Yevele leans down and whispers in the ear of the last raider "We know how to take someone right up to the brink of death and bring them back. And, then repeat that as many times as necessary to get our answers. We can break every individual bone in your hands and feet for starters. Answer the dwarf!"
OOC and, this scene may end up changing Yevele's monastic tradition.
The woman shows no fear in the face of the threats. "Oh, can you? Please, I beg you, try. Your ideas of torture pale in comparison to what you are walking into, offal," she spits.
"Your father?" She shrugs to Rogram, "Probably dead."
Thia stands aside, watching and detached. You never get this problem with books. They are orderly, predictable, and simple to understand. I am sticking to books in the future. At least you know where you are with them and they never talk back.
Rogram draws his sword in a flash and holds it out so that the point dimples the raider's throat. His face is full of fury, bright red and shaking. Memory and the sound of his mother's voice fill his mind. He swears in Dwarvish and takes a step back. Letting his sword dangle at his side, he turns to the others. "What do we do?" he asks, sounding tired. "Do we take her with us or end her life?"
While the party debates what to do with the surviving raider, Smoke concludes his ritual, casting a divining aura around himself. No magic registers to his senses in the vicinity.
The raider lies bound with her eyes closed, committed to her silence.
As soon as the words are out of Thia's mouth, Rogram turns and plunges the longsword into the raider's chest with absolutely no emotion. He whispers, "Sorry, Mother." He leaves the blade in her until she stops breathing. At that point, he retracts his sword and wipes it on her lifeless body to clean off the blood. Sheathing his weapon, he says, still sounding tired, "Let's not get so far from each other going forward. We need to stick together. No more than 50 or so feet apart, I say."
The robed woman dies, an upturned grimace etched onto her face.
Area Description:
The trail of trampled grass winds through a pair of outcrops, continuing further southeast. The tops of the outcrops are covered in a jumble of large rocks and boulders.
OOC: Each character has received 237 XP for defeating these raiders.
If/when the party is ready to resume travel, the previous marching order was: Front - Smoke, Yevele Middle - Thia Back - Rogram
Thia can perform some light activity while traveling in the middle rank if she wishes.
Yevele will search the remaining bodies for anything of note. After she has finished, the monk will look around at the party and say "Maybe we should rest here for a bit and see about getting healed up before moving on. There are probably more ambushes set ahead of us."
OOC I think we need to take a short rest at the very least. Smoke is badly injured and Yevele is in slightly better shape.
(what do you mean badly injured, i still have 1 whole hp)
After finishing the ritual Smoke will look around for a bit to see if he spots anything magical. But seems to have no luck finding anything interesting. Seeing the killing of the last raider Smoke looks down to his wounds. I suppose thats what they deserved.
I think we should rest for a bit. Im not feeling that well yet.
Thia nods at the idea of a quick rest. "Perhaps move a little distance off?" she suggests, looking meaningfully at all the dead bodies in this area with a wrinkled nose.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

You see no further sign of movement from the outcrops as you rest a short distance away, tending to wounds and catching your breath. The sun reaches its peak and begins to descend as the day continues to warm, combining with the lack of shade in the area to put sweat glands to work as you recover over the next hour.
OOC: Yevele does not find anything different than Rogram found in #966
The party has gained the benefits of a short rest. If you would like to roll any hit dice for your character feel free to do so now, as well as mentioning any light activities you want your character to do during the rest or before resuming travel.
Thia will have a quick check over these bodies again. (She's wondering if they are wearing better armour than she currently has on? She is looking for Studded Leather if possible? I suspect they are just wearing robes from the description; just double checking. Mental note: need to upgrade my armour!)
"Let's crack on," she suggests once the group are ready. "We are only getting further behind. But I also suggest we slow right down now. Go slower and go quieter?"
(With Thrax missing are we all stealthy now? I'd assume so, perhaps we slow to a 'Slow' pace and stealth along now?)
Perhaps surprising one or more of the party, Rogram makes no complaint when Yevele suggests resting for an hour. During the rest, he cleans his sword and spends about 15 minutes practicing some techniques using the sword and shield. When the party sets off, however, the shield is not on his arm.
During the break, the monk will spend her time meditating. Once the party is ready to move on, Yevele will recommend they be careful approaching any other outcrops in case the cultists have laid out other ambushes on the route back to their campsite.
After that first roll, I might as will use up the second hd: 9

(Smoke will use 2 hd 13 updated to my sheet)
Smoke will rest as much as he can cleaning his wounds and clothes as best he can. He will make sure to find and retrieve his daggers that he threw at the first raidr. After a while he gets back up to strech and muster the energy to continue. At Thia's suggestion to move on Smoke will speak up Very well, it seems its wise to stay closer together. Who knows what ambushes they set up. We should be getting close to the camp. He looks to Rogram knowing he has a temper, then glances to the others are he finishes his sentence. Remember why we are here. We need to avoid fighting their entire army.
When everyone is ready Smoke will take his position with Yevele in the front trying to keep his eyes open for any raiders.
(ooc i assume Rogram is still visibly carrying the shield on his back or did he leave it behind?)
