Ah yes Gond, it must be Smoke replies to Thrax. He will then walk to the governor and the others that are near. It seems the raiders are losing numbers. If we can hold out longer i think more would leave. Or it would force their hand into trying to siege the keep.
He moves back speaking to himself to make mental notes so he can tell this tale assuming he survives. ..the dragon soared around... brave soldiers trying to shoot the majestic creature.. he walks a few more steps. A brave lizardfolk.. no a divinely touched lizardfolk stood eye to eye.. yes better.
As he moves further Smoke thinks about the dragons actions and if he can remember anything of dragons acting in this way or have something of an alliance. It seemed strange for two dragons to work together but seeing Lennithon reluctant to push the offense it would seem the two dragons are not on the same page, making the situation even stranger.
Thia will head back up to the parapet now that the dragon has gone. From there she will cast an eye across the village and the raiders, looking for any sort of command figure(s). If she can see any, she will watch them and look to see what they are doing.
OOC: Looking back at the beginning of the campaign to judge the time of day, I see in Post #19 that it was almost sundown when we saw the dragon flying away from Greenest and charged forward. How long have we been in town now?
Rogram catches up to Nighthill before the governor can get too far. "When we approached Greenest this eve," the half-dwarf says, "we arrived in time to witness the dragon flying away. You now mention that this is the second time the dragon has retreated. What precipitated the dragon's leaving the first time?"
After talking to the guard, Yevele will find a spot to sit and see if she can get some sleep while waiting for the next move my the raiders and/or the dragons. As she begins to relax, the young monk's mind wanders to the whereabouts of Lao Te and his fellow monks.
OOC: It has been between 2-3 hours since your arrival in Greenest.
Thia scans the line of raiders, her eyes eventually settling on a cluster that seems to be at rapt attention to some sort of commander: A human with mid-length black hair, dressed in a large purple robe. Despite having a smaller stature, this person has some sort of heavy armor beneath the robe, and has a long halberd strung across their back.
The governor responds to Rogram, clearly frustrated by the situation, "It was much the same. The beast flew at us and tore apart a good number of my men with its breath. At the time, I thought we had driven it away, but you've seen it yourself now. I don't believe that we even scratched it. It just seemed...irritated."
Yevele begins to nod off as the fracas in the keep settles down.
If there is no immediate danger then Thia will descend back to the courtyard, go back to her spot in the shadows of the wall, and do the same as Yevele and try and rest.
Thrax looks out at the army outside the keep and assesses their numbers. He walks over to speak with Nighthill. “Have they sent any emissaries or made any demands of us? Perhaps the Dragon is meant to intimidate us into accepting their demands... but have they made any?”

Smoke will stay on the parapet, trying to gaze out past the keeps walls and find the black dragon woman. Curious about her presence and if it was a black dragon. Why not just join with Lennithon to easy take over.
If there is a black dragon woman among the gathered raiders, she is not making her presence known; Smoke spots the woman in purple robes as well, who still moves throughout the enemy forces. Nighthill rubs his temples wearily. "The only communication that we have had with them is the kobold that you brought in. They have not made any signs of parlance," he says.
"Sergeant Markguth, how many did we lose when the dragon attacked?" he asks. The guardsman replies, "Three, sir. Two were sent over the edge by its breath, and a third succumbed quickly to her injuries." Governor Nighthill exhales, "Take ten with you to rest. They seem intent on making this a long night, and I want us as sharp as possible."
He motions to the stairway as Markguth departs and says, "You should rest with your friends as well. Abilities like yours will do us no good if you are exhausted."
OOC: I'll take the silence as an indication that everyone is ready to rest and move on. I'd like to get an idea of what Smoke, Thrax, and Rogram are doing during their rest and where they're resting before advancing.
Thrax nods at the mention of a rest. “We will be stronger after a chance to restore ourselves. It does not seem like an assault on the keep is immenient. We can regroup tomorrow and see if we can’t come up with a plan.” He stared determinedly at the army laid out before them as he departs the ramparts. He bows to Lord Nighthill before leaving. “May Gonds blessings be with you sir.” He says stoically.

Smoke will stay up on the parapet for a bit. Not sure if we are taking a short or long rest. In case short he will stay up there. He will sit there watching and pondering of the dragons actions. Lost in his thoughts trying to remember whatever he can about its kind.
If its a long rest he will go down after a short while and find a cozy place to sleep. He wont be as talkative as he normally is and just get some rest.

Smoke INT: 10
Rest comes easy despite the lack of available comfort within the keep. The occasional background conversation can be heard, but by this hour, most of the townsfolk trapped inside of the structure are seeking their own sleep. The silence is almost eerie after the evening's activity; slowly, those huddling in the cellar are led back to the courtyard by Rogram.
Not even an hour passes, however, before the raiders, this Cult of the Dragon, makes their next move. Smoke sees it first from the top of the parapet with a number of guardsmen, but by the time they are able to rouse the sleepers in the courtyard, the damage has been done. A group of raiders has charged the side of the keep and forced open an entrance. The others awake from their sleep or become alert from their rest to the sounds of swords and spears clashing.
Escobert the Red, beard flapping from the pace of his run, bangs his own spear on his shield to raise the alarm. "Hop to it, breach o' the Sally Port! We got company!"
For Smoke:
Blue dragons are much more patient and methodical than much of their kin. Lennithon's behavior does not seem all that odd considering this. In fact, the raiders could not have picked a better type of dragon to assist with a siege.
As Smoke sees the raiders try to breach the side he will get up as quick as he can and look at the guards to say Some of you stay here! Watch for attacks somewhere else, this could be a diversion.
He will then start running towards the breach not looking back. As he moves he sees Escobert calling the guards. Smoke will try to reach the breach staying on top of the parapet (if it goes up to the breachspot) using feline agility to quickly make his way there. Smoke will try to see how many raiders are on that side and if they are kobolds, humans or even the green drakes that they saw patrolling earlier.
Thia blinks herself awake and jumps instantly to her feet. Checking the skies above she realizes she's only just fallen off to sleep. This place really is kicking tonight. She grabs her things and rushes to the side of the dwarven castellan. "Where do you need us?" she asks him.
Yevele springs to her feet upon hearing the noise. If she can tell which direction the sound is come from, the monk will head in the that direction, silently cursing the raiders for interrupting her sleep.
Rogram doesn't know why he's so angry. His town is under siege, sure, but what is a seething anger going to solve here within the walls of the keep? He finally busies himself by returning to the cellar to explain that the dragon has left again and that they should try to get some rest while there is quiet. After it seems most of the village is as calm as they can be, the half-dwarf sits and tries to find a little peace himself, but it is no good. He finally gets back to his feet and begins practicing with his sword. Lunge. Fade. Advance. He feels a bit of joy trying to break through the haze of anger ... but then it all starts up again. He stops mid maneuver when the shouts come from the parapet. He looks up to try to interpret the warning, but then the sally port is breached. He runs toward the chaos, ready to leap back into battle.
Escobert meets an attacker head on, ducking beneath a spear and swinging his own hammer around to bash the skull of his assailant. His guards quickly meet the charge of the raiders filing in through the narrow gap, and despite the clear severity of the situation, he wears a huge grin on his face when he sees the approach of most of the party.
"See that doorway? They're comin' in through there. My men have the courtyard, ye get in there and hold 'em off. We need to get that thing sealed!" he shouts.
The area he points to is just beneath the edge of the parapet, where Smoke can be seen peering over the edge of the wall, forty feet above the ground. Below him on ground level, the doorway is open to an area where the few attackers that have made it into the courtyard have arrived through.
For Smoke:
Strangely, you see only a handful of raiders approaching - no more than ten have left the encircling forces to rush toward the breach, and they have gotten nearly halfway to the keep without any others joining them.

Yevele will charge in through the doorway, attacking the first raider she sees with her quarterstaff Attack: 16 Damage: 8 followed by a kick: Attack: 11 Damage: 5

Thia will rush forward to where she can see into the breach. She bends swiftly over and grabs a pinch of sand from the courtyard floor. Letting the sand fall through her fingers she utters some arcane words under her breath and points beyond the doorway. Reaching deep into the Void she summons arcane energy and expends it outwards into the breach.
