Karib looks back down the tunnels, "We will likely regret not destroying the eggs, but it may be beyond us. Either way, we have some prisoners to collect."
OOC: I'll wait a bit to advance until the party has come to a consensus on where to head next (heading back toward the entrance with Smoke, or somewhere else?)
If we're thinking of leaving the hatchery behind, I'll suggest looking back through your notes and the game thread to refresh yourselves on what your objective(s) are from here, since we've been in this cave for quite some time in real life.
"Where is Mondath's quarters? Perhaps there is a map in there that will lead us to Rezmir and the rest of the cult. And, maybe we can find a map that shows what the cult's future military plans are." Yevele will pause for a minute after raising these issues, before adding "Remember, when we came in, there were still a few individuals outside. Can we get past them with a captive Mondath. If we do leave we'll need to figure out how to get her past anyone outside the cave."
Karib nods slowly, "Aye, the ones outside. I thought they'd all left. They may not even take the smith with the army; like you say it's easily followed. Wiser to have them army go on other raids and take their prisoners ... somewhere else, maybe."
"I don't know the layout of these caves...or how far back they go. Why don't we get some food for our friend -- we need to do that anyway -- then quickly scout further back."
He looks toward the roper's room, "There's lots of bodies available, after all."
OOC: Sorry for the delay, got swamped at the end of the week.
The nearest bodies would be in this room, those of Cyanwrath and his bodyguards.
The roper has shifted closer to the entrance of the large cavern, awaiting the arrival of the promised food. When Karib drags one of the corpses into the chamber, some of the roper's tendrils grip the body, then lift it into the air, twisting and turning it in front of the roper's massive eye. Suddenly, the creature slams the body into the ground with a thud.
"WhaT iS tHis?! ThiS iS nOt fresH. I sAiD tO bRiNg mE foOD! FrOm tHis stoRaGe yOu saY iS hErE," the roper shouts.
Karib frowns, "It was killed quite recently, how fresh do you want?" he asks, his temper and voice rising a little, as he tries to recall what he can about these creatures.
(( @DM: (1) What does Karib know of these creatures? From the tales he has heard, would he steer clear of them, or be inclined to be more direct? (2) Looking at the map, didn't we explore the dragon shrine? and (3) There is a corridor SW of the roper room. Is that the only unexplored direction?
OOC: 1) This seems like quite the unique beast to Karib, he's certainly never heard of one that speaks. As for Karib's actions regarding it, that would be up to Karib, but it certainly seems quite dangerous.
2) Yes, this was where someone triggered the trapped chest and the acid sprayed out everywhere.
3) That direction is unexplored, and there is at least one other area that the party has passed by a few times now.
"It iS wArm aND rotTiNG! I aM nO scaVEnGer. I eAT mY meALs fResH," the roper answers. As if to accentuate the point, tendrils slowly hover toward Karib.
Light flares on Karib's shield as he steps backwards toward the door, "We will return," he says as he backs slowly in the direction of the meat locker. He whispers to his companions, "This could get messy."
(( @DM: Where is the other area that we have not explored? ))
"Maybe ignore it for now, and see if there is anything else to find here that may help us. But, we need to remain alert for it trying to ambush us." Yevele whispers when they are away from the creature.
OOC: There is a chamber that the party has opted to sneak past multiple times on the way to and from the meat locker. Sorry for the vagueness, trying to balance wanting players to be in control of their notes/knowledge with being helpful because I know PbP takes a long time.
Ready to advance once the next action is determined. For now, the roper is allowing you to move freely in and out of the chamber.
Rogram stands by, trying very hard to remain patient as the others flip flop on what they want to do. He is currently holding back from rushing on impulsively, but it is difficult.
Karib eyes Rogram warily and draws a deep breath, "One thing your father would have hammered into your skull is that something forged in haste will be the first to break. We need to stay the course. They need him alive, and he needs you alive."
Rogram narrows his eyes at the human for a few heartbeats before finally giving a curt nod. He sighs. "OK, if the creature doesn't like 'warm and rotting' meat, is it really going to like cold meat?"
Karib nods, and speaks quietly, "You're most likely right, but it gets us away from the monstrosity at least." The last is said with a cautious glance back down the corridor, then he suppresses a shudder as he walks toward the meat locker.
Pausing to see what the group decides Smoke follows them towards the meat locker, but stops them in the small corridor between Cyanwraths room and the area that passed the sleeping kobolds.
Be carefull, i doubt the kobolds are still sleeping, we have been here a while now.
He will make sure he is not the first to try and go into the room near the kobolds as he is still hurt badly from the previous battles of being on the frontline.

Perhaps the creature will eat the eggs if we do not return. We have been here a while.
He looks to the group and Rogram Yes we should try and leave this place. We know their leader is not here anymore.
If the group agrees Smoke will start to move back towards the entrance to exit the cave.

Rogram is clearly ready to follow Smoke (or perhaps even lead) back to the cave entrance.

In the absence of further comment, Karib starts moving back toward the scene of the most recent fight, and drags a body back to the roper.
(( Bodygaurds of Cyanwrath? Or perhaps Cyanwrath himself? ))

OOC The other area is probably the kobold barracks that we've snuck past several times.
