Smoke darts between tents, leading the army away and hearing the occasional arrow disturb the air around him as he takes to the cliffside, using the claws that nature has given him to begin to easily scale the rocks.
With most of the attention elsewhere, the raider that spoke with Rogram answers simply, "No sir." The pair of raiders carries the body toward the large central tent, where shadows flitting past the opening give away that activity is occurring within.
Yevele, listening to the events going on outside will make sure that everyone is unlocked once she hears the guards moving away. She will then tell them what the situation is on getting them out of the camp "We came in by climbing down the cliff" pointing in the direction of the cliff. We can get out that way, but, it would probably be best to do it one or two people at a time to keep from getting noticed. The rest of us will stay inside the tent until it is there turn to climb out of here."
OOC How many people can fit into the cave where Thia and Lao Te are? And, particularly, how many people can fit in there while staying back from the entrance.
Smoke continues to climb up the cliff hearing the arrows fly around him and getting nicked by one.
He grits his teeth wondering if he made the right call. Hopefully the others are safe now and hopefully Smoke will be too soon. He continues to climb trying to boost help himself and his resolve. WIth the earth in my grasp nature will aid my call, help me reach the top.
Action: Dash to climb Movement: 2x20=40ft climbing Bonus action: Healing word on self to heal 6 to top off his health just in case
OOC: In the immediate term, there is a steady stream of raiders investigating the area but it would seem that your deception worked fairly well. The attention isn't focused on the prisoners' tent. You can make the assumption that at some point in the near future there won't be as much attention in the area if you want any adjustment to Yevele's idea.
The cave where Thia and Leosin (not Lao Te) are was big enough to fit 5-6 people comfortably. Most of the caves along the cliffs looked to be about that size.

Smoke's flight takes near the top of the cliff. A pair of arrows crumble rocks from the canyon wall on either side of him before one plunges painfully into his calf. With the tabaxi nearly out of sight, only 30 feet from the upper ledge, the army's calls to give chase become a jumble of clashing orders. At least a dozen raiders begin to attempt a climb, but at a much slower pace.
OOC: I appreciate everybody's consistent posting. Apologies for my delays this week.
While he waits, Rogram directs his unseen servant to light another tent at the edge of its 60 feet maximum on fire with a torch. He doesn't want anyone to witness a floating torch, so he does this stealthily.
As Smoke gets hit by the arrow he cries out in pain AArggh. He looks down to see his calf pierced with an arrow and the raiders now nearing the cliffside to start their on climb.
Keep going he tells himself as he climbs up more. Almost there.. He climbs up the final part of the cliff crawling onto the ground on top getting out of sight of the raiders below as quickly as he can. Still on the ground he looks up This is not for me..he tries to catch his breath a moment.
Smoke then sits up not getting close to the edge so the raiders wont think he is hanging out to wait on others but he does try to see if there is smoke or fire coming from below or if they already managed to put out his fire.
Action: Dash Movement: 30ft climb + half movement of a so 15ft walking/crawling to get away from the edge of the cliff. Inspiration: 1 still on Rogram.
Yevele, from the inside of the tent, looks through the narrow opening in the tent flaps. The monk will look up toward the cliff and see if she can spot a second cave, thinking that it might be best to move everyone into one of the caves part way up the cliff face, before moving people to the top of the cliff.
Every torch that Rogram can see in the vicinity is being held by a raider that is actively searching, making the proposition of stealthily lighting another blaze unlikely. As Smoke disappears above the cliffs at a greater pace than his pursuers, the army gains control of the first blaze, stamping and covering the ruined tents with a layer of dirt.
In the darkness of night, Yevele has trouble spotting whether there is a second cave in close vicinity to the one that Thia is parked next to, but can recall seeing plenty of those small caves along the cliffs. It seems likely that there is another along the path to the top of the cliff.
OOC: Is Yevele's plan the plan that is being communicated to the prisoners? With Smoke and Thia currently out of harm's way, and the army not seeming suspicious of the prisoners' new guards, we don't have to handle this round-by-round any longer.
When Rogram asks about the plan, Yevele responds "As I was just telling the villagers, we'll take them up to one of the caves on the cliff side, one at a time. Once they are all in a cave, we will then take them up to the top of the cliff, assuming all agree to that plan."
OOC: You still have at least 4 hours before the sun begins to rise. If Rogram is in agreement with the plan, then I can begin to resolve.
Smoke is out of sight and out of combat for the moment (the raiders are still giving chase, but now that he has reached the top of the cliff he can easily step out of sight among the thick brush). What is his next move?
Smoke will take a breather after running for a few seconds. Trying to wrap some cloth around his leg to stop the bleeding (and refresh his feline agility).
After that he will make sure to leave tracks as he enters the brush. Knowing the raiders wont climb as fast as he does he will go south and make sure he can easily be followed for a few minutes then circle round to the west making sure he covers his tracks when he moves in that direction and circles back towards the spot that the group was in before climbing down. His goal is to try and trick the raiders into moving south away from the others.
He will sit in the brush there a moment to see if he can spot any raiders coming up the cliff or if the noise below is settling down.
By the time Smoke works his way back around to the southern edge of the plateau, Rogram and Yevele have enacted their escort of prisoners out of the tent and begun to lead them one at a time toward the cave where Thia waits with Leosin's unconscious form. All seems to be going well on both fronts; Smoke cannot see far enough in the darkness to know exactly how many raiders followed him up the cliff, but the brush surrounding him is not being disturbed.
However, as the last of the prisoners is departing the camp, heading for the nearest cave, the horns once again begin to blow from the guard tower on the opposite cliff. Soon, the cry is echoing throughout camp: "The prisoners are escaping!"
Before Rogram is able to adjust Yevele's plan, the flight has been spotted. "Well I ain't for gettin' dragged back in there!" Dorgol shouts. The dwarf practically leaps from the cave to the cliffside and begins to climb higher as the camp once against stirs in activity. "What do we do?" the still-disguised prisoner asks Rogram, Thia, and Yevele with wild eyes. Behind them, Leosin's form lies still in the back of the cave.
Rogram looks around with wild eyes, grimacing and mumbling darkly. Finally, taking stock of himself, he removes his shield and begins strapping it to Daniel's back. "Can you climb?" he asks his aunt, not prepared to let her say no. "I need you to follow your husband. This will give you some protection from arrows as you climb and run." Once the shield is secured, he ushers her to where Dorgol began climbing and yells up at him to get his attention. Once he knows Dorgol sees that Daniel is following, he'll turn to the others. "It's now or never. Climb like your life depends upon it."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Rogram tells the other former prisoners to climb, Yevele looks to Thia and says "Go with them. I'm staying with him" pointing at the unconscious body of Leosin. Turning to Rogram she says "Do what you must" and, then backs into the shadows and does her best to hide herself from anyone who may climb up and look in the cave. Stealth: 18
When Smoke hears the horns from the guard tower at first he thinks they might of spotted him and he ducks behind the brush again looking around to see if any raiders are moving towards him. Its really not safe here.. he says to himself
Not spotting anything he will crawl close to the edge and use his little steel mirror. Holding it out in his streched arm to peek over the edge without having to lean over and show himself to much. Coming.. i cant stay here much longer..
Smoke will try to see if anything is happening below and if the prisoners are climbing up. After a few moments he will duck back towards the brush watching the top of the cliff again to see if hes still safe.
Daniel nods, following Rogram's instructions, and the remaining prisoners follow suit. Despite their tired limbs, the desire to flee this camp pulls them upward; slowly, but still at a pace greater than what the army below appears to be able to catch.
At the top, Smoke sees the approaching prisoners reflecting in his mirror and focuses on the plateau around him. The darkness of night limits his vision to a specific radius, and the guard tower's horns continue to blow, but the area around him seems safe for the time being. No brush is being disturbed. Neither are any arrows disrupting the air around him.
Thia looks torn on whether to follow Yevele's command, but her eyes widen dramatically as she looks past Yevele to Leosin in the back of the cave. The battered monk has pulled himself to his knees, the blaring horns apparently having returned him to consciousness.
"No," he rasps to Yevele, "They know where we are. Staying is a lost cause now."
The young woman is surprised to see the older monk up on his feet, but, nods in agreement. "Okay, then let's get out of here." If necessary, she will help Leosin get to the mouth of the cave. Yevele will look out at the oncoming troops to see how far away they are before beginning her climb. She will trail behind the other monk on the climb. Once at the top, Yevele will again look back over the canyon to see where the troops are coming from.
