The Chuul barely blinked before a barrage barrelled it’s way.
Chuul ST VS DC15: 9 for 9 damage
Flux rams his rear once more, however not hard enough to be let go. Meanwhile Kerric valiantly attempts to slash his way out, the beast is proving to have strong vitality.
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker‘s bolt just pierces the shell of the crustation and Xalkas’ bolt sizzles the hole. Ebele presses on to beat it with her pole.
The Chuul bleeds from many orifices, wavering from the unrelenting strikes against it. However it still has some fight left! With both men clamped between it’s pincers it chatters and gurgles in delight. It will taste it’s prey. Moist, warm, wriggling tentacles reach out. Slithering from head to toe, it licks Kerric and Flux.
On Kerric & Flux Tentacle Lick: DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. Until this poison ends, the target is paralyzed. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Flux Zap? (Like licking a battery) Chuul ST DC16: 19
"Oi! Tentacles off the merchandise ya filthy bottom feeder!" Flux barks out as not only the ship wheel is spun into action for another painful slamming, but so too had came out the warhammer for a more directed shot at the creatures head in hopes of cracking its shell good! "Down, ya beastie, down! Or else ya be made to respect the proper food chain soon enough!"
Bonus Action: Strike once again with Captain's Wheel! (Lethal)Spiritual Weapon - Attack: 3+28 Damage: 15.
Action: Lash out with Ye 'old Hammer. (Lethal, One-Handed)Warhammer - Attack: 1+11 Damage: 12. (If warhammer or spiritual weapon would miss, burning bardic to add 4 to the hit to the 1st one to miss.)

The beastly crustacean wails, then flails in a monstrous fit when it's 'cornered' dinner proves to be more than it bargained for. Not only were they slippery and pokey, they were 'immune' to it's 'numbing' agent! Something it clearly could of used itself... With a final sickening sound weapons are rammed expertly into the Chuul's tenderized orifices. Wide eyed, it exhales it's final breath before collapsing forward onto the bridge, sending large waves crashing over and within the river, threatening to take some with it. Head down, ass up, that's the way we like to Flux.
Kerric helped too.
Initiative Over!
However, crashing waves and a collapsing monstrous body made for some tricky terrain of events. Can Kerric, Flux and Ebele ride these wave of events out? Or will they find themselves trapped beneath the body or swept by the waves?
Find out next time!
Acrobatics or [skill]Athletics[skill] Check Roll Call: Kerric, Flux and Ebele!
Sensing the impending danger raining down upon her, Ebele throws herself into a front handspring to launch herself up as the beast comes crashing down where she stood. The monk lands nimbly upon the crustacean, maintaining her balance with ease. Meanwhile, Kerric manages to stick a superhero landing on the end of bridge after free falling out of the Chuul’s claw. He was just smooth enough to make it look like he meant to do that this whole time.
However Flux wasn’t as graceful. He’s flung, flailing in the air, desperate to grab hold of something, anything. Smack. As if blessed by some divinity, Flux meets the bridge, smacking into the side of it. Left with enough wits to cling onto the edge, a few fingers are all that can be seen of him from atop of the bridge.
Silence falls over the group.
“Don’t everyone rush over to help at once…” Ebele hops and skips along the dead body, then reaches out with her staff to Flux to help him.
Though more than a capable swimmer, and able to breathe underwater at that, in those initial few moments of floundering, Flux forgets all of that in favor of reaching out for the staff. Granted, unless he can spy another helping Ebele out, he dared not trust either her or his strength alone in pulling himself out before possibly carried off by the flow of water.
If, on the othe rhand, unable to confirm from his position that of others, then he'd take his chances on the spot to start trying to haul himself back onto land with Ebele's help! If/When back on dry land, he'd absently sputter words of thanks in between awkward chuckles and apologies for the 'poor display of athleticism' on his part. Which he seemed rather confident about being able to do better despite the clearly rotund figure.
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker waves half heartedly at Ebele, "No no dear, it's too late. He's long gone." (As she attempts to grab his hand and pull him up he continues on....) "This poor, and only briefly known hero, that we called Flux. He will indeed be missed. But mostly it will be his personal outstanding debt that will be remembered for perpetuity, unless we should be so lucky as to find his next of kin and resulting bearers of his estates debts."
He glances back at the bridge, "Oh, wait...is that a hand? Perhaps he's not gone yet. Thank goodness. Here, let me help you...."
He wanders closer and attempts to grab Ebele's off hand and give her a bit more support.

Lewin, peering over at Flux's rescue from the torrent, holds off on any arcane means of rescue as Ebele handles things easily. He watches the others, measuring their response, both in terms of skill and care. He wasn't sure about extending divine blessing to such a group, even if they had rescued him, but as they take action to mutually support one another, his confidence is further boosted.
He tries to train his eyes and ears on their surroundings to ensure there are no further surprises.

"That was alarming and you handled it well. I am impressed, and glad to walk beside you. Do we need to push this large creature back into the water, or can we clamber over it?"
With T'chal'fronack'zcinicker helping Ebele help, and Kerric’s help, Flux is assisted back up onto the bridge. While he may be comfortable in water, and a strong swimmer, the Chuul’s behemoth body next to him is a reminder of what could be lurking beneath. Even just hanging over the bridge something could have snacked on his toes!
Xalkas reminds the group of the stash of healing potions he’s been holding on to. They were welcome to help themselves to one.
Lewin sees nothing but water and the dead crustacean before him. With a little bit of team work it’d be possible to do either he suggested. Clambering over it would be the easiest solution, however it could be worth considering the need for a hasty retreat back this way. Would it be a hinderance, or a help?
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker steps back, dusting off his hands after helping Kerric and Ebele help Flux back up onto the bridge. "I'd suggest we drag this thing back to our troll friend, but it looks very heavy and I'm really not that motivated. Let's just shove it back to whence it came. It's best to keep the bridges clear."
He stands back, waiting for someone else to try and shove the massive creature off the bridge. Glancing at Lewin, he gives the man a job. "Nice job yourself. Just...I'm not sure what you splattered on us to get things going, but...is that going to be a regular thing? It's just...water right?"

More than water. It is one of the gifts I can sometimes pass along. I am glad it helped, even if only a bit."
He offers to help someone else try push the thing off the bridge but he is in no kind of shape to do it himself.
