll take it to my grave if I need to, so threaten'in to kill me won't get you nothin. If you agree to let me get outta this place alive, and give me three days to get outta here before you decide to hunt me down, then I'll pass on the info now....and take my leave. Without your crazy Fey friend there around....I believe the rest of ya would keep yer honourable word. If ya try to charm me....it'll not go well...." He says the last part glaring at Jahren.
Mirica frowned. "Fianna is swift to judge, but she has enough reasons for both - not trusting your words and wishing you dead. So we all." She let the words sink in snake-man mind. "I believe that you played your part and with that big secret you want to share, am willing to let you go. But betray us - and that would be your last deed in this world. Do not underestimate our abilities and do not hope we just die here. Now, these are my thoughts. What others think they will tell themselves."
The priest looked at her companions: "I do think that without his master he is no more harmful or deserving death than any other goon of Hillsfar. I believe what he knows is wort more than his life, and we can afford to let him go."
Chen nods in agreement. He has no personal disagreement with Ezhia (that he knows of) so is willing to release him for the sake of information that might aid them in their pursuit of the dragons.

Jahren glares at Toc before he heads off to keep an eye on Fianna. "You may need to find a more... resolute... party if I am to help you any further on your quest."
The bard looks at Mirica and Ezhia, silently nodding in agreement to the terms, even if he doesn't like them. He mostly fears for SinSin, if Ezhia decides to sell the knowledge of his relation to the party to one of their several enemies.
Toc, who is still invisible, stops and his disembodied voice replies calmly to Jahren, "You are either here because you feel this must be done, or you are not, in which case you best save us the trouble and depart now. I am no one's keeper, and this quest stopped being mine alone quite some time ago. If you've a problem with Fianna or anyone else, figure it out, you're a grown up."
With his silent elven boots, it's difficult to tell at which point he's departed.
Nodding in accent to the others, Ezhia nods firmly, "Very well. The dragon has been contacting me...in my mind, with magic. She has been getting regular updates from me. She knows you are here, and she knows you are planning on coming down. Do not think you'll take her by surprise. If I refused to respond to her mental questions....well....I would be guaranteed a painful death in my immediate future. I had no choice. But, I'm telling you know so you don't all walk into something, thinking you've got the edge. Guaranteed death in my mind. And you all don't deserve a nasty end like that. There...the last secret....you promised a safe departure."
He puts his hands up, as he begins backing slowly away from the group, wiggling to free himself from Chen's grasp so he can flee.
Much as previously planned, Fianna goes off into the woods a bit away for some privacy. Believing herself to be alone except for her familiar, Fianna sketches out a mystic circle in the dirt. She pulls a few meaningful knickknacks out of her bags and places them at deliberate points around the circle and then kneels and begins the ritual. FinFin sits in the center of it all, waiting, too nervous to fidget. Words and arcane phases are muttered, mumbled and chanted. Parts of the ritual are undoubtedly familiar to the spying Toc, others likely strange and personalized by each caster... After about a dozen minutes it is finished and the pseudodragon is gone and in it's place, for the briefest of moments, if Toc keeping an eye on the center of the circle at the finish of the ritual, appeared the imp... Which immediately turned invisible upon it's existence.
Fianna stood, stretched, and picked up the items she had placed around the circle. She then used her feet to erase the lines and sigils which she had previously so carefully drawn. When all was done she sat with her back to a tree... "Screw it," she whispered to herself. "They can wait." She closed her eyes and meditated in a most restful manner... ((Fianna takes a short rest after the ritual is complete, if not interrupted.))
Fi'Fanella, insistent upon her full and proper name in this form looked around at her surroundings. She voices her opinion to Fianna in Infernal, not really bothered that the warlock wouldn't understand the words... She would understand the meaning via their mental bond. That done, Fi'Fanella flew off to investigate this crevice with full faith and confidence that it was an extreme waste of her time... The imp sees what she can see and then spies upon her warlock's companipons resting upon a nearby tree branch invisibly.
Once done with her rest, Fianna stands, dusts the dirt from herself, and walks back to where she left the others. During the short walk Fi'Fanella fills her in on what the scouting trip revealed.
Mirica glanced at Jahren, who usually could read people's truthfulness reliably, nodded to Ezhia and asked: "What exactly did you report to the dragon? Only our position? And can you tell where she is right now?"
Ezhia shakes his head, "Not the faintest clue. She talks in my head, I talk back, that's all I know. I told her you were comin....that you were going to scout the entrance...and who you were and that's bout it."
-----------------
Fi'Fanella flaps with the clumsy bat wings, getting used to the change...as she flapped her way across the sky of the ruins, swooping around torn threads as she went, watching below for the group, but also for those strange magical disturbances. She noticed a few creatures here or there. Some of them unnatural to the world, such as a small imp, but nothing that seems to be nearing the group, nor that is of particular interest. All things she saw while scouting previously.
She sees the group, still talking with Ezhia near the crevice but quickly swoops past them and heads down into the dark.
The imp moves down into the darkness, giving real time updates to Fianna as she goes, flying between great slabs of stone that were cracked apart by the force of impact. Wether it was the ground before, or a piece of mountain from above is hard to tell. Moving through an area of crushed stone, and then a different marbled rock, she sees a glowing below. The cave opens up into a room carved into the stone. There, frozen in a shimmering amber field, are six demons. They look perfectly preserved, the glint of evil still in their eyes which glare out of the amber with hate. Fi'Fanella catalogs them...a Glabrezu, a Nalfashnee, and four Nabasuu. Powerful demons locked in some sort of magic. Any other exits from the room are caved in, but a winding crevice continues down. Fi'Fanella sees the shimmering field that is the Mythal cease before her as she descends beneath the magic's reach. Suddenly the space around her fills with whirling blades. She tries to dodge but the blades shred her and she blinks out of existence.
